Well, it wasn’t like he was only useful when it came to aerial recon, right?[break][break]

Most of, if not all of his Flying-types (and the not-so-Flying ones as well) could pack a serious punch, never mind the glaring obvious weakness to Electric-type attacks… unless their sub-type protected them from it, like Salamence’s.[break][break]

Anyway, he was out in the back, over at the training grounds.[break][break]

Letting out a little sigh, he could only guess why it was deserted. Had everyone gone on recklessly into battle again? What the hell, guys? Really?[break][break]

Either way, he was at the back, surrounded by the other members of the flock who weren’t on aerial ‘guard duty’ at the moment.[break][break]

Of course, leading the charge was his Flygon. He had to give the dragonfly Pokémon some practice, too! Now the question was:[break][break]

[attr="class","spiral"]a feud between houses only lasts as long as the war front does. when repairs come into question a truce is brought on, not out of mercy but because there is nothing left to fight over. outside of their obvious skirmishes is the intermingling of participants who often tour the other's facilities, making meager exchanges with their would be opponents over the month.

the canaries are no exception to the rule. his attempt to visit persephone amavi proves more difficult than he had originally sought and fernando attributes it to her being perpetually busy. a woman of many talents is drawn to many sources, and arguably she has more responsibilities and less obligations to be here than him.

fernando peers into the training ground with a sense of caution and curiosity. he could only imagine who he'd find out here training while the other houses were undergoing repair. who'd have thought it'd be fortree's elusive gym leader?

fernando stands there silently, observing. his smile is prim and proper but he doesn't make any outward attempts to reach for alexei's attention. there's no need to interrupt when fernando can patiently await his turn.

He’d gotten so self-absorbed he hadn’t noticed that he was being watched.[break][break]

With several more bursts of light, four more join the Flygon—each unfurling and spreading their wings as they mostly take to the skies. “Gabe, help out Mau here, will you? You’re the better fighter. Show him how you do things,” he says, and with a tilt of the head the Salamence flew off to join the Flygon.[break][break]

The Noivern watches them curiously, before taking off and perching himself atop one of the training posts and picking at his wing. “Fen? You okay?” he asks the Noivern, to which he gets a soft humming sound of approval. “Kind of worried there. When you feel like it—join them, okay? Be with dragons your age,” he adds with a bit of a grin before looking over at Terra and Kyouya.[break][break]

While the Braviary is busy picking at some itching feathers, the Aerodactyl’s the one who notices that they’re not alone. Letting out a sharp cry, the Fossil Pokémon points one of his wings at the other presence he’d spotted.[break][break]

“Hm? Terra, what is—“ he begins, following the direction where the wing is pointed.[break][break]

And it’s here he realizes that he’s no longer alone.[break][break]

“Wait, aren’t you—“ he begins, tensing up for a few moments. While the rest of his avians are out on patrol and recon around the Canary base, right now he feels a little vulnerable without the rest of his Hurricane team.

"just another participant," he answers wryly, finishing alexie's sentence for him.

"it's not often you get to see the fortree gym leader in action."
