[attr="class","anyapost"]shiva and kain pad slowly in front of her, ears perked, manes a muted flame. their excitement is a tense one, a subtle one, and she knows it will take only an instant for the rubber band to snap, for their claws to unsheathe and the bloodlust to take them over. 

normally she doesn't fancy hunting trips like this, at least not ones where she expects to walk away with a fresh catch. but today isn't about letting off steam. 

while adding credibility to her public profile by visiting  a local coffee shop in lilycove, she'd found the ad in the safari zone's current selection. and it was on a whim that she'd taken katya to the mainland to end up here. 

she's been doing things like that lately--unprompted, irrational things.

[attr="class","anyapost"]the lions pause. their ears perk, tails flicking, and they share a glance. they look back at anya. she pushes her chin forward. they know what they're looking for. they know which to leave in pieces, which to fetch for her. 

and so they take off, leaving anya trailing behind. there are snarls in the distance, the sound of a scuffle. she leaves them to it. 

while she's studying the plant life, enjoying the sun on her face, her lions feast.

[attr="class","anyapost"]there are screeches, for a few brief moments. supersonic cries make her flinch. annoyance comes and fades and she looks fondly upon her predators as they return to her with blood-stained lips, tongues flicking out to swipe at their maws. 

shiva sits to groom herself while kain moves on ahead, scouting for their master. and when he lifts his head a second time, this time there is a lack of urgency. 

he leads her to the fennekin and she nods towards him. it's a puny thing and falls prey to his claws rather quickly. though it struggles, spitting and hissing in anger as it writhes in the big cat's paws. 

she chuckles and tosses a safari ball after kain presses his weight into its throat.

[attr="class","anyapost"]there's another for the hungry. just as the ball below her stills and kain lifts his paw, there's a rustle in the underbrush. 

something had been watching, and it wasn't happy. it hisses and flutters towards them, fangs bared, and shiva is there to bat it out of the sky. it hits the ground, skitters, gathers itself, and the two lions snarl as its scent hits their nose. prey. 

but anya's sharp voice rings out before they can pounce and rip and tear and destroy. because its fur and its scales are off and she can't help the curling smile, the falsetto apology that falls from her lips to her beasts. 

"catch." they stalk forward and she cracks her heel into the ground, a snap of warning. they grumble, snarl, but attack with sheathed paws nonetheless, bat it around until it's desperate and mewling. scorch marks mar its flesh. 

it'll still fetch a neat price in the black market.

[attr="class","anyapost"]the lions grow restless, thirst not yet slaked. and their disappointment only rises when they lead anya to the query of their next hunt. the houndour is a small little thing, but still she raises her hackles at the approaching foes, spitting embers in warning. 

anya admires her spunk, but does not take pity on her. shiva is given the orders to handle her roughly, to push her as far as she can take it. and when the dog is bloodied, beaten, and bruised, muscles twitching at anya's feet and whimpering in pain, only then does she throw her last safari ball.
