"I-I'm fine," the stuttered reply is slightly breathless as she glances down towards her arm. It's only a small area from where the acidic poison hit, but the skin is slightly singed and flesh blistered. It might've been adrenaline from nearly being reduced to a fleshy puddle that prevents her from feeling the aching throb of pain. There's slight fear of infection, but any concern towards her injury is ignored in favor of their more pressing issue.

The garbodor angrily stomps about, acid spraying from the nozzle of one of its arms whilst its other swung wildly about like a massive bat.

"We can worry about it later," she shook her head, "I can still fight." It might've been guilt over her recklessness, but she was determined to help in bringing down their target. A steelix is released, the metal serpent striking the garbodor in a BIND. Its body curls around the living heap of trash, restraining its movements immensely.

"Adam, go for it!"

The pink-haired trainer's gaze grows curious as she watched his familiar interaction with the room. "I'll be fine." She quickly reassures him. Two pokemon that she's never seen emerge. The more dog-like of the two approached her, and there's a quick squeeze of her chest. The emotion that passes through her is swift.

This pokemon felt...familiar. But, she's positive she's never seen it before in her life. Time proves to be working against them though, as glass is shattered, the sharp shards only narrowly missing them both.

"Mr. Silph-?!" Her concerned shout is relieved with a sigh when she realizes he's fine as well. As much as she didn't want him, or anyone else, to get hurt, she'd rather not have league officials hunting her down for failing to protect him.

She doesn't hesitate in releasing her own pokemon. A dragonite and blastoise materialize, slightly cramped within the room, but attentive and ready. Squinting against the thick fog and staring through the broken glass, she huffed.

"I'm going out there." She was positive she'd be fine - maybe a few scraps and bruises, but it'd be fine. Especially with three strong pokemon on her back. But, really, the last thing they needed was for another hyper beam to go through the window now that the protective glass was gone.

"Stay in here, Mr. Silph." She pauses, adding with a little hidden grin, "watch my back, okay?"

FERNANDO SILPH

There's a small look of bewilderment on the woman's face at the idea of him of all people climbing mt. silver - let alone as a child. There's a clear look of awe within her green eyes, as her smile grows wider. "Amazing!"

"You shouldn't ever 'get used' to being cooped up in the office." Noelle's voice is almost scolding. Given that she was quite the busy body herself, she didn't enjoy being cooped up in stuffy rooms or places. Unless it was at home, on the couch, with a bunch of food and a movie on. Otherwise, being out and exploring or simply enjoying what nature had to offer was the one place she desired to be. "I'll stop by more often then. We can...take nature walks together, or something." Her offer was a bit awkward, but genuine. An extension of friendship otherwise.

Even if she was positive security would haul her away before she even made it to the silph's hallway, let alone his office.

It was only after a few minutes did Noelle realize that running ahead might not have been the best idea nor anywhere close to it. Once again, she couldn't tell where Adam was. The thick smoke had gotten heavier and far more potent. The STENTCH was unbearable as well, she quickly realized. Her head felt light and her breathing felt estranged.

In the distance, she heard a shout of caution - as soon, behind her, she heard a faint shuffling. "A...Adam?" She questioned cautiously. It was then that something in her mind screamed at her to move. Just as she did a quick jump backwards, a foul green liquid sprayed towards her; a poisonous spray. Acid, maybe?

A yelp erupted from her throat as the potent liquid missed its mark, but a few droplets met their purchase on her arm. It sizzled through clothing and even the skin on her arm a bit, the slight smell of burning flesh mixing with the nauseous smell of toxins. A shape appeared through the thick smoke, towering in demeanor as it grew closer and closer towards her. It was a garbodor, one that seemed to spew out poisonous smoke with each breath it took. It was massive, far larger than any she'd seen before.

And it seemed pretty upset.

"Adam!" Her smile is hidden by the mask, but it shows in her voice as the man 'reappears' again. She squinted, narrowly making out the sight of the canine-like pokemon. The pink-haired girl offered a nod. "I'll try!" That was essentially her way of saying she couldn't promise. But, a hand did reach out to hold onto the man's sleeve, clutching the cloth between her fingers.

"I wish I could let out my dragonite and have them sweep it away with hurricane." She let out an almost irritated sigh. However, they weren't part steel like Adam's Lucario - the last thing she wanted was for them to get sick with poison.

"That might work," Noelle mused aloud, "this way then!" As per usual, she didn't think things through. And so, completely forgetting about staying near him, she'd already began to jog off.

"It's so thick I can barely see through it," amazement trickled from Noelle's voice as she looked at the thick smog that had enveloped the usually clean air of Verdanturf town. It had caused most of the citizens who lived in this nearby area to evacuate, especially the elderly. They'd been tasked with getting rid of the cause of the poisonous air, but so far, their search hadn't bore any results.

Voice slightly muffled by the gas mask, a small grunt left her lips. "How're we supposed to find the culprits if I can't even see my own hand in front of my face?" Her question was directed towards her companion.

"Ah...Adam?" Had she walked off without him? Where'd he go?

Nestled underneath a blanket on the couch, Noelle idly stroked the back of her chewtle who rested on her lap with a noisy snore. The quiet of the day felt slightly unsettling, given everything that'd happened within these weeks to months. Settling back into the quiet that was life and trying to adjust back to it was more difficult than she'd anticipated. Especially when plenty of things plagued her mind.

To the...thing that inhabited her body to more personal affairs, she had more than enough to think about. The thought of consulting Lucas about it - or perhaps even Kyle popped into her mind once or twice. But, the pinkette was quick to wave it off. She'd be fine.

The sudden and harsh banging on the door made her visibly jump, accidently throwing her chewtle from off her lap. Was it a robber? More megalopolan invaders? No - what sort of thief or alien invader used the front door and knocked?

Soon enough though, an angered shout followed the frantic knocking, and the woman visibly recoiled. "Why is he here?" It wasn't...as though she wasn't happy to see Mateo. She was. She was glad that he was safe, alive. Glad that he, obviously, hadn't changed. But did she want to see him? That was different.

For a moment, she contemplated several things. She could just ignore him. But, she knew that he would actually break the door down before simply walking away. And she really didn't want to cause any trouble for Lucas. She could also call security, but that would only complicate things. 'Just talk to him,' her thoughts ushered, and she once again cringed at the sound of a fist pounding on the door.

"Ngh!" Her chewtle aggressively huffed, beginning to gnaw on the coffee table's leg. Believing that if she opened the door that the turtle might actually attack Mateo, she was quick to usher it off. "I'm sure anorith is lonely, why don't you go play with it?" With it gone, she sucked in a breath before approaching the door. A hand rested on the knob for several moments before she finally pulled it open.

"...Mateo." There was no smile when she greeted him. No enthusiastic happiness nor her overwhelming warmth she often possessed. Instead, the woman seemed tired, exasperated even. And she seemed to look everywhere else expect towards him, as though he simply weren't there. "Please stop before you break the door." There was a pause. "Why...are you here?"

For a moment, in Noelle's mind, silence had emerged among the chaos. Her heart painfully clenched as ice ruptured at her feet, the sensation of her body falling backwards was near paralyzing. Frenzied water splashed as it was punctured with the attacks from above, narrowly missing their purchase on her vulnerable form.

Salvation came in the form of a hand that latched onto her own, tugging her upwards. Her lips move to express thanks as she's pulled back onto the thickening ice bridge. However, there's a brief lapse in judgement that their assailant seemed to take advantage of. Whilst her blastoise focused on trying to thin their numbers and his glaceon their escape, an attack was pointed directly towards the two trainers. A pointed stinger unleashes what it's been charging; a hyper beam.

The light was nearly blinding as it rushed towards them both. One could consider it too late, when she caught sight of the massive beam mere feet away from consuming them. She moved closer to Kyle out of instinct, practically embracing him at this point in some pitiful attempt to protect him. 'God...please, no-' Regret and anger rise, as well as guilt of being unable to protect her friend.

However, there was that tightness of her chest once more. A stirring of something inside of her that made her body feel immensely hot, as though crawling in her own skin. It was...honestly, almost sort of painful. Or, perhaps just incredibly uncomfortable. Either way, from her very skin, a bright green energy pulsated outwards. Erupting from her body was a thin veil, a sort of green hexed protective barrier that encased her, and from their close proximity, Kyle as well.

The attack is defended against, and another well-placed ice beam from blastoise has their once-assailant plunging into the ocean beneath.

"Peach!" The cry that leaves Noelle's lips is filled with terror as she immediately lunged towards the downed pink pokemon in a rash decision. Her reckless decision is, thankfully, prevented from inflicting harm to herself as a wide guard from their newfound ally protects her. "But-" An anguished protest silences itself as noah faber 's falinks protect her fallen pokemon like tiny knights. Relief is what makes common sense return to the woman, who quickly returns the blissey. "Creighton, Noah - thank you," her tired response is grateful. 

One thing after the other began to take place. The sudden appearance of a massive aquatic pokemon to its destructive rampage; there's little time to respond. 'One...one last push,' the encouraging thought it what rouses the woman to action. A HYPER BEAM spits from gyarados' outstretched maw, followed by a summoned THUNDER from dragonite.

"Grr, imma....imma scawy dwagon!" The pinkette was escorted from out the bar, attempting to bite the kindly bouncer that led her out for the third time. "Noelle uses crunch!" There's a pause, followed by a hiccup, and then an eruption of laughter. Led by the hand, she's soon dumped off by Kyle and Adam after the woman pointed at them from afar with a loud 'whisper', "sshhh don't let them know I'm here!"

"I think this is yours." The disgruntled bouncer practically shoves the giggling woman at them.

She clings onto their arms, locking hands with them in a jolly manner before letting out another loud 'shh'. "D-don't tell Adam or Kyle where I am - I-I-I wanna ah...surprise them!" There was yet another pause. A squint of eyes. And then, a purse of lips in a loud, obnoxious 'oh'.

"Oh! Adam, Kyle! When'd you g-get here?" Once again, she erupts into a chorus of laughter. Red tints her face, as her blissful smile doesn't fade, "we ah...takin' this party elsewhere?"
