Rose had read somewhere that women made better fishermen than men. Pheromones or the likes. She wasn't about to argue that, but was going to test for the validity of this speculation. Hardly squeamish, with delicate fingers she threads the worm onto the hook, careful not to snag herself. With a gentle tug, she checks it's secure and rather gracefully flings the bobber towards the pool of water.[break][break]

As the bobber hits the surface, a wide ripple echoes outwards, stilling as it settles. Rose waits for a few moments, contentedly watching the water for any movement which might indicate action. Patiently she waits, and when the bobber dips below the surface, she's ready. With a swift jerk of her pole, she hooks a fish and eagerly pulls it up for inspection.[break][break]

Bryony cannot recall a single point in her life when she has gone fishing and standing now, before the water, fishing rod in hand and bobber floating at the surface, she can see why. This is boring. This is terrible. She hates this.

But she must persist.

She stares at the water, determined to get at least something more than a piece of kelp or a tin can. How she's managed to hook a tin can and an old boot is beyond her but the two garbage items at her side. This time, it'll be a magikarp. It has to be. It better be or she's going to cry.

There's a tug at the end of her line. Bryony squeaks and begins the ardenuous task of reeling it in.

kyle went fishing some times. it wasn't a physically demanding task and he eventually grew on it cause it only required patience instead of actual hard work.

sitting on his line, he lazily plays with his phone on one hand while his other supported the rod. his line eventually gets a bite, startling him. both of his hands immediately went for the fishing rod, with his phone being caught by his mightyena before it hit the ground.

feeling the force go against his pull, he starts reeling the line in.

Morgan usually did not like silence, silence was difficult to maintain and hard to handle. His thoughts usually swarmed his mind with fears and anxieties and past regrets, but fishing was an altogether different matter. Perhaps it was the calming effect of listening to the water and just watching the clouds, or perhaps it was the feeling of being able to hook something that was born more stupid than he was. Either way, it was better than sulking in his room. The wriggle of the rod indicated a catch, and Morgan yanked hard to secure the 'Karp.

cait's line grew taut, the surprising amount of movement present at the end of her hook very nearly causing her to drop the rod altogether. she was generally inexperienced when it came to fishing but she managed to succeed at reeling in whomever had taken her bait.

Lenora stares at the water with complete and utter disgust, delicate hands wrapped around the unpleasant handle of a fishing rod. Sucking a breath in between clenched teeth, she regains herself and puts her usual expression back in place.

She looks to Magnus beside her and gives him an affectionate pat on the side. "What if you go in there and catch one?" she asks. Magnus stares at her with his usual dead eyed expression and Lenora, in turn, breathes out a huff.

Did—did it really, seriously HAVE to be Magikarp?

Lars could only scratch his head. It had been—what, several days since the ‘kaiju incident’ had passed, and now here they were all over again in Slateport.

Why couldn’t it have been Feebas, those are way uglier… he thought as he was handed a net—wait, was the net seriously made of thin, flimsy paper stretched across a large frame.

“Is this seriously going to be able to catch that?” he asks the person tending the stall, to which he gets a very excited answer. He could only guess what the fuck was going on, and shrugs.

“Alright, fine, don’t blame me if I can’t catch shit,” he says with a sigh as he dips the net in, trying to go after the first Magikarp that would flop itself into the unfortunate trap that he was now swinging around in the tank.

Inari is, for a change, content. He's never gone fishing but after understanding the basics of it, he can safely say he is quite a fan. It's relaxing, simple, and a nice way to pass time and enjoy the fresh air.

Situated as far from everyone else as he can get (which is not very far), Kingsley hums as he hooks bait onto his fishing pole and then slings it forward. The water ripples around the bobber and he watches it from behind a pair of large sunglasses.
