fernando is not one to be denied. he refuses to take no for an answer. this will be no different.

"rock resists fire."

the condescension in his voice is matched only by its sarcasm. the little tyrunt that struggle to keep up with him is sweating profusely, panting as it navigates the extreme temperatures of the fiery path. "any power is strong is brought in abundance. remember that." the pokemon knows no better and can barely comprehend his words, much less its meaning. still, the two continues up the hike. it's one fernando's done plenty before and continues to do. the trial invigorates him - a small preparation for the tragedy that's to come.

their travels are met with encounters. this is nothing new for him but the tyrunt is excitable. it wants to scrap with everything that crosses its path. "the journey up is a long one. do you think you have the reserves to expend your energy so needlessly?" the words serve as a reminder and the tyrunt is able to piece together the bigger picture. with a disappointed whimper it stays on a track and continues the march. that's more like it.

the farther they go the more the tyrunt is grateful it listened. fernando reiterates the point with a sarcastic reply that the tyrunt grunts at in annoyance.

the obstacles they face revolve around the terrain. in this instance, they face something different. the heatmor up ahead will take to no intruders. it defends its territory with the wicked flames that funnel through its elongated snout. for once, tyrunt will have an opportunity. fernando is quick to dispel the pokemon's eagerness.

"we have much ahead. a well placed HORN DRILL straight to the torso. render it useless and we will pass." the tyrunt whimpers, dejected. "we will have another chance for battle. when the exit is in plain site, that is when you will be able to release."

that is enough encouragement to boisterous the pokemon into obedience. with a renewed vigor, passing through the heatmor prove simple. fernando walks by idly, unhurried, unworried, as each step takes him past unconscious, curled up pokemon.
