Lucas wasn't sure if that was a threat from the teenager. If it was there was no sleep lost over it though. There were much bigger threats in his life than a half baked trainer. [break][break]

A group of falinks run in from the shadows towards Lycanroc. They pick up its limp body and carry it between themselves out of the cavern, miraculously dodging all the falling rubble. As fast as they had appeared they were gone again.

"How does being 'eccentric' mean I'm likely to call someone that?" He was clearly missing whatever Cadis thought the link between the two were. "Well isn't that presumptuous of you?" [break][break]

"Plus? Go on Cadis." Lucas wasn't letting the gym trainer off the hook just because a pokemon waddled across their path.

"Keep on going buddy, you got this." Lucas cheers the lycanroc on through the tiny speaker on its collar. It takes a hesitant step forward. "That's a good boy, go on Eros." Moving as fast as it could given the room affects it deeper into the ruins. Lucas watches the progress on a computer screen. There wasn't a shred of guilt in him as he coerced the pokemon towards its likely death. [break][break]

Sacrifices had to be made for the greater good.[break][break]

"Come on boy, you got this. Straight ahead buddy." He directs the lycanroc past the barriers that had impeded his progress in the cave. Rocks float around it as a vain form of protection[break][break]

"I'm no mind reader but wouldn't Tapu Fini avoid attacking when you're going in? I can't imagine it wanting to hurt you."[break][break]

Lucas pulls several pokeballs out of a bag and loads them into a narrow shaft within the submarine. They join the two pokeballs he'd readied at the pair's launch. At the press of a button he'd be able to eject the pokemon outside the submarine.[break][break]

"Well my pokeballs are loaded. Whenever you're ready Fernando."

"Yeah of course I like dogs! I remember asking my parents for a dog as a kid, and instead they got me a pet rock. I named it Rocky.
I use to take it for walks just like a dog. Eventually my parents got me a purrloin but that didn't last long."[break][break]

The bell rings for the next round of speed dating. A real shame, things just started getting interesting between the two. Who knew there'd be another rock enthusiast like himself in the League? Not Lucas, or Noelle Lane, and priam conrad for that matter. The two were very apprehensive of his rock and fossil collection. Clearly the two didn't have a taste for the finer things in life like kyle lopez and Lucas did.[break][break]

"Guess we gotta go. But if you ever want to talk rocks more with me here's my number."

Lucas could make out a glittering light between the swarming school of Luvdisc. "Barely. Do you think you can get the Luvdisc to move without riling them up too much?"[break][break]

The head scientist didn't dare nudge the submarine any closer to investigate. Lest the school turns on him and the councilman. "I can send some pokemon out if you think things will go south."

"We don't actually live together" Lucas corrects the elite four member. "And I wouldn't ever be her roommate." He lowers his voice. "I'd pity anyone that becomes her roommate. Have you seen the inside of her house? It's atrocious. I cleaned her kitchen before and honestly I think that was the first time it ever got cleaned since she bought the place."[break][break]

Lucas is caught off guard by Kyle's question. Red tinges his cheeks. "Oh uh sure. You like rocks?"

"Well no one really slandered you," Lucas says awkwardly.[break][break]

"I'm making a fair salary, but I think Bailey said she wasn't before. Anyway, I don't want her to pay the whole thing, or even half. Just a portion of it so you know, she doesn't come to expect me to pay her bills all the time. You see I'm not paying for just my exterminator fees," he places one hand on the table. "But the one for her house too right now." Another hand comes down on the table. An attempt to explain the concept to a very drunk elite four member. "You see where I'm coming from?"

"What? God no!" Lucas is appalled that Cadis would ever expect him to say that. "I was going to ask if you were really sure. Councilman is a lofty goal not many can achieve."[break][break]

When a lunatone strays across their path the scientist releases a golissopod. It bombards the lunatone with the fury of an erupting volcano. "One moment. Take care of it," he says before turning his attention back to Cadis. "Do you think I'm someone that relishes in belittling others? That just because of what, my education I'm better than those around me?" He interjects before the gym trainer's long winded plan. "Is that how little you think of me?"

"A coordinator? Did you ever win any competitions?" Lucas was oblivious to the fame Cadis had built up for himself. He wasn't one to follow the coordinator scene. [break][break]

Lucas didn't have the heart to tell Cadis the two positions were nothing alike. "Are you re-" he stops himself. "Good luck with that. Do you have a road map planned for how you're going to do that?"
