It was damn near the end of the week. All those years spent trying to catch a break, avoiding work, taking it easy, and just not giving a damn had come back and bit Dallas right in the ass. It felt like it too, his entire body sore from all of the chaos and adventure he embarked on, getting caught up in everything from gang violence to ghost Pokémon, the whole "a" to "z". Finally it was the weekend, and he was given some time off from work to heal back from his various injuries. He had run his hands through his hair, eventually coming to touch his face and the scar cut across the top of his forehead. He cringed at a slight pain, it was still sore from the other day. There were times he was thankful for his Pokémon.

On most occasions Dallas would stay at home and relax on the furniture, catching the news and snoozing off in his personal armchair. He didn't have much else to do in his new apartment, as he wasn't allowed to carry many belongings around due to his work. Dallas didn't mind though, he wasn't much for materialistic things, and tended to enjoy an empty room with a good book rather than a bunch of noisey decorations and knick knacks. Having less room taken up by these things has given Dallas enough space to hold his collections, gems and stones of varying beautiful colors, and tools specifically used for inspecting each and every crevice of his tokens. He had magnifying glasses that could see at different magnifications, dusters for cleaning dirt and debris, chisels for chipping away the useless stone that was embedded into the beautiful fossils, and polisher for shining all to keep his collection in pristine condition. Oh how he loved his stones. This time however, instead of staying at home to admire his collection, he decided it was time to explore one of the greatest wonders of Hoenn region: Meteor Falls. A cavern so large and so beautiful especially at night when the moon rises, as the light of the moon cascades into the cavern from an opening high above. A flowing spring river flows through the inside connecting multiple pools together, and crashing over steep cliffs creating the falls that the cave is so aptly named for. It was a sight to behold and it was on Dallas' bucket list to see.

Dallas had travelled north of Rustboro City, leaving at around midday strolling through the nearby forests and climbing various hills and crags just to get to the foot of the cave. On his way he had seen many different types of Pokémon home to the Hoenn region. From cawing Wingulls who were native to the nearby beaches to Zigzagoons frolicking in the wooded groves. Dallas saw some other Pokémon he recognized, such as a grouping of Geodudes that were resting against a mountainous wall. The afternoon sun had created shadows over the wall that made them easily visible to the naked eye, as Dallas was sure during the day they would be quite camouflaged. Dallas had eventually reached the cave by sundown, and after taking a quick break to eat and feed his team of Pokémon, he entered.

Upon entering Dallas could immediately hear the roar of the falls as it echoed through the extremely large cavern. A large pool of cave spring water sat immediately to the left of entering the cave, and a horde of fish Pokémon swam about looking for food. Stalactites dangled from the cave ceiling, and the droplets that formed on their bodies dripped frequently creating the visual of a precipitation within the cave. Stalagmites rose up from the ground like malformed teeth, the maw of the cave drinking the water from above. Up ahead Dallas could see a path that had been chiseled out by Hiker's in previous expeditions, and, further up the path he discovered a former dig site embedded into the epicenter of a crater. Years ago it seemed that meteorite had crashed into the mountain that the cave was home to, and created the skylight that let in the light of the moon, while simultaneously creating craters and fissures ripe with meteor rock. This was more than what Dallas wanted.

"Absolutely astounding" Dallas said to himself. This cave was a prize for Dallas, and after making the treacherous journey to come here, he knew he had to take something back with him. After digging around and picking up various stones he felt were of interest, he thought it was time he searched for some Pokémon. He had hoped that the cave would bring him something new and exciting to add to his team, and one that would be just as precious as the stones he found. Perhaps a Rock-Type Pokémon, but maybe there was even some more unique to add to his team...

Dallas was had reached the opus of the cave, as he climbed up the steep path and gave sight to the enormous waterfall that faced him. A mist sprayed his face and he stared in bewilderment, and the moon began to shine through the canopy, creating a glinting rainbow that had shone throughout the cave. An absolute wonder. While distracted by this sight, Dallas did not notice the swooping shadow that dove at him from above and soon he was in immense pain, as a fierce bite tore into the skin of his arm. The shadow had darted out of site before Dallas even had a chance to see who dealt the damage. Swearing to himself he held his arm as it bled, reaching into his packing for a first-aid. He looked up and tried to sight the Pokémon before it made another attempt to bite him

Dallas assumed correctly as soon enough in the shortest of moments the shadow dipped out of the mist, taking a second chance at biting it's foe. Dallas rolled to side to avoid the bite and watched as the bat-like Pokémon (still a mystery in the light) flew up towards the canopy. "That's strange for a Zubat..." he mumbled to himself, as he reached for a pokéball on his belt. He picked out one that was clad in stickers and called out Siege, his Bastiodon. Siege immediately stood in front of Dallas in a protective stance, peering around the cavern for signs of the Pokémon. In the blink of an eye the shadow darted out from behind a rock, and Dallas' Bastiodon - too slow to react - gasped out in fear as the bat Pokémon took another bite out of Dallas.

"Son of a bitch..." Dallas grumbled, as both of his arms bled. He looked everywhere to try and spot the Pokémon, and caught it just in time to duck away from another attack. The bat Pokémon swooped low towards Dallas' head in another attempt at territorial defense. Siege looked at Dallas for instruction as it was too surprised at the speed of the foe to know what to do. Dallas had to think and act quickly before he sustained anymore injuries. Within a moment he knew what to do.

"Siege, Iron Defense!" He shouted as he pointed toward a clearing in the cave. He hoped this would work. The Bastiodon took a defensive stance and it's Steel-faced head began to shine as it hardened it's armor. "Hold it." Dallas said as he began to move in front of Siege, standing directly in front of the Pokémon's face. Bastiodon, confused but confident in it's trainers direction, stood it's ground, maintaining it's defensive stature. Dallas knew what was going to happen next. The bat Pokémon wasn't looking to harm Bastiodon, as it was way too strong to handle. Instead it was looking to harm the weaker target, Dallas, by using its speed to maneuver around the sluggish Siege, and chip away at him until he could no longer fight. It was a smart Pokémon, but Dallas knew it wasn't smart enough.

Within a second the bat Pokémon had flown full-speed out of the shadows, making a direct attack for Dallas. Dallas readied himself as he had to make sure the timing was right. The bat Pokémon dove right for his head to issue a killing blow, and Dallas ducked down at the last second, as the bat Pokémon crashed right into the face of the Bastiodon behind. The Bastiodon's head being as tough as it was, along with the increase in protection from Iron Defense suffered no damage while the bat Pokémon - a Noibat Dallas noted rather than a Zubat - had been knocked unconscious. The speed of the Pokémon had led it to it's defeat. Dallas stood up and looked at his Bastiodon with pride. Although it wasn't a Rock-type Pokémon, it was a Pokémon nonetheless, and he was happy to have battled with it. He also knew of a certain friend - someone who often ogled over the speed and strength of a Noibat's evolution Noivern - who would be happy to enjoy a Pokémon like this. Dallas, reaching into his pack, pulled out an empty Pokéball, and tossed it at the Noibat, crossing his fingers at the result....

Click. Click. Clink! The Pokéball was sealed, and the Noibat was caught. Victorious Dallas jumped up for joy, giving his Bastiodon a hard pat on his dome. The Bastiodon smiled up back at Dallas and roared in delight at it's appraisal. Looking down at his Pokémon with a smile Dallas soon came to the realization he was still bleeding from his injuries from his battle, and after returning Siege back to his Pokéball he tended to his wounds with the first aid kit in his backpack. Satisfied, he picked up the Pokéball containing the Noibat. He couldn't have been happier to have come out all this way to Meteor Falls and to experience the thrilling adventure of being a trainer, and he thought about the look of Isla's face when he returned with the Noibat he just caught. Turning to look towards the canopy of stone up above, he admired the twilight of the moon as it shone light down towards himself and the falls,0 and closed his eyes as the crashing and roaring of water took him to a place of tranquility. Forever he would remember this moment, and knowing that he had a new favorite hot spot for his hobby, he finally came to the conclusion that moving to Hoenn wasn't all that bad.
