"fine! league can stay in this place instead," he tells elise as he starts to get off from the area.

paradox pokemon start to pour out of the mist without stopping, making it a difficult terrain to pass through even if they did manage to get control over it from the league.

"at least you get to see my cool pokemon," he brags. "feast your eyes before i leave, since they're top percentage!"

the braviary makes a sound before flying off away from danger, cutting off the trainer from further talking big about his own pokemon.

when they get back, he supposed he'd just have to tell the rest of rocket to find another route to use.

"is that what it's called?" he asks. "i didn't know."

for the longest time, he just thought it's a special hyper beam that the artificial shadow pokemon machine gave his pokemon. it didn't get any actually cool abilities, but it did get that one attack.

as roaring moons start to pour out of the mist to ruin the party, priam prepares to leave with one final note.

"and it's not a waste! that's what makes it not boring!"

priam takes off with his braviary, leaving the field. they can't have a proper fight with these paradox pokemon in the way.

"next time!" he shouts as he gets up in the air. "when there's no disturbance around!"

the braviary turns its wings forward and instead uses the move defensively, fending off the attack from the noivern.

just as priam and his pokemon were warming up, a cloud of mist rises up in the air. the pinkish hue can easily be recognized, given that the place they were fighting on was full of them.

"just my luck!" he complains out loud. "i was finally about to have a good time!"

he throws a sigilyph out, erecting a reflect to protect them against what would come. it proves itself useless when an iron jugulis comes out to blast them with a dragon pulse.

his sigilyph goes down quick, which priam recalls back to its ball.

"no!"

glory is nice after all.

an air slash angers the braviary, causing it to release its oblivion wing at the bird. in the midst of the chaos, the forretress explodes the moment that the appletun hits it.

"oh, shit."

the explosion has disturbed the ground, causing a leak from the terastral tunnels underneath to release interdream mist to the battlefield.

priam recalls his pokemon back to its ball as it gauges remiel's next move, casually letting a bead of sweat roll down his temple.

priam shoots the first move and charges straight at the other rider. his braviary charges with its wings broad and parallel against the winds, stiffening up with a coat of steel.

"steeeeeel... wing-uh!"

a collision in the air would result to something bad for both of them regardless of the result, but it wasn't like priam was thinking much about the consequences.

"of course!" priam doesn't know if he's right. "i'm the one and only! the man, the myth, the legend!"

the show of avatar power gets priam worried enough to get another pokemon out in the field. a forretress joins the fight.

his braviary brews up a hurricane as it gets pelted by the bubble beam by the other bird, all while his forretress sets up spikes on the field, which just gets sucked up by the tornado from the braviary's move.

"and i know you too!" he shouts back.

it was a given. there was a big bounty on his head from the rocket side of things, and even then, recent news about galar has brought up the previous galarian ambassador's name a few times too many.

"can't spell terrorist without torist!" he answers back in a childish spat.

he never attended school anyways, so some spelling of words that aren't commonly used in his line of work weren't going to be right every time.

"but good catch!" priam throws out his pokemon. "now we duel!"

a braviary appears on the field, the very same one marred by death incarnate itself. if the swanna is already marked for death, then it's only the pokemon's duty to get it done.

priam finds himself on the beach after separating from THEO BECKETT earlier. the underboss said something about needing to check on other parts of the island, and that priam himself is free to explore in the mean time.

it sucks though. without any direction, priam is lost on what to do more that earlier. there were no race obstacles to clear, or fights to be done.

he looks around for trouble instead. interdream mist was supposed to pop out from nowhere as long as they're in the island, but what he finds instead is another person of interest.

"hey!" priam shouts as he spots remiel's figure from the sea. "ya ain't supposed to be here!"

"ya!" he answers with a shout. "i need ya to vacate the place, please!"

the dragon-type that she was riding convinced priam that a noivern was such a cool pokemon that it can be argued that he needs one. he pushes the thought away when he realizes there are things to be done.

"rocket's takin' over this part of the island for a while. wanna skedaddle before that happens?"

it's a challenge, albeit a subtle one. priam postures for an aerial fight despite not being as properly geared as the other person.

the skies above the island were starting to get less crowded as things were slowing down. the conclusion is near, priam assumes, but it doesn't mean a last minute crunch wasn't in place.

at least he wouldn't be dealing with the obstacles in the race.

priam rides the winds with his braviary in a patrol for stragglers, whether they're on his side or not. there was an obvious choice that will be made depending on who he finds, though he convinces himself one possibility is better than the other.

near the peak of the mountaintops of the island, he spots a person. he's too far away to recognize the face at his angle, however. priam whistles to try and get her attention.

"hey!" he shouts to the void. "are you there?!"

katherine had been one of the people he grew up close with on her short stay on rocket, and the relationship continued even with her transition as an agent of the league. for priam, it was already a miracle that he can keep in contact with her despite the situation.

he didn't expect her to be gone in his life, however, but the trend in his life always follows him.

those that he care about will leave him eventually, and he'll just have to deal with it. that's the creed rocket ingrained in him, and even if it wasn't, he'd learn about it eventually and stand by it.

"i forgot to tell you about this!" priam pulls his sleeve and shows the legendary marks to the portal to the distortion world. "it would've been pretty cool, yeah? i wonder if we could've used it!"

she had a mission, and priam was in on it. the only difference now was that he was left alone.

"well, i'll leave you this." with a stick, he inscribes a message on the ground. "take care out there!"

once both of them are inside the tunnel, priam orders his pokemon to double up on the barriers. layer after layer, the sigyliph sets them up so that the iron valiant's attacks would find it difficult to cut through.

a sigh of relief echoes inside their gabite-made tunnel.

"whew! safe."

the gabite on the lead continues to dig, bringing them away from the route where the pressure plate was, and eventually brings them where the cold breeze of the sea lets them breathe.

"quick," he urges the underboss. "gabby's about to reach the other side!"

whether the other side led them to another room full of paradox pokemon, or if it's actually a safe place, priam didn't know. it does beat being trapped in a room with one of these monsters though.

priam takes out a pokeball and gets his trusty sigyliph out.

"reflect!"

the flying thing conjures a wall between them and the paradox pokemon, which should buy them enough time to get out of its territory, if the cave can be counted as one.
