born in dewford, life never intended to be anything more than idyllic and quaint for her.

everything was thrown to the wind when nubia's parents died when she was eight. both being pokemon researchers, there were times when they became too carried away with their work and became lost in the middle of things.

nenet, her older sister, was forced to take care of nubia. she made the choice to relocate them to slateport city, a city with a higher population and what she figured to be a lower cost of living.

nenet made the decision to funnel all of their savings into an insane idea: a hotel. she swore to nubia they wouldn't get lost in the bustle of the city, they would make a proper life for themselves.

they were able to purchase a hovel of a building, which nenet and nubia were able to renovate due to sparking an interest and liveliness in their fellow neighbors. enthused to assist the sister duo, they received both donations of monetary value and skills that would lead to the opening of their hotel: the sea shanty inn.

nubia's entire childhood consisted of their hotel. she grew to love working their as much as she adored nenent, finding the work extremely satisfying and fulfilling.

nenet claimed primary ownership over the hotel, something that doesn't bother nubia because her desires are split between the inn and the rest of the world.

she began to grow intrigued with the different types of travels, their pokemon, and all of the stories they would tell. she was eleven when she told her sister that she wanted to catch her own.

nubia caught her first pokemon, rilou, when she was fifteen. from that point on, she knew she would be equal parts a trainer and hotelier.

her time is split roughly between the seaside shanty and the rest of her interests. nenet only tries to reach out to her when she desperately needs her sister assistance.
