[break][break] after some time, persephone emerges into a forested area with foliage so thick that even the light barely passes through. a pin-prick of light, a door. [break][break] with the end of their approach in sight, persephone releases her first pokemon of choice. the cinccino materialises in a burst of light that's almost blinding in the gloom, and rubs at her face with her fluffy paws before turning to her trainer with a squeak of welcome. [break][break] persephone grins and kneels down to be level with the pokemon, rubbing her behind the ears before speaking, her voice hushed as if worried it will disturb the silence. [break][break] "hey harper, we're doing a gym challenge today," she says softly, pausing to think as she remembers some rumours floating around about the gym's strange format. [break][break] "but it might be an unusual one. just trust me, okay?" [break][break] the cinccino pauses to stare up at her trainer, wide-eyed and curious. [break][break]  persephone smiles gently and picks the pokemon up to carry her inside. "i know you'll do great." [break][break] at her words, the cinccino cheeps happily and snuggles against her shoulder, fluffy, warm, and evidently reassured. [break][break] together the duo enter the door leading to the gym's interior. for a moment, persephone pauses to take in the sight. the gym leader's dedication is impressive and obvious in the care put into even the arena itself. [break][break] "good morning!" she calls out to announce her arrival. in her arms, the cinccino swivels around to peer at their surroundings and echoes her with its own greeting chirp.
