Rather than going into Meteor Falls and set himself up for disappointment, Alexei decided to hang around Route 114 instead. While not directly linked to the place where all the dragons were, he knew that there was something up with the ‘migration routes’ or so they said—and that several Pokémon had moved around and were settling around in different locations.[break][break]

And this place was one of the newer ones where draconids could be found. While he knew his search for a Noivern was still ongoing, there was also the rather pressing matter of trying to round off his rather…lengthy wish list. And some of them contained Dark-types, so hopefully there were some around the area![break][break]

Now, the problem was trying not to trip over the really unsteady terrain because holy shit, this place was entirely rocks, rocks, and even more rocks! When had he been out here the last time?![break][break]

Definitely never, this is my first time here, he thought to himself as he grumbled and scrambled to get some hold on the slippery rocks dotting the area.[break][break]

Did searching for dragons have to be so difficult?!

He’d almost lost his footing and was about to take an unceremonious dive onto the dirt when he caught sight of something flying not too far ahead of him. How Alexei managed to recover his balance before anything else was anyone’s guess at this point, but wow.[break][break]

The moment he saw the Flygon, he knew he had to get it. Who knew that searching outside of Meteor Falls would prove to be better than searching inside it? He didn’t want to waste any more time, so he plucked out a Pokéball at random and tossed it forward, hoping that he hadn’t made the mistake of sending out his bitch queen Salandit, Morgiana.[break][break]

Thankfully it was his scaredy-cat Snorunt, Yukiya—who quickly fired off a barrage of Ice Shard attacks right at the Flygon just as it began whipping up a Sandstorm to hide away in.[break][break]

“Ooh, he thinks he’s tough, huh? Yukiya. Do your thing. And by that I mean cancel out this Sandstorm with your own Hail!” and without further ado the mid-forming howling grit of sand and dust was quickly replaced with a blast of cold air—before chunks of ice began to fall from the sky.[break][break]

“Aim well, we only get one chance! Use your Blizzard attack!” he followed up, and braced himself as the small Ice-type quickly called down a powerful blast of arctic energy, aiming it right at the Flygon who was about to charge forward with an Earth Power attack; an attempt to juggle both Alexei and the Snorunt off-balance.[break][break]

Unfortunately, the first instance of Blizzard stuck to the Flygon, who was now literally encased in a block of ice. “Wow. That’s… I can’t believe this,” he said with a bit of a grin, patting the quivering Snorunt on the head as he chucked an empty Pokéball at the frozen block of draconic ice in front of them.
