She was venturing out into the areas around Rustboro during her travels, seeing no reason not to take advantage of being in the area.

This time she looked rather out of place in the tunnel, the young woman now being dressed in one of her more profession dresses , parasol sitting on her shoulder and a shawl around her shoulders to give her a very lady like appearance. She didn't fit the rugged look of the tunnel but she wanted to see the place first hand none the less.

her Banette walked at her side, chittering about the shadows he saw in the corners and eying his trainer suspiciously. It wasn't something that actually bothered her however, she was quite used to his antics for even as his shadow sneak snuck up the shadows of her dress to bop the parasol around on her shoulder she only laughed and reached out with it to gently bop him in the head. The pokemon was mischievous as ever.

Then he reached out a shadow sneak to a nearby trainer she hadn't been paying too much attention to yet, his shadow seeking to playfully push at their bag to startle them.

It's been several weeks now since her mission to rescue Dahlia. Her stitched up leg has begun to itch something fierce in it's healing process, and for the most part she's ditched the crutch. [break][break]

Of course, her Rapidash often still walks alongside her to ensure she doesn't falter. [break][break]

It's also been several months since she had last frequented Rusturf tunnel. But, now that she was vying for the position of gym leader she felt it was her duty to build up her team. Today, in particular, she was looking for ground and steel type Pokemon to add to her roster.[break][break]

She had several different fire-type Pokemon to work with and train, but her assortment of ground types had been lacking.[break][break]

"It's okay, Apollo. You really don't have to baby me every step of the way. I'll be fine, I promise."[break][break]

Stormy pats the back of his neck affectionately, and the stallion snorts. He eventually leaves her to go venture by himself, leaving Stormy to enter the tunnel herself.[break][break]

She very quickly stumbles upon a familiar green-haired woman she had met back during her hike through Granite cave.[break][break]

"Isra?"[break][break]

Though she had to admit, whoever it was was certainly wearing the wrong attire for tunnel travel. Stormy herself was decked out in long pants and a t-shirt to deflect dirt and mud.[break][break]

The woman and her banette turn in unison towards the source of her name. The pokemon clearly on edge for a second before he relaxes into his usual mischievous grin at the sound in Isra's voice. "Stormy. I haven't seen you in awhile."

Then again Isra had been keeping herself busy with the many things on her plate. Primarily in Lilycove which had reluctantly become her home base in more ways than one. She'd had little choice in the matter if she wanted to make things easier on herself. "What brings you out this way?" There's a gentleness in her voice and the slightest tilt to her head as she wonders.

The banette gives the young lady an over eager wave, something he does only because of his partner's own familiarity with the young woman. Otherwise he might have treated her to a face full of will-o-wisp. Especially after a recent affair with a stalker left her unusually stressed.

Stormy's smile is warm, genuine.[break][break]

"I've been good. Busy, but good."[break][break]

She takes a moment to look around, gathering in the scenery again. Apollo is farther away now, minding his own business elsewhere. He's standing in the sun, absorbing the sunshine.[break][break]

"I'm out here training, sort of. I was hoping to find some ground and steel type Pokemon to capture and work with later. I figure, Rusturf tunnel gave me Skarmory, so maybe it'll give me something else special."[break][break]

Isra's Banette waves at her eagerly, and Stormy doesn't ignore that. Her own hand raises and gives it a tiny but equally excited wave back, winking at the creepy doll.[break][break]

"What about you? If you don't mind my observation - you don't look.. dressed for a day of tunnel crawling."[break][break]

She sort of gestures to the outfit her friend is wearing, but it isn't in disgust. In fact she looks quite proud.[break][break]

"You look beautiful though."[break][break]

Suddenly, however, a grating noise berates her ears. A couple of Pawniard appear at the mouth of the cave, scraping their tiny knife hands together maliciously. It appears they're fighting over a half-head Wiscash.[break][break]

Stormy immediately reaches into her pocket, retrieving her Vulpix. The six-tailed fox Pokemon yawns, stretching out against the grass. She blinks slowly, looking up at her trainer curiously.[break][break]

"Take down one of those Pawniard. It's a steel type, I'd like to have it."[break][break]

Vulpix does as she's told, although she's confused as to why Stormy would want such a.. savage Pokemon.[break][break]

Side-stepping the flopping and slimy water-type Pokemon, she quickly corners one of the Pawniard. The rest flee at the sight of her, unwilling to tussle with a fire-type. [break][break]

Vulpix, meanwhile, easily dispatches the Pawniard with a FLAMETHROWER and BABY-DOLL EYES to keep it from running. When Stormy throws a pokeball to catch the dark and steel type, she promptly returns the ball to Stormy.[break][break]

"I'm really just enjoying the sunshine, though."[break][break]

"Thank you." Isra gives her a half curtsy of thanks as would be expected of her anywhere else. "I usually wear dresses regardless of where I go." it's true enough. It's actually a rather rare site to see the woman in anything else and only happens when she's tired of them and needs a moments reprieve from the compulsion to be prim and proper that's been trained into her when it comes to them.

They are momentarily distracted by the presence of pokemon, which she is certain they both expected for the outing. Isra makes no move to prevent Stormy from tracking down one of the pawniards that were harassing another pokemon. While Stormy is busy expanding her team she releases another member of her own, the bleeding heart of her gardevoir is quick to work on the wounded wiscash. The misty terrain is quick to sooth its pain and the healing pulses of energy that she emits after do quick work bringing it back to a point where it might function. Isra whistles and the gardevoir uses her psychic to move the pokemon out of the way of the entrance, ensuring it will get the rest it needs before it continues on its way. She has little interest in it beyond this.

Her gardevoir returns to her side, her banette oohing and awing at the gardevoir's performance, alongside that of the Vulpix. Soon he is clapping a marvelous applause to the both of them. He makes her grin.

"I am glad you're doing well, how has the training been going? Fruitful I would hope." She herself has been doing much the same in her spare time, brining newer additions to her team up to par and ensuring the older members have not fallen behind in the meantime. Such as her banette who has been accompanying her much more than usual in recent outings.

Stormy blinks in surprise. Had Isra been wearing a dress the first time they'd met, and she just hadn't noticed?[break][break]

"Interesting. I prefer pants, honestly. I'm too rough-and-tumble, I'd just ruin them. They're pretty though."[break][break]

For a moment, she watches idly as the woman's Gardevoir takes care of the fish. It seems overly grateful to be so well looked after, and quickly scurries or flops back to its own business.[break][break]

After that, Rusturf tunnel is silent again. It's just the two of them maintaining idle chatter.[break][break]

"Fruitful enough. Charmeleon has evolved since you last saw her. She's grown a lot, though she's always been quite strong."[break][break]

There's another length of quiet - Stormy isn't great at conversation. [break][break]

Thankfully, her awkwardness is interupted by a couple of new Pokemon. It appears there's a disagreement occurring between a Trapinch and.. a pile of sand. Although at first glance it seems that the little orange Pokemon is angrily throttling a plastic shovel, after further examination it appears the shovel is fighting back.[break][break]

Startled by this, Stormy decides the best course of action is to engage - whereas any sane person might have turned the other cheek.[break][break]

"What in the?"[break][break]

Vulpix is quick on her feet, eager to please. Her BABY-DOLL EYES pull the Trapinch out of it's deathroll of the shovel just long enough for Stormy to swoop in and try to catch it with a pokeball.[break][break]

Now that one critter was out of the way, she'd kneel down next to the shovel, who had since resumed sticking straight up. It didn't seem to show off a face yet though, which confused her even more.[break][break]

"What the? Did you see that? The shovel is moving all by itself."[break][break]

her chuckle is soft, almost like an older sister finding amusement in a younger sibling's youth. In many ways she is, having been taught from the get go that a woman should present herself as she wishes to be perceived. Isra wishes to be seen as a lady, classy, elegant and delicate. It is a proper visage, the porcelain doll is dressed and propped in perfect little shoes meant to be displayed to her audience in a silent statuesque perfection. It is only in the deepest shadows beneath her parasol that who she really is flourishes. Delicate lips give way to an age sharpened tongue. Though quite decidedly, she doubts stormy will ever have it directed at her and she is okay with that. The young woman continues to grow on her as they chat.

"That's quite fruitful!" her tone matched her face, pleasantly surprised to hear that. "Such a jump is satisfying to see."

Isra is content in the quiet, simply having company being enough to keep her happy. At least lately when in many ways she hasbeen left feeling out of place and out of sorts. Even when she shouldn't be or doesn't seem like it. Sometimes no move she makes seems to be the right answer. It's only when stormy notices a squabble that she is brought back to the tunnel and out of the clouds.

"I wouldn't get so close if I were you."

Before stormy can heed her advice the wild pokemon begins ammassing sand in the air, intending to bury her beneath it. The set of whistles are sharp and quick but unneeded as her gardevoir is already in action. The pokemom's psychic ability keeps the sand in the air to allow stormy time to move before the sand is redirected to the pokemon trying to use it. A small hand gesture sends her bannete into the nothingness of the great beyond, vanishing from in human sight.

When he reemerges near the sand pokemon the phantom energies of his phantom force scatter the sand of the attack in all directions asthe slam into the wild pokemon, both uncovering and damaging it well enough for Isra to toss the pokeball.

"You did know that was a pokemon... Right?" even she knew, even if it was her first time battling one.she often forgot her general nowledge of pokemon was easily far wider than some.

Stormy cries out in a small burst of shock as the shovel begins to gather sand. It rises up above her, threatening to bury her in its depth when Isra tries to call her back with a warning.[break][break]

Unfortunately, it's already too late to scramble away by the time she hears it, but Isra comes to the rescue regardless.[break][break]

The moment the sand is suspended in the air, she has her chance to escape. There's a pitiful cry of outrage from whatever creature just tried to smother her. Stormy retrieves the Trapinch's pokeball and brushes sand from her pants, looking quite disturbed.[break][break]

She watches in surprise as Isra's Banette effectively takes care of it. For a brief second, she sees the Pokemon in question and she makes a peculiar noise of understanding.[break][break]

"No, I didn't. It just looked like a regular pile of sand. What's up with the shovel?"[break][break]

Isra neatly catches the Pokemon, allowing the two of them to move on from that slightly traumatizing experience.[break][break]

It doesn't take long, of course, for more Pokemon to show up. Not far away a Shieldon has gotten his head stuck in a small hole in the tunnel. It appears that a Krokorok is also with him, seeming to be distressed by this turn of events. [break][break]

"Oh my! One of them is stuck!"[break][break]

Of course, Stormy's ranger habits kick into high gear as she takes off down the tunnel to rescue whoever was in such disarray. [break][break]

The Krokorok growls protectively as she nears, his eyes narrowing into tiny slits. His attempt to use SCARY FACE is lost on her, however, given that she wasn't paying attention to him and she's too headstrong to care.[break][break]

Fortunately, the Krokorok doesn't try to attack her, and instead sort of backs off, instead intimidated by her.[break][break]

Stormy quickly gets to work, putting her hands on the Shieldon and trying to figure out how in the world to free him. Of course, her best option was probably to just capture him, but she hadn't gotten there yet.[break][break]

"He's scared, so he's using iron head and now his head is too strong to slide back out."[break][break]

She says this matter-of-factly as she knocks on the back of the Shieldon's head. The poor Pokemon stomps his feet sadly, giving a couple more futile tugs to try and free himself. Stormy smiles sadly at the poor soul before reaching for a pokeball.[break][break]

"Here, let me try this."[break][break]

With a flick of her wrist, she taps the wild Pokemon with an empty pokeball, watching in mild amusement as he disappears within.[break][break]

Before Isra can have a real chance to reply the young woman has run off down the tunnel. Her brow arches in amusement before she chuckles, her banette along with her. Her pokemon follow her as she makes her way down the tunnel with a well practiced swiftness. The sound of her heels against the stone and dirt of the tunnel is unmistakable and the steady rhythm hints at a woman used to moving deftly in her heels regardless of the terrain. It does not take her long despite them.

"If you release him again my gardevoir, Lucille, can look him over for damages. You too." she gestures towards the one still in front of them and her gardevoir is quick to perk up at not just her name but atthe suggestion she do what she likes best. often Isra wonders if she didn't get a chansy reborn as a gardevoir with how focused the bleeding heart is in healing. It took many nights to get through to her that Isra is not heartless but there is a time and place for her healing.

The gardevoir spreads her arms and a pink mist begins to materialize at her feet to sooth the wild pokemon, it should at least cease to feel distressed. Isra will leave it to its own devices should it not attack either of them at least.

"By the way, the sand and shovel was a Sandyghast. They're possessive of their shovels." she hadn't forgotten and is quick to pick back up where they left off on the topic. If for no other reason than the fact she should be aware not to approach anymore random shovels they find in the tunnel. "Bit surprised to see one here, I wonder how it got so far from shore?" she asked herself more than anything else. A curiosity for another day.

Stormy does as Isra suggests, allowing the Shieldon to pop back out of its pokeball. The woman's Gardevoir makes short work of calming it down and tending to whatever mild injuries it might have had. [break][break]

In return, the curious Pokemon would start to follow the Gardevoir's every move, viewing it as a motherly figure. Stormy giggles at this, watching for a moment. Every once in a while the creature stumbles as if his head is too heavy, tripping over his feet and tumbling in the sand. He doesn't seem at all upset about this, however.[break][break]

It also appears that the Krokorok has moved on.[break][break]

For the next few minutes, Stormy listens while Isra educates her on the Sandygast they had encountered. Her eyes are wide with shock and interest, and she purses her lips as she thinks about her question.[break][break]

"That is odd, especially if they're meant to be by the ocean. Hmm.."[break][break]

Her thoughts are cut short as a braying squeal of alarm echos around the tunnel. It's honestly quite ear-piercing, and Stormy claps her hands to her ears in surprise.[break][break]

Shieldon takes off at a clumsy gallop, curious to see who was in such distress. It didn't take long for the pair to stumble on what appeared to be another Sandygast, but this one was much, much larger. It also seemed to have captured a brown, mud-coloured donkey Pokemon. The poor soul was thrashing about in the mud, desperate to escape.[break][break]

"Oh my god!"[break][break]

Stormy immediately points at the commotion, and Shieldon does his best to be brave. He squeals, TAUNTING the Palossand to him instead of the Mudbray. This tactic seems to work for a moment, and the Shieldon recklessly charges forward, his steel noggin glowing as he attempts an IRON HEAD[break][break]

"Wait! Don't just dive in there, be careful!"[break][break]

The Mudbray escapes as the Palossand let's go to focus on his new target. It quickly attempts to swallow Shieldon, and now instead of the Mudbray being in danger, it's Stormy's new friend.[break][break]

Meanwhile, the Mudbray runs towards his savior, skidding to a halt behind Stormy's knees. He tucks his head between them, ears flat as he breathes hard from exertion. Stormy looks at Isra for help this time, assuming that she could take care of it again like she had the smaller version. She focuses on comforting the Mudbray, but also is evidently worried for the Shieldon.[break][break]
