Contrary to what would probably be a popular belief about someone in Eva’s profession she could enjoy a setting like this. She wasn’t all that much of a fan of how unsanitary the place was and some of the patrons were annoying as hell but the entertainment could offer some fun and that was most important.

Even if she did think more often than not the performers were a bit lacking in the skill department. Their showmanship could also use a bit more work too, but what’d she expect from underground cage fighting. You came here to watch people fight, not put on some elaborate play.

As the referee worked the crowd Eva watched patiently, waiting for the situation to get settled so there would be more matches. But maybe this was a sign to get back to work, she had plenty to do. The decision wouldn't be one to easily make as she was called out by the referee.

He'd be right on the money, she was excited about this. She thought of it as being a fun exercise, let her babies stretch their legs and let loose, it'd be great. And given the way these fights went, she didn't need to be worried if someone accidentally broke.

"Oh I'd love to!" Eva stood up from her seat and made her way toward the caged ring. "Let's put on a good show." She'd smile at the referee.

"...ooh! that's what i like to hear!" she didn't show her excitement in the same way as priam, but he feels the same energy in her.

he readies his pokeball, before noticing that he forgot something. "any recommendations for the battle format, people?" he asks, before pointing the microphone to the audience. there was a mixture of opinion at first, but they eventually converge to a single format.

"singles it is then."

he lets go of his grip on the cage and releases the dragonair in it. it's elegant and majestic aura does not fit the environment, but its temperament leads everyone to believe that the pokemon feels at home with the setting.

the people cheer at priam's choice of pokemon. these weren't exactly new to everyone: middle-staged pokemon that only has guts and fury to fuel their drive to fight. it makes for a violent fight, but not so much of a show.

"which one are ya using for this, miss...?" whether she mentions her real name or an alias, priam didn't care.

”Pandora will do,” An alias that she had been using many years and one she’s been using more since she joined Rocket. A singles battle was fine with her, she wasn’t the type to get particularly picky about her battles.

As long as they were fun somehow and didn’t bore her she’d do a 6v6 rotation battle while blind folded…that actually didn’t sound bad, to watch at least, actually participating in one sounds like a shit show. Now all she had to do was decided which of her lovelies she was going to be using in this cage battle.

The choice was pretty easy for her to make, Soleil had a good chance of setting the entire place on fire and that probably wasn’t good for business. Eva pulled out the capsule to her Gardevoir as Priam released his Pokémon, a Dragonair. An interesting choice, but one that made Eva smile ever so faintly.

”That’s a pretty Dragonair you have there.” She spoke, releasing her Gardevoir shortly after. Another Pokémon that seemed out of place for this environment but the intense aura that was emanating from the Gardevoir would easily suggest that she was all business and ready to go.

“Alright Artemis, let’s put on a good show for everyone, make it flashy.” The woman called out to her Pokémon who at first didn’t seem keen on the idea of entertaining what the Pokémon deemed to be a group of degenerates but Artemis would do what her trainer wanted.

”So who goes first blue? Me? You? Flip a coin? Rock, paper, scissors?” Regardless the woman felt a bit bad, this was a horrible matchup for the man.

"thanks!"

priam did not care much about what his pokemon looks like as long as they can fight. the dragonair was destined to be a strong dragonite when it grows up anyways. its dainty appearance shouldn't hinder its ability to battle.

when asked on who goes first, priam only gives the obvious answer. "me!" he says in the most enthusiastic voice. "cause i said so!"

a hand bangs on the cage as he utters the first command of the battle "thunder wave!"

electricity surges as it travels towards the gardevoir. paralysis only marked the start of the fight. the move has little visible impact in terms of theatrics, and so there were only gasps of excitement within the crowd instead of outright cheering.

"you don't mind me taking the first move, right?"

It would have been odd if the man didn’t take the opportunity to go first but his eagerness was rather humorous. Well it was more so his reasoning for why he decided to say he was going to go first that was funny. This would go well; Eva would be able to analyze the way the man battles with him going first.

It was a good way to gauge how the flow of the battle was going to go and how seriously Eva was going to have to take this, it at all. And given the man didn’t seem concerned about the match up made her even more curious.

The first move had been decided and he went for a thunder wave, a good first choice. At least in most situations, it would have been, Eva had a “trick” up her sleeve. She did not make command for her Gardevoir and the Pokémon stood strong as it endured the thunder wave, not making much movement as the electricity surged throughout her body.

”Tell me something, blue.” Eva began, and as she did so Artemis’ eyes glowed a bright blue. The Pokémon’s TRACE ability kicked in, copying the SHED SKIN ability of the Dragonair.

”What exactly is the ability of your Dragonair? It’d be a shame if it were shed skin, make what you did here pointless.” This curiosity is why Eva decided to not give Artemis any order, she wanted to see if her hunch was correct and the ability wouldn’t kick in as fast if she had the Gardevoir performing many tasks.

After the trace had been completely the Pokémon’s body was covered in a bright white light which then began to crack and break as if it were made of glass. Sparkles of light filled the air as Gardevoir’s body was revealed looking as if the Pokémon’s body was shined.

Eva shook her head, smiling as she did so. ”Well that’s unfortunate! Want to try again?”

"m-maybe i was just testing your gardevoir's ability! hah!"

if it was synchronize, he would be in an advantage. if it was trace, well, then there would be no harm done. priam did not care about the finer details of the battle as long as he gets to fight anyways.

then again, this wasn't really a fight. this was a show.

"twister!"

winds surged, a cyclone moving through the inside of the cage. the audience would be treated to having their hair destroyed by the gusts of winds while the dragonair used the move to gain an aerial advantage.

he was now at the top of the arena.

”Whatever you say.” Eva laughed.

Might not be the most mentally stimulating fight ever but at least Blue’s personality made it entertaining at least. It was more about putting a show on for the people in the crowd so she shouldn’t expect much.

The winds that were summoned by the Dragonair were annoying, at least for Eva, her Gardevoir didn’t feel anything. The woman grabbed a hold of the metal framing of the cage to prevent herself from being blown around any longer, though the feeling of weightlessness was always fun.

”Moonblast please, Artemis. Let’s put an end to these winds, they’re messing up my hair.” The Gardevoir nodded and then carried out the order firing a blast of energy toward the Dragonair.

the winds help the acceleration of the dragonair's dragon dance, circling through the edges of the cage with the help of the twister as if it was flying.

the dragonair's erratic movements from using the move as well as the motion of the twister help him move away from the trajectory of the moonblast. it continues to follow the currents as it moves all the way to the bottom with an attack ready.

"...and he hits her with an aqua tail!"

the dragonair slinks into the backside of the fairy-type, attempting to sweep her off of her feet with the torrents surrounding his tail.

Eva was a bit surprised by Blue, she hadn’t excepted him to be as slippery has he was being but maybe she should have saw that coming. ”Oh, now she won’t be happy about that.” The Aqua Tail managed to make contact but mere seconds after it did the Gardevoir vanished, teleporting to another part of the arena.

The Pokémon reappeared on the opposite side of the Dragonair, her body floating in the area toward the top part of the caged arena. Her eyes glowed a bright blue, her arm stretched in front of her towards the winds that had become quite the annoyance.

A blue aura surrounded the winds as the Gardevoir exerted her psychic power to grasp a hold on the twister, the Pokémon was using PSYCHIC. With a wave of the Pokémon’s arms, the Twister was split in two, the winds being sent out to either side of the arena and making its way through the stands.

The people watching the show were treated to a nice gust of wind. ”And now let’s have a bit of a scenery change shall we? Use Misty Terrain.” At the command the Gardevoir released a large dome of energy that swallowed the arena.

Eva smiled, what would be Blue’s next move?

"you're going all out now, dragonair!"

the misty terrain does little to keep the spirits of priam down. the only thing they needed to do was to entertain, and he already did his part by having his dragon-type last more than a single move from the dragonair.

the dragonair moves erratically in the air as it dragon danced its way towards the gardevoir, another aqua tail ready to strike the dual-type before it could teleport again.

”Bring it down.”

The Gardevoir’s eyes shined a bright blue yet again and this time instead of dispersing some winds the Pokémon was attempting to extend her psychic will over the Dragonair that was charging for it.

She had no intention of teleporting away this time. In fact, the idea was to end this and wrap things up. If the psychic hold held true the Gardevoir with a flick of her arm would send the Dragon crashing toward the ground below.

"and the dragonair goes down!"

the dragon-type is slammed down to the ground before it managed to connect its attack. though it was still conscious and still had the bravado to try and get up, its poor physical state leaves it no option other than to back down. priam recalls it back to its pokeball despite its willingness to fight, if only because it'd just collapse if it forces itself to move.

that, and this was already a good conclusion to the exhibition.

from the corner of his eyes, he spots the next participants of the cage match. he signals the woman on the other side of the match towards him, perhaps to talk about what happens next with the program. needless to say, priam makes a good transition from their current one to the next show.
