the ash settles on her even here, leaving speckles of grey on her clothes. unfortunate but not particularly surprising.

it's the furthest point from her home, but the north-western area of the region is familiar ground by now. every drop of crystal water, every blade of grass, and every grain of red earth.

the head raises from the water, a mottled tangle of algae and seaweed; pinks, purples and maroons. she can only barely make out its sad eyes through the kelp in its face.

the dragalge makes no move to attack, drifting with an aimless sadness across the water's surface. in turn, persephone inches towards the edge of the lake, a cautious movement to ensure the pokemon isn't spooked.

"are you lost? how did you end up here? i thought you preferred the seas." that would make two of them.

there was a time when she would uphold the ranger code of conduct and attempt to guide the pokemon to home, wherever that may be.

not any more. perhaps FERNANDO SILPH is rubbing off on her and the desire to amass an entire arsenal overcomes the instinct to help. without even a second thought, she tosses a pokeball.
