fernando is not one to be denied. he refuses to take no for an answer. the task ahead is no exception.

articuno had picked its avatar. it comes as no surprise when it's not fernando. but that's fine. this is fine. right?

no. this is anything but fine but fernando will make due with the actualities of reality. so long as there is proper preparations, there will be a chance to tame the behemoth. what he needs more then ever is to be prepared. as an expert in all matters ice, there is no better solution then to melt them into nothingness. that's why he travel the fiery path - all in search for the instrumental tools of what's to come.

a torkoal is not the answer. it rarely is. in this circumstance, fernando could put it to use but the amount of resources he'd have to put into it doesn't out weigh the cost. if only he had known the pokemon was the bringer of DROUGHT, perhaps he would've considered. but there's no way to tell. not in this environment when the heat blares on the merit of being fiery path alone.

the sluggish pokemon is too slow to keep up. there's no threat behind it and fernando leaves it behind. the journey continues. his fortune awaits and none will hold it from him.

neither is a chimchar. lillian's encounter its evolution before and that enough was to warrant further investigating the species and its combative power. the end results was that like most starter pokemon, infernape is an excellent melee offensive front line but that's not what he needs. no, he needs something to fill his niche. something that can do what no one else can. what exactly? he has no idea. not until he sees it.

like every other pokemon so far, fernando finds relatively little threat from it. the sheen of the balls that line his pocket is enough to dissuade any single pokemon from approaching. those that have encountered humans know the warning well enough.

so it is a fletchinder that ends his travels. although charizard is more then enough when it comes to having an aerial unit that can tame the flames, fernando suspects he'll need more then that to handle the frozen avian threat that now resides in hoenn. that fact alone is enough to merit his capture of the otherwise harmless bird that nestles itself on a perch near the exit of the cave.

like every pokemon before it, it has no chance when faced with the various pokemon that fernando has in his arsenal. a single pokeball is all it takes to scoop the pokemon up from the seeping, soaking puddle he leaves it in.
