cait didn't particularly fancy navigating enemy territory; but she felt as though it was necessary to personally gauge rocket's level of activity. yet there was nothing of interest to draw her focus, the rocket-affiliated appearing to be unevenly distributed within the stolen away settlement of slateport. 

'let's just hope it stays that way.'

mounted upon the back of her luxray, she was able to more effectively cover ground. her pokemon easily carried her weight, the pokemon obviously taking pride in playing the part of the capable mount as he discreetly transported his mistress from one side of slateport to the other.

"let's stop here, boy," she said. "you need a rest." 

luxray released an incredulous snort but lowered himself so that his mistress could more easily remove herself from his back. 

"the beach is filthy," she remarked, her eyes traveling its length. "i remember cleaning this place up not too long ago, too."

"looks like some of the trash is being swept into the sea," she commented. 

both cait and luxray observed the ocean as its waves swallowed an overabundance of trash with each current that came and went. the desire to clean very nearly overwhelmed her at that moment - but there would be little point in doing so. rockets would continue to toss their waste and contaminate the waters without fear of consequence. 

'we need to take back slateport,' she thought. 'driving them out is paramount.' 

the young woman leaned against her luxray, combing her fingers through his prominent mane as she did so. 

"it's only a matter of time," she murmured.

the pudgy figure of a sealeo passed them by, its movements predictably sluggish as it navigated its girth back into the water. 

"we'll clear out soon."

cait peered skyward, the sky of late evening pale blue as it continued to gradually darken with each moment. it made for a pretty sight as the moon served as its masterful centerpiece, the stars emerging one by one as the sun continued onward with its descent. 

"we're heading back home. it's obvious rocket's not mobilizing anytime soon," she said. 

her luxray merely yawned widely in response, though he was very much eager to get moving again.

she wasn't fond of sticking to one place for longer than absolutely necessary; aware that doing so in enemy territory could potentially spell disaster for both herself and her peers. 

"lux," her pokemon rumbled. 

cait mounted his back, her fingers running through his mane once more as she prompted him to take leave of the beach. their pace was slow at first as she eyed her immediate surroundings, suspicious and tense before she prompted him to lunge toward the filthy streets of slateport. 

'we'll fix this,' she thought. 'one day.'
