Back in the safari she does, feeling a little more confident than the last time. This isn't her first rodeo, after all! It's her second so she should be equipped to handle this trip, right? Still, she feels uneasy, stepping lightly through the foliage. Flammae follows close at her heels, surveying their surroundings as they go.[break][break]

Perhaps this time she should be a little more proactive and search for Pokemon instead of just stumbling upon them? Is that what she's supposed to do? Last time, they just kind of appeared... Does everyone search? Or wait? God, it might as well be her first time again. It's so embarrassing to still not have a clue as to what to do.[break][break]

With a sigh, she simply wanders, careful to watch her step. The last thing she needs to is trip and fall... She'd probably die of mortification.

So far, so good.[break][break]

It isn't long before a Pokemon finds them, although she would have preferred more ideal circumstances? The Rookidee catches her off guard, coming from a nearby tree in a swooping motion. She ducks, hands flying up to protect her head. It isn't effective, she notes with a panicked squeal, as the little bird is undeterred and promptly buries itself in her hair.[break][break]

"No, no," she begins to shriek, hair tangling around the bird. "My hair is not for you to sleep in, little one!" Sure, it's an unruly mess of black and probably would be the perfect birdnest, but not today! She glances at Flammae for help before quickly realizing that her help would only cost her hair... And so, with trembling fingers, she begins the tedious task of untangling the bird from her hair.[break][break]

It takes a few minutes and a lot of painful whimpers, but she's successful in her task, cupped hands emerging with the Rookidee safely within her grasp. "You shouldn't make someone's head a nest, you know," she scolds, earning an irritated look from the disturbed bird. He had gotten quite comfy, after all. "It's not very nice!" The Rookidee squawks back in what seems like defiance, weaseling away from her grasp.[break][break]

The little bird breaks away from her hold and flies away, more than likely seeking the next victim in its quest for finding the perfect head to nest on. "I hope you find what you're looking for!" She calls after it with a small smile before gesturing toward Flammae for them to continue.[break][break]

She's always been a sucker for a cute puppy.[break][break]

This Growlithe is no exception. All bushy tailed and fluffy, the perfect dog really. It's kind as well, curious and unafraid as it waltzes up to the woman and her Ninetales. The two Pokemon sniff at each other, Flammae slightly dwarfing the puppy. "You're adorable!" She coos, crouching to get closer.[break][break]

The Growlithe yips at her, tail wagging with excitement. It wants to play, it seems... Well, she'll indulge it for now. A little playtime never hurt anyone![break][break]

They part after a while, the Growlithe having been worn out from a little game of fetch. It wanders off to take a nap, a tired yip it's only parting remark. Perhaps their paths will cross later, when the puppy is ready for more playtime... For now, they continue, a branch snapping beneath her feet as she goes.[break][break]

This is going smoothly, right?[break][break]

Well, besides the Rookidee that tried to nest in her hair. Otherwise, it's going pretty well![break][break]

She seems to speak too soon, however, as a charging bull enters the fray. A Bouffalant seems to come from nowhere, freely charging into the open area with little care for its surroundings. The shrill shriek that escapes her startles it and she darts for cover, eyes wide with panic.[break][break]

"I'm so sorry!" She calls once safely behind a tree trunk. It's odd to apologize to the bull but... Well, she is technically trespassing on its property? The Bouffalant merely snorts at the words and continues on, charging away without another thought. She heaves out a sigh once she hears the fading clomping of hooves. That was close, she muses.[break][break]

With a weary smile and slightly trembling legs, she turns toward Flammae. "I guess we should continue, right?" The Ninetales offers a soft yip and begins to lead the way, treading further into the safari with a swish of her tails. Funny, Illeana is almost grateful for the opportunity to merely follow. It'll give her time to catch her breath after almost getting run down by a bull...[break][break]

It isn't long before another Pokemon crosses the duo's path. This time, it's a pleasant encounter.[break][break]

A little Tepig wanders too far from its friends, confused and turned around as it trots about in a small circle. The woman stares at first, a little confusion of her own knitting her brow. Flammae is the first to move, stalking forward with a swish of her tails. She is kind in her approach, steps light with a soft yip of acknowledgement. Ever the motherly figure, it seems... She's been like this since she evolved, fawning over the younger members of the scientist's team. It's cute, really, something Illeana admires.[break][break]

"Are you lost?" She murmurs, following her Ninetales to crouch beside the fox. The Tepig squeaks, confusion turning into slight concern. Oh no, she didn't want to spook the poor thing! With a gentle smile, she reaches out a hand. "We can help you back to your friends if you'd like?" At her side, Flammae offers a soft coo, features softer than usual. The little piglet seems frightened and lost... It's only right for them to help in any way they can.[break][break]

With a squeak, the Tepig bounces in place for a moment before darting toward the bushes, the woman and her Ninetales following suit. Together, the trio manage to find a little group of other Tepig. It only takes a few moments and the look on the Tepig's face when they find its friends is rewarding enough. They leave them with smiles and a little wave on Illeana's end, the sound of excited squeals fading into the distance as they press on, hearts warm from the reunion.[break][break]

A flash of white captures her attention and she turns, eyes bewildered. What is that? A Pokemon?[break][break]

It's a Wooloo, pounds of fluffy white wool cushioning the little sheep as it barrels through the path. Isn't it moving a bit... fast? She only has a single minute of processing this before scrambling out of the way, nearly becoming a flattened pancake against the ground of the safari.[break][break]

"Be careful!" She scolds lightly, cheeks slightly flushed from hauling ass so quickly out of the way. Man, this day might be the most she's exercised in... well, ever. Her feet are already a little tired and she sighs, not bothering to waste any effort in stopping the Wooloo. The fast ball of floof continues on, ready to mow down another unsuspecting trainer. The woman, instead, moves to sit against a tree with a soft sight.[break][break]

Flammae approaches her curiously, crimson eyes peering at her. "My feet hurt," she complains with a light groan. "I'll be okay in a minute!"[break][break]

Sure enough, a few minutes pass and she's back to full stature, legs once again moving and carrying her deeper into the safari. "Some of these Pokemon really want to run us over, huh?" She muses with a laugh, glancing back toward the fading frame of the Wooloo before looking ahead. Her mind is already ready for the next encounter, shamelessly prepping for yet another close call.[break][break]

The rustle of leaves draws her attention away from the path, eyes drifting upward toward the trees.[break][break]

There, crawling through the branches, is a Treecko. It almost blends in with the lush greenery, a natural camouflage perhaps. Nevertheless, she stares, curiosity rising to her features. It's a curious little thing, snatching at leaves with little grabby hands. Part of her wonders what the gathering of leaves could be for. The other part wants to let it be, allowing it to continue in its endeavors.[break][break]

And so, that side wins out in the end, with the woman turning a blind eye to the half hidden Treecko. Better to let it be than startle it and risk injury from falling, right? She smiles and nods for Flammae to continue, the fire type taking the lead without hesitation. A glance is thrown over her shoulder as she follows, taking one last look at the Treecko before traveling further into the winding path of the safari.[break][break]
