as a child, your parents knew you had the potential to be someone great, someone who can change the world. you make yourself distinct for your peers at the start. you solve anything like child's play––math problems, puzzles, logic––and you tinker, boy do you love to get your hands on the cold, cold pieces of metal and wire and when the sparks fly? you gaze at it in wonder and excitement. you like it when things move the way you want to. you like it when everything falls to place, especially with a satisfying click. the world is just one giant puzzle to be solved, you think, but it's unfortunately not that simple. life is never that simple.[break][break]

when you grow older you realise that humans are the most complicated puzzles of all. too many factors must be weighed in before making a choice, and even the most logical choice can be the wrong one. you find it much easier to create more toys rather than be with fellow humans, but you yourself are human. you are limited to this, sadly. do you wish yourself to be like a machine? at first, yes, but later you find that life would be too simple if it were that way. there are some good things too about being human, yes, like the sensation of touch, for example. of emotions, of hormones. you are happy with those you care about. you feel a rush when you take revenge on those you hate. a good rush. you chase after that feeling of happiness. you cultivate it alongside your desire to explore the unfurling world around you. being human is strangely beautiful in its own way; this is what you believe in. a pity that this has resulted in many, many subpar humans as well. a pity that they are often bumbling fools. a pity indeed.[break][break]

the league was never too happy about your wants––your needs. they recruited you at an early age after seeing your potential and drive to research, but they are also the ones who send you away. you don't mind all too much. your parents don't, either. maybe try the other side instead, your father offers, just be careful. daddy is used to working with such questionable folk. he plays a good game of tightrope. you, on the other hand, have no qualms with jumping in head first. breaking your skull would hurt, though. again, being human stops you.

but rocket isn't all too shabby. at least you can experiment with your heart's content. it's always better to play for the winning team. perhaps league may offer something better in the future, but for now, you'll just have some fun.[break][break]
