  A: no! just one dragon-type is needed. that's literally the only requirement.

  A: sure! though, dragon sage might be a little hard. but, tbh, we can talk that part over.
• Q: as a main branch ( or even as a sub-branch/distant relative ), do i have to be from blackthorn city or the johto region overall? [break][break]
  
  A: nope! you don't even have to originate from there , but just know that's where it all began for this family and many others who traveled here. though there have been previous people who joined the family through other means. such as becoming a protege, successor, or offering to have your family become a sub-branch of one of the main branches. so, by proxy, you pretty much automatically became a member of this conglomerate; that would make you eligible for 'distant relative' status.
• Q: interested in joining, but how the hell did my character join this?[break][break]
  A: one possibility is that they met up with a dragon master or dragon sage who taught them all they knew. it's preferred they don't share training secrets with others. but, if they do, try not to give away too much. gotta keep it in the family, y'know? if you wanted to further your training, they probably referenced you to another member who's currently within the region. a main branch probably decided to take you on as a distant relative; so, you'd be learning their "branch of discipline". meaning you'd be considered apart of that specific main branch members family, thus making you a distant relative.
• Q: how closely related are we to one another?[break][break]
  A: we're not exactly related by blood, but that's a high belief in this family that that's not exactly what makes us family. it's basically our shared bond over dragon-types and the history surrounding them ( and pokemon in overall ). that's pretty much what makes them a conglomerate. we're all aware of one another's existence. such as character a's dad being close friends with character z's dad but their children don't really fuck with each other like that, but know of them to be apart of the family.
• Q: can there be infighting? like, can i have my clan hate everyone else and want to overthrow or destroy this conglomerate?[break][break]
  A: well, i don't see why not sasuke uchiha! don't be surprised when you get c-c-c-c-clapped. but kindly talk to me about this sort of idea first! but yes, infighting is allowed. you really don't even have to like each other, let's be honest.

  A: basically, the five main branch positions have been replaced numerous of times by a new family who specializes in something that previous family didn't. many families are replaced due to never finding a predecessor, baring children, or because the successor didn't acquire the "dragon sage" title; thus proving them unfit or reliable to carry the burdens of a main branch.
• Q: who is sheidheda?[break][break]
  A: some asshole that was the cause of how our dragon clan was given this name ( but it's okay, because we took that power back and turned this name into something positive...sort of). guy was a grade a dick. but he was banished, but it's believed his banished family/bloodline, who were/are the sixth unspoken main branch, reside somewhere in hoenn. but that's not something people beneath dragon sage and elder status would know.

one of many dragon clans, this group isn't your exact average joe. they are but one of many found and many found in one. this large group lives by a quote, "all of me for all of us." they are: THE HUNDRED DEVOURING FAMILY, a large but hidden clan of dragon worshipers said (believed) to date back no more than 500 years prior.

it is unprecedented as to how long they've been around to be exact, but it is assumed to date back during the construction of the dragon shrine. yes, that exact construction which served as a commemoration for a future where people and pokémon could coexist. a conglomerate family, they serve, like many other tribes and clans, as living proof that that coexistence was possible. divided into a separate branch of five, once upon a time six, those five serve as the main branch of family.

four of them carry their own clan and sub-branch, specializing in one area another clan of the conglomerate may lack. four out of the five main branch, and those of distant relativity and sub-branch status, serve under one head where, out of the five, a single main branch is chosen as acting head. the acting head governs the inclusion, the exclusion, the banishment, and the refinement of the clan overall.

the time period isn't exact. but during the era of where there once resided SIX MAIN BRANCHES, out of those six, one had served as acting head during the time. the acting head was impeached by the other five due to false charges of wanting to rid the other five. once the acting head had been replaced by the sixth main branch (who, as of today, were banished and not heard of for quite a long time), friction emerged with clans outside of the conglomerate who didn't fall under the dragon clan's rule; that didn't bode well with the acting head. there was no need for other rival clans nor dragon owners, the acting head, known as SHIEDHEDA (noun, 'shade-heh-dah'; the dark dragon sage during that era), waged war with those whose clans who didn't fall in line. leading the five branches, and their dragons, to war against their very own.

it was never recorded in the clan's history as to what happened to sheidheda during the dragon war. but, as far as those apart of the conglomerate were aware, the sixth main branch was banished from the family. after their disposal, the family were unable to wipe what they left off of their name. a stain upon the family's name, it was during the period of sheidheda's reign that it earned them the famous title, 'THE HUNDRED DEVOURING FAMILIES'.

the name was tethered to the long forgotten battle that was caused by sheidheda. a story past down from generation to generation, with a slight shift in detail every now and then. nonetheless, the story was all but a telltale. it was all due to that horrific event of dragon pokemon being forced to fight against those who raised them and their fellow kin that, for shiedheda, they devoured many who stood in his, and the conglomerate's, way.

the ancestors of old regret ever following sheidheda's command. so, in order to atone, they made sure to erase any information upon the sixth branch and sheidheda. forcing those, outside of the main branch, to believe that there were, and always will be, five branches. it is believed by the DRAGON ELDERS that sheidheda's bloodline and the banished clan are somewhere out there--still alive. residing within a neighboring region biding their time and building themselves an army, once more, to wage war with the dragons under their command. that branch, after all, served as a jack of all trades. they lacked in no area compared to the other five branches. sheidheda's influence and skills were just that great, how else do you think he swindled four branches?

but that's exactly why the hundred devouring family build their relations and gather as many proteges as possible. just in case sheidheda's progeny were to suddenly emerge. it's also why those who obtain the status of 'dragon tamer' or 'dragon master' are sometimes sent out of the johto region to further their training. in order to grow, you need to gain new experiences. something you can't gain from being in one place. it's not easy to become a sage, our tradition is different compared to other clans if you're seeking to enhance your rank."

• DRAGON ELDER, the highest title one could only dream of achieving. there have only been three throughout generations to wield the title of a dragon elder. but it's unknown as to how one can achieve such a high title. the secret was kept hidden, but with good intention. to serve as a challenge for those who dared to take on the task. it's only a rumor, but it's said that, "the stairway to heaven must be taken in order to reach the king, but you cannot reach the king without first finding his jade crown. only then will you be given the ultimate test," and that's it. BRANCH OF DISCIPLINE: the "BATTLE SPECIALISTS," the mcqueen family specialize in the art of combat and pokémon raising. a strict clan that puts their teachings and credo above personal gain, the mcqueen name has become one of the biggest ( if not the biggest ) household name within the world of martial arts. both marital artist and pokémon alike travel far and wide to train under the mcqueen tutelage and embrace the philosophy alongside the fighting styles they have to offer within their walls. the current head of the clan, marcus mcqueen, has made quite the name for himself in both the world of pokémon and martial arts—he is considered a champion in both regards. the current heir to the family; chancelor mcqueen is destined to walk in the goliath sized footsteps his father has taken to get to where he is today. unlike most of the branches, chancelor is actually the youngest out of his nine other siblings yet is the current heir with all eyes on him. the mcqueen teachings are foreign to all the other families; they feel they have no reason to explain how things are done as long as the heir is up to the task bestowed upon them. that being said, currently, chancelor holds the title with pride and is currently preparing himself to take over the compound and continue the legacy his father and forefathers forged.

ORIGIN: having fought the gyms within johto, blackthorn was kyle's final stop. fighting against the gym leader, mateo, they were both but simple teenagers. one who had lost his love for battling and one who lacked spirit, both, somehow, brought that out of each other. with an intense battle came out--somewhat--a mutual respect for one another. kyle spent sometime within blackthorn afterwards, eventually capturing the, then, dragon tamer's eye. it was because of mateo martinez 's plea that kyle became a member of the clan. with mateo's teaching and assistance in helping kyle raise his first dragon, kyle was able to become a successful dragon tamer; though, not without a few headbutts between he and mateo along the way.
