“Wait a second. Shouldn’t we all be trying to dig the same hole, instead of twenty different ones?” It wasn’t as if Annie could see most of what everybody else was doing. Other than the sounds and flashes of lights that came with various attacks, she had next to no clue what was going on. “Ah, whatever. Kit, why don’t you go and help somebody out? …Huh?” The Zoroark approached her, strange bone in hand. They didn’t need a bone, but somebody else might. Somebody that would trade money for it.

The girl quietly stashed the bone away, pet her beast atop his head, and sent him on his way.

“Sune, we’ve got a little more room in there! Let loose with a Flamethrower!” The little fox belted the snow with a jet of flames larger than her own body. Combined with the Litten’s efforts, they had to make progress soon… Right?

The snow sure doesn't give a soft white damn about where it falls; ice seems less forgiving. Adamantine, a frozen cage.

The Highland is detatched from any warmth, just cold marble and glass all ensconced by great floods of snow; an entity quite separate from the convivial landscape he'd seen earlier.

he reached in and let out kaiju, his lovable new crocanaw who did a little dancing jig for finally being let out. "hey kaiju! start tearing through this snow will ya buddy? we don't wanna end up as Popsicle, i ain't got no flavor. well cept torchic spicy but that's something else." the lizard gave a salute and began to dig his way into the tunnel with his own claws, the cold slowing him down but he was a trooper. he could get through this!

HOPE BEGINS TO MOUNT as Kazimir Wynter's croconaw dances into the cleaving of snow. while, evan fader's musharna psychically transfers clouds of snow, milo sharpe's leafeon slices through the surprisingly tough armors of iced snow, the wall breaks further. the promise of liberation coming in the water and glacial crumbs that scatter on to the lodge floor. a small shaft exposes itself; this late in the evening, there is no light. however, the whistling of frigid winds blows through.[break][break]

it is Annie Mei's and Florian Laurel's attacks of flame and horn that allow the wall to collapse further. as the snow topples, two slabs of stone clunk on to the floor. two fossils, exposed by the turbulence of an avalanche, rest at their feet.[break][break]

AN ANGUISHED GROAN HEAVES FROM ABOVE. before anyone can react, a portion of the lodge's roof collapses underneath the weight of snow. wood and ice slam on to the ground, forcing several pokemon and attendees to scatter before they are clobbered underneath the rubble.[break][break]

She's nearly breaking a sweat despite the freezing cold suffocating the area. Someone else has broken through the walls of snow and ice, but with it brings a new danger: the roof was beginning to collapse.[break][break]

Snow falls from the roof and the Oricorio scatter to the side, wings wrapping around each other as they narrowly avoid being buried alive. Torkoal finds himself temporarily halted by the downfall of snow, but he melts it off of his warm shell and shakes the wet off of his back.[break][break]

Meanwhile, Stormy wipes her hands on her dress again and continues to encourage Flareon along while she and Oswald's Pokemon continue to push through the snow.[break][break]

Everything was happening so fast, from his supposed date’s facade breaking, to the sudden surge of snow that sidled against the cabinside. His body instinctively turned to the Zoroark, forcing him to hurry to a tissue-paper clad Najwa’s side, releasing a Gothorita- properly adorned with her own outfit for the evening- who would quickly cover a large portion of the wall with a translucent forcefield. The councilman sends a, “Thank you.” the Gothorita’s way before returning attention to Najwa, twisting and turning her every which way as he threw tissue paper aside idly.

“You’re not hurt are you, Na?” He said in a somewhat worried tone, as he waved the Gothorita over. “Healing Pulse.” The man commanded offhandedly, the Gothorita obeying with a huff, releasing a wave of healing around her immediate area.

Of course there was still the issue of being snowed in to be handled, but that was less important than the wellbeing of his date, Kim nonchilantly tossing out a few balls; sending a Persian, Ambipom, and Teddiursa to dig their escape.

the dogs doing their digging things were so cute that kyle just has to pull out his phone and record it. improvements were made, but there was no better improvement than his dogs finally putting a smile on his face for the first time in this event.

one of them returns to him with a bone and he takes away the focus from the others to the one that got it. it starts to wag its tail as it waits for the approval of his trainer.

it melts kyle's heart so much that he just can't resist holding the phone with one hand and using his other to pet him.

the sound of falling debris was enough to break kazimir's concentration as he turned around just in time to see bits of the roof fall from above and nearly crush a few of the party goers. "dammnit!" people were in trouble. "dammnit dammnit! people were in serious goddamn trouble. the thought repeated itself in his head and without even thinking he withdrew the rest of his team from their pokeballs. a cubone, riolu, staryu, and a ferrothorn all confused at what was going on.

"EVERYONE GET SOMEWHERE SAFE OR HELP US DIG OUTTA HERE. C'MON WE CAN DO THIS PEOPLE! DON'T LET THE WEATHER BE OUR PARTY POOPER!"

his throat ached with a soreness he never felt before and his heartbeat was quickening with each passing second. "hyah and ferro, don't let the roof of this place fall on us ya hear? the rest of you guys, let's get this tunnel done with!" he ordered to his team, all of which cried in support.

the staryu hopped over to the pile of debris and with a glow of its gem used its psychic powers to lift it back and press it against the hole it made. ferrothorn extended all of its power whips up to the roof and pushed against it, acting like additional support beams to keep the place from collapsing. while alone the two would not let this place fall.

tigger and kaiju both stopped to catch their breaths as the rest of their brothers joined up with them. the crocanaw let out a cry of frustration as its usual happy dancing was one of anger and frustration, it gathered its strength and began clawing into the snow with some kind of superpower strength to it. slammer the cubone was right beside it using his trusty bone to dig away at it like a shovel in a mad bone rush. tigger and skywalker both looked at each other and the riolu gave the litten a plan to work with; litten resumed with a flamethrower to melt the ice while skywalker studied the litten and like a copycat put his paws together to unleash his own flamethrower

Fernando says nothing, looking around at the others before returning to his own exit. Rather than pile all their efforts on one end, it may be beneficial to spread out to see if they can find at least one passage of escape.

The roof was beginning to fall down around them and Ruby's panic only increased in worry. Some bones had fallen from the snow by her feet, which admittedly only scared her even more. Bones? Things had died in this snow? If it wasn't for Darling's gentle touch, she feared she would have panicked almost entirely. She quickly breathed in and out trying to relax. Opal outside would be fine. She couldn't freeze to death, and with her size, the snow was probably not even that bad... Or at least, she hoped.

Noticing everyone else's incredible efforts to try and escape from this beautiful ballroom turned prison, Ruby glanced down at Darling, fear in her voice as she whispered just barely loud enough to speak. "D-darling... Use Helping Hand. Help them get us out of here."

Darling nodded and curtsied politely towards Ruby, before hesitantly letting go of her hand and stepping back a little bit. Suddenly closing their eyes and humming softly. Their body covered in a multi-colored aura, the encouraging psychic presence could definitely be felt by those in the room who probably needed it the most.

A Zoroark's approach captures Florian's attention; it approaches with purpose, digging in the snow next to his Rapidash. Laverre snorts and looks down at the strange Pokemon with a huff, but gets over herself when she notices how much progress it's making with the fast movement of its paws.

"That's it, Laverre! You two can do it!"

With a loud whinny, the equine Pokemon trots back a few paces and then charges forward with the megahorn that hits the break that Zoroark had been making and causes snow to topple and cave in. With it comes two fossils, and Florian bends down to lift the closest one in his grasp.

"Thank you," he calls to Annie, having noticed her. "Your Zoroark helped us break through over here!"

His Rapidash is practically preening, proud of herself, but it's not over yet.

The ceiling groans under the weight of ice and snow, and Florian dives out of the way as it cracks and caves in. He scrabbles to his feet with adrenaline coursing through his veins, oblivious to the fact that he's cut his arm on a chunk of rock and is now scattering drops of red among the white snow.

"Fuck," he says, and he doesn't usually swear, but this is bad. "Don't stop, keep digging!"

After allowing his vileplume to exhaust itself to no avail, Adrian withdraws his pokemon before the plummeting temperature forces it into a deep sleep. Considering the scale of the situation, and their slightly more than meager progress, he considers a few drastic measures...

...But having Iconoclast [Tyranitar] cause an Earthquake seems liable to bury them even deeper, rather than shake the snow off. Reign [Corviknight] is equally mismatched to their current dilemma, and so is Furor [Gyarados]. But it's all he had.
