When archen failed to bite through the shroomish it opts for Kirby's inhale technique. Since archen wasn't a video game character it worked very poorly for it. So bad in fact it began to choke on the shroomish.

The seed bombs explode down archen's gullet and manage to expel the choking hazard.

"Thanks for the help. Little guy was struggling." Archen stood gagging over the shroomish. "Dragon breath!" Between gags archen exhaled a dragon breath so pitiful it would put any dragon clan member to shame. It wasn't shameful for Lucas though, since they didn't allow him in.

Lucas chalked up Francie's lack of knowledge to being a brand new employee. He thought it likely that this was her first shift on board the boat.

When the Wailords began to sing Lucas' head pivoted in their direction near immediately. "Oh look at those. Now those are some beauts." Lucas brought his binoculars to his eyes when he saw a flash of pink. "You see that?" Lucas asked Francie. "Was that an Alomomola with them?" He named the only pink water-type he knew. "Looks a bit big though, right?"

"Turned on? Well yeah, of course it's turned on. How would I even that off in the first place?" Lucas began to think that he'd picked the wrong store to call. Their employees clearly didn't know how to diagnose his problem efficiently.

Lucas glanced at the clock on his wall. The stream was fast approaching. "Look," Lucas began to get frustrated with the employee. "My computer worked when I left for work this morning, and now it doesn't. Does that narrow things down?"

Thanks to the quick decisions of Lucas' alakazam who had a calm mind Lucas managed to avoid disturbing a wild onix nest. Taking it as a warning not to take that route he returned the way he came. Following the wall markers left by rangers Lucas began to leave the leave the cave completely. It was a sobering experience for the head scientist.

Lucas couldn't believe how minuscule the damage his archen inflicted was. The archen's seller promised Lucas that the attack was a fire move when he demonstrated it. After this battle was said and done Lucas was going to leave a devastating review on their yelp page.

"Is this one of those cross-up hitstun stall strategies kids are into these days?" Lucas asked as his archen opened its mouth wide to swallow the toxic. There was a reason why these pokemon had gone extinct.

"Crunch!" The archen rushed towards shroomish with its mouth agape

Lucas shook some mint tic tacs into his hand when met up with Bailey. He puts them in his mouth then holds the near-full container towards Bailey. "Mint?"

While Lucas tried to drown out the junkyard smell that perverted his mouth his pokemon got to work. Cacnea shot out pin missiles that puncture the side of the car and shatter glass. Lucas couldn't help but feel he chose his pokemon poorly.

"So Bailey, when'd you get that tattoo under your neck?" Lucas asked as he juggled the mints in his mouth.

When Bailey departed Lucas dropped the bucket. When it hit the ground it wobbled before tipping over. "Shit." Lucas rushed to return the spilled clamperls back into the bucket. He managed to return all but a quarter when Bailey returned with the bribes.

Lucas gingerly offered a block to each clamperl in exchange for their pearl. For the ones quick to snap at his fingers Lucas offered a generous two block bribery. With one frighteningly mean clamperl Lucas offered three blocks for the pearl and two blocks to release his trapped finger.

When Bailey called Piggie Smalls over Lucas held up a pearl for it to see. "Come on. Look, pearls!"

"Yeah but none of them have as much good a story behind them." Lucas was diappointed when Bailey said no but he didn't argue. He knew Bailey well enough to know it'd go no ware.

"I suppose I could keep some of the other pearls instead though. Or even send them out as Christmas gifts. Though I'd need to think of some puns that aren't rock related to go along with them if I do." Lucas made a mental note to put one of the pearls away for persephone amavi as he rambled on. He was sure she'd appreciate it more than the geode and card he gave her last Christmas.

When Lucas heard Bailey approaching he'd put the last clamperl in his bucket and drop his shovel. Between two spindly arms he carried his bucket towards her.

"So you," Lucas took a labored sigh as Bailey harassed the clamperls. "Know how to open these up? Just shock them?"

"Of course!" Lucas was offended that Priam had to ask. As long as he wasn't a league security guard he would be well compensated for his work.

When Priam striked Lucas wasn't expecting it. "Oh wait wait wait I didn't know we were starting," Lucas grabbed a piece of neatly folded paper from his pocket. His pokemon got ravaged as he read paper. The seeds that didn't end up in archen's mouth grew and spread thin root-like tendrils over its body.

A finger ran down the list of moves written on the paper as Lucas thought. "Dragon breath!" Despite the battle's rough start Lucas called out the command with confidence. Archen spewed a purple flame towards the shroomish.

When Bailey asked Lucas if he thought she was stupid he fought back a nod. He did think she was that stupid, with some things at least. But he didn't dare say it aloud.

"Well if the nurse says it's alright then I guess it's alright." Lucas said with a shrug as he walked towards a football sized depression in the sand. He pounds the sand next to it. A few seconds later water squirts out of a hole, a sure sign that a clamperl is beneath. Lucas plunges his shovel in deep.

"Well if whatever you're doing looks like it's working keep up at it." Lucas wiggled the shovel back and forth in the sand in an attempt to thrust the buried clamperl upwards. Failing to do so he begins shoveling away the sand. "Say, when Smalls picks a replacement pearl do you mind if I keep the old one? It may be broken, but it'd be a great conversation piece for my collection. I'll even polish up the replacement pearl for you if you let me."

Lucas was clad in the complimentary yellow rain jacket that was handed out at the beginning of the trip. Under his hood and around his neck hanged a pair of black binoculars. Shortly after the boat ride first began he'd been looking through them profusely. But when his arms grew tired without a single wailord to show for it he left them to hang for the rest of the tour.

"Excuse me," Lucas approached Francie, confident that she was one of the tour staff. Her face was familiar. He chalked it up to being one of the faces he'd seen listed under the "our team" section of the company website. "When're the wailords going to start appearing? Or do we have to heard further out still?"

Lucas gently placed the geode in the bag that hung from his shoulders. After making sure it's secure he went and picked up the ball containing probopass. He minimized it and stuck it away in his pocket.

With Kabutops and grapploct out as protection he began to delve deeper into the rusturf tunnels.
