He collapses again, entering a mild seizure as his body writhes in reaction to the Guzzlord sample. This time however his consciousness is not wracked with pain but ferried away through a variety of drawn out flashbacks. [break][break][BREAK] [break][break] It starts in Mossdeep, deep in the trenches of the overturned streets. Lucas stares straight into the Guzzlord's tower mass and it stares back, lifting a foot in order to squash him like the puny bug that he is. But when the foot comes down it isn't him who goes splat. His view becomes distorted and he takes a third person perspective over the scene, watching from above as his Beheeyem gets plastered onto the windows of Nikolai's dye shop. [break][break] Lucas blinks and the scene cuts out. He's now in Sootopolis, watching over freya morningstar as she is barely able to keep herself together several days after Mossdeep. Her own wounds become apparent as she limps forward, hiding in the recesses of the Morningstar Estate's caverns. Tears weigh on both eyes, waiting for her to give in to the plight of her Salamence, Lyune. She feels powerless and it overtakes her. She is not worthy and the mark of Victini is absent from her features. [break][break] Each moment dissipates into the next and Lucas realizes he's no longer watching Freya. His sights hone in on Bailey Cooper in the midst of her battle with Mauville's cait alfric. The VICTORY STAR glows earnestly on her collar bone as she clenches her fist in anticipation of her game changing tactic. " —but we're playing a different type of game." Fire radiates from her chest and she breaths out nothing but heat, steaming as her body ignites in a blaze of fury. [break][break] " No matter what, protect Victini!" [break][break] The last leg of his journey brings him back into the throes of conflict. His Cofagrigus creates a TRICK ROOM around them and he watches in horror as Bailey finds her speed inverted, slowing her down just enough for the Guzzlord to break through and swallow her whole. He can see the horror leap from her face before she disappears into the Guzzlord's endless void. It continues to expand, sucking everything in until Lucas falls victim to it as well, plunging him into an eternal darkness. [break][break] When he comes to, the pain will have subsided with the VICTORY STAR embroidered onto his skin permanently. Over time, it may fade, but it'll resurface when triggered. As long as Lucas never gives in, the power of victory will always be in his hands. It is up to him to turn his win condition into a reality — against all odds and every adversity that dares stand in his way.
