the heat is insufferable. it makes it hard to breath. only your perspiration keeps you cool, trickles of warm salt water keeping you going. fernando licks it from the brow of his upper lip, annoyed by the weight of its stickiness. the hike through mount chimney is an arduous task but one that makes the body strong. the fiery path is the next level. those that can make it through the sweltering heat have the endurance to make it through hell.

fernando is no different. whatever lays in his path will fall before his hand. can the same be said for the straggler behind him. he doesn't know nor does he care. many people make the pilgrimage and many retire. fernando keeps his eyes ahead. that's the ambition of the strong. succeed against all odds.

fernando must become stronger. for the events that are to come, he can only throw himself to the throes of peril. he will make it and he he will be prepared.

she despises the heat. the waves of photons hitting her skin every damn time. perspiration from her pores as she found herself in the damn unknown of this very region. the click of her tongue, altair found herself in tangles with a man she barely even knows. who was he and what is his deal?

"mm, i know artemis, but we have no choice but to listen right?"

she had other motivations to be in this group, after a long and trivial mess of how she should go about her prime objective altair knew. she knew she had no choice. a choice shaking her to the core.

trekking for so long, she could only pipe up with a grin. "getting tired already? what are we even doing all the way over here?"

now that she had those few quiet moments to herself, she began to wonder the objective at this moment.

her chatter to her pokemon doesn't disturb him. he's used to distractions, obstacles that threaten to impede progress. he'll have none of it here, zoned in on the ascension. "no. i've done this before." mount silver. tohjo falls. every mountain to climb is a challenge conquered. this will be another notch on his belt.

"we climb because it is hard. to overcome what is difficult is to become better."

the heat aches but fernando does not stutter. not now, not ever. whether altair can keep up is left to her own willpower. this path is not suited for everyone.

Rarely was his work without an arduous environment, even rarer was his work with something this burdensome, however. Glad I'm not the only one up here this early!" he chuckled in the guise of another explorer of the mountain—his mind immediately noted the man as Fernando Silph... What was he doing here?

"good morning." fernando's greeting is lacking but understandable considering their environment. their appearances match, if only due to the extreme heat and moisture that permeates their dampness of their locks. what had happened to altair is left a mystery. whether she retired due to exhaustion or found the hike pointless, fernando didn't know. didn't care, either. his only concern was to continue, to charge into the very pits of hell, if only to add this to his list of achievements.

"saying goes that anyone who can make it through the path comes out stronger for it." he pauses. sure enough, opposition comes their way. a pair of pokemon stand before them, not necessarily together, but still in their direct path. battling out here will prove a different set of challenges. its a test of stamina and in that regard, fernando has no demur with cycling through pokemon to cheat the hold the heat has on them.

the blastoise that comes forth finds itself stammering in place when it materializes. the odd sense of heat grants the pokemon a great misgiving onto their situation and makes the blastoise flighty. the pair of shoulder cannons lock into position and dare the opponent to respond. without ferando's interference, which is non-existent, the blastoise waits until the pokemon hisses back before consciously arbitrating that the saladit means to be hostile. the solution? respond in kind. even blastoise's HYDRO PUMPS maintains the surrounding's temperature. luckily, that doesn't impedes its effectiveness
