The streets are alive with people. She blends in with relative ease, although if it were up to her then she'd command all of their attention. Is it so wrong to have such a carnal need for someone to pay her any mind?

Attention seeking isn't a trait most like to boast about. It certainly has a sort of negative connotation but for her? It's a basic human right she was deprived of. It's natural for her to want it, almost like breathing air or drinking water. Although she supposes that it takes skill to command the ever fleeting attention of the masses these days. They need a push, whether it's in the form of a threat or an event, and she just isn't creative enough to meet those requirements.

Instead, she dresses differently, styles her hair in a way that will garner the looks she desires.

Pigtails of long freshly dyed strawberry blonde, a red plaid skirt and a white button up, knee high boots. Light makeup accents already striking features, a secretive smirk curling at her lips. A few looks here and there are earned but not nearly enough... It'll suffice for now and yet, soon the hunger will strike again. The emptiness will sit for too long and she'll be back to where she started. Grasping at straws, trying anything and everything to replenish and refill the void. Nothing can truly replicate that parental love but she'll be damned if she doesn't try.

Cloud lazily move overhead and she finds herself resting on a park bench, pale blue eyes following the sky's movements with little care. Boredom wraps around her with tight fingers. People watching, cloud watching... The options are slim for entertainment and so she simply leans back into the bench, a huff of annoyance escaping out into the air. "Ridiculous," she murmurs. "There's really nothing happening?" A disgrace, really. A huge city like this and no excitement in the air? What's a girl gotta do to have a little entertainment in her life? Cherry merely groans and begins to accept defeat, an idle hand swirling a stray piece of hair around lazy fingers. If her day is going to consist of looking at clouds then she almost wishes someone would just knock her out right then and there. When she starts to believe even being punched would be better than this current sad excuse of a day... That's when she knows the need for excitement is starting to eat at her insides. "Stupid." The word is a little more than a soft growl as she tears her eyes from the sky to focus on the people filtering in and out of the park. Maybe she should just approach someone and casually strike up a conversation? God what would she even talk about? When she left home, she never thought it would be so difficult to make even a single friend but now? Part of her definitely regrets it but scouring the city for company will always be better than begging for love from a family that never cared. And so, without another thought, she climbs to her feet and begins another lap around the lush greenery in hopes that someone will capture her interest...

[attr="class","spiral"] Fernando is her anti-thesis. The man submerges himself into events that bask him in the attention of others. He has a spark that drives others to look upon him in both awe and disgust. The power he holds in the region's seated political party, the title that comes from being CEO of one of the world's largest companies, and the responsibilities of being an avatar to a legendary Pokemon culminate to being bathed in a perpetual spotlight. There is hardly a person who does not recognize or know of Fernando Silph. However, he asks for none of this and cares even less about the attention of others. They're nothing more than sheep, Durants that gossip and waste their time on trivial matters that keep them on the lower echelons of the social caste.

Those who crave attention must create it and to only those that face adversity have the right to demand the acknowledgement that comes with it.

Tapu Fini is the exception to the rule and the legendary Pokemon remains apathetic to those that lay eager eyes on the mysterious Island Spirit Pokemon. Ever since the Aqua Festival, the Pokemon has claimed Hoenn as its own and finds a perpetual need to explore the land in search of a spot that's laden with the same energy of Alola. Contrary to how he treats the rest of his Pokemon, he allows it to roam freely and even follows it. The change in dynamic is offsetting but the power of a legendary is one he does not take lightly.

Near the dead center of the park, Councilman Silph stands before a great oak tree, observing the Tapu lay a hand onto the hardwood and coat it in a pink glow.

The way both he and his Pokemon ensnare her attention is cause for petty jealousy.

How does one work a room like that? Commanding attention has never been her strong suit whereas this man seems to have it down to a perfect science. She gazes at him, slowing to a stop in what is surely her fourth time lapping the park. Could she learn that? How does someone even learn to garner attention just by existing?

Her eyes shift from the man to the Pokemon he's following, blue narrowing at the emergence of a pink glow. Funny, she's never seen a Pokemon do that before... Sauntering closer, Cherry announces her arrival with a twirl of a strawberry blonde pigtail and a dazzling smile. "That's interesting," she muses to the man, oblivious to if she is interrupting his alone time or not. Besides, it's bold of him to pay her no mind at all. A just reaction, she supposes, but incorrect all the same. No matter, she'll snag his attention at any costs.

"Is this a usual happening for you?" Cherry presses, slinking to his left side without a second thought. The perfect spot for the show his Pokemon is putting on, dazzling in all its wonderful glow. She watches from this point, idly swirling her hair further around pale fingers. Pink like the glow, pink in the name of eyes on her. Perhaps if her hair glowed like that then she could capture the masses as this Pokemon has just done with her. Marvelous... She should be taking notes!

Glancing at the man, she opens her mouth once more, if only to provide yet another disturbance in his concentration. "Can I ask what it's doing?" Her curiosity is getting the better of her, sure, but most of all she wants to understand the show before her. If she can understand then perhaps maybe, one day, she could hope to replicate it... If only it were that simple and if only she isn't as easily forgotten as the ants scurrying atop the ground.

[attr="class","spiral"] Interesting is an understatement. Not even Fernando fully comprehends what the Pokemon is truly trying to accomplish but his commentary is muted. Observation is best done in silence and it isn't until someone else joins in does Fernando get coerced into interaction.

"I don't know," he answers with a vigilant vagueness. He has a hint but truthfully Fernando has little to no understanding of the alolan Pokemon. Most of the knowledge surrounding myths revolve around Hoenn and more religious beasts. The braille of Sootopolis paints a picture of the past while the tales of the Tapus are a more isolated tale of a region he cares little about.

"If I had to guess it's siphoning off energy." While incorrect, that's Fernando best possible guess considering the limited information he has on the Pokemon. Upon closer observation, the pink glow seems to circulate in a loop between the tree and the Pokemon, dim pulses of light sparking off intermittently.

His answer leaves little understanding for the strawberry blonde. She merely blinks at him, confusion writing itself onto her features. How does he not know? This is his Pokemon, is it not? She resists the urge to push it further, instead falling into silence beside him.

He speaks again and she continues to stare, blue eyes shifting between the man beside her and the glowing display. Siphoning energy? Pokemon are actually capable of such a feat? "Why?" The question is simple and yet, complicated. For all she knows, there's some big lengthy scientific reason that she simply doesn't care for. Perhaps she should instead ask why here, in the middle of this park? Why not the ruins scattering across the region? Better yet, why not a different region? She's heard of different places housing incredible things, from Pokemon to cities to weapons. Is that energy not good enough for this show? Is it not enough?

"Does it do this everywhere it goes?" Her curiosity is barely contained. The urge to understand, to learn, to hopefully copy is surging in her veins. She wants to know more, wants to see more of this impressive display if only to pick it apart for her own selfish desires. With a tilted head, she stares at the man beside her more than his glowing Pokemon, searching for something useful for herself, hints of a game fueling her. She'll understand, that's the goal of this. The way to win the game and she always does. She just needs some clues first... "You just let it do it's thing and watch? A spectator at a show?"

[attr="class","spiral"] "I don't know," he repeats with an equally baffled expression. His eyes narrow in and he tries to convey how little he knows about the Pokemon through his facial expression. Instead, he tempers himself and, against his better judgement, entertains her follow up question. "It's only the third time I've seen Tapu Fini do it myself."

Her last question is the most bizarre and Fernando finds himself unable to comprehend her probing. What exactly is she pointing at. At first, he assumed it was just innate curiosity but the way she phrases her words, her choice in diction, that reeks of a certain type of queerness. "I'm not one to tamper with legendary Pokemon," he lies, "regardless of what they're doing."
