it was just as some grunts told the boss. kyle eventually left the scene, so it's true that he was just a simple cover. "don't be so modest, mr. lopez!" dawn chuckled, "i must say though, it must be tiring to have to be approached all that way." he understood that being in the spotlight could be tiresome, annoying even. "i apologize for the sudden bombardment, but to be in the presence of an elite four. have you been challenged yet by any potential candidates for the champion title?" he'd ask with a curious interest.

the target was found, albeit barely alive, but he was there. it seemed there was some sort of cave-in and he was trapped underneath. cadis would come to examine him, a starmie was called out to shed a bit of light. "his left side is crushed. there's a slim chance of saving him, but i don't think his road to recovery will be short." a cellular device would come to be pulled out, "i'll just have to call in some favors to come assist us." while he did that, he'd turn to isra, "you wouldn't happen to have taught your gardevoir 'heal pulse' would you? i need him to be kept alive until help arrives." turning to face the man, he'd add, "i just need you to heal him enough that he's able to talk. can i leave him here with you while i make the call?"

a soft chuckle escaped him toward her reply as he followed. "that is true, but sometimes clumsiness can be quite adorable. they say ignorance is bliss, and you seem like the strong-type to captivate the heart of foolish men." it was then she inquired as to what they possessed that cadis wanted so, "something that can only be retrieved by word of mouth. they were doing a big of digging for me, should we find them no longer able to speak then it'll all just have been a waste of time i suppose." and they were suppose to be a pro at their job, shame. "why can't things ever go easy for people like us," cadis hummingly sighed.

"a psychic-type," useful, this should be an easy finding for the pokemon. "lucky me to have ran into someone with a gardevoir," he said with gratitude. "if we're in search of the same person let us hope they're still alive. they've something very important that i need, it'd be a shame if we lost them." as they walked forward, he'd continue to speak, "though, if you don't mind me asking, to what is this person of yours to you? perhaps a secret lover." cadis teased the female. making idle conversation as they trudged through the darkness.

"someone here is lost," he replied. the gothic dressed male spoke. the person he was in search of was hidden somewhere inside the cave. "someone was...suppose to come and help me, but..." he'd look down briefly, then turned toward the female. "you'll have to do," he'd smile, "would you mind assisting me in finding this missing person?" afterwards, he'd ask, "what brings you out here exactly?"

"you just almost called me 'retarded' didn't you?" it was normal though. most scientists did tend to have an rudimentary way of speaking toward others. "i plan to go about just as councilwoman Olivia Abbiati did herself." it wasn't an unusual way, and many regions had different requirements. not everyone was the same. "many people who wish to run for council start off by building trust and and sufficient ties within the communities they live in." Olivia Abbiati had done just that. she came from a name, she earned the love of her people in slateport. "by becoming a gym trainer i chose to start at the very lowest because, so far, it's help me interact with many people of mauville. cait's taught me a lot and if i can become a gym leader someday, that will definitely boost my chances of gaining the support i'll need."

in the end all of this was just make believe. a cover story for his true motive as to why he became cait's 'gym trainer', "anyway, i hope you'll support me in the future!"

"no rush, we've plenty of pokemon to offer." that's right, he respected pokemon yet possessed eyes that simply saw their fates as a means to an end. this was all for the greater good of his plan--his end goal. "i've no sentimental attachment for death is just another, simple aspect of life. in the end the spirit lives on through others." death is just another stage of life everyone must travel on, humans and pokemon alike. "let me ask you one question, eva..." he'd look toward the blue sky, "do you hold sentimental value for the pokemon you wield?"

he crashed, cadis won. the race was done. with a victorious end he'd watch from the finish line as the drift king exited his vehicle and walked to where the victors stood. "looks like your days are numbered," cadis boasted with an impish grin. the man had nothing but defeat in his eyes, to lose his title and unable to ever regain it. this was his life, this was all he knew. "of course, if you lend your skills to me, you can keep your measly crown." as he was just about to leave, he'd add, "then again there's a bigger racetrack for you outside of this childish course. if you truly are the king..." he'd look to eva, "you'd submit yourself to the woman who truly won your crown. without her i couldn't have done it."

yes, this was cadis bestowing onto eva a new lackey. "you will not serve me, but her," he'd lean in to place an index finger underneath the man's chin, "after all, i simply wanted you not your crown. you have skills befitting of someone with purpose. a proper getaway driver, f you will. by submitting yourself to us i'm sure we can take you far and put you on the map..." in the underworld at least, "we can even make whatever dream you possess come true." and with that he'd turn his back on the man, "i leave him with you, eva."

"yes, yes! you must come with us next time, i'll have the chatot relay the message to our trainer!" she'd let out a hearty laughter, "it's been so easy communicating through that dumb bird since it has the ability to translate our words into human-speech, ohoho!" this scyther was a hoot. she was enjoying her time with the bug-type, "i hope we get to go on missions together, girl! heck, i hope we get to go to a spa together one day, i'm sure we can get one of those lackeys of theirs to groom us!"

"yes, two of them died actually. one is currently still undergoing the process." it'd been sometime since he visited the jynx and wondered how she was fairing. "the shadowfication is truly dangerous, but so far many have undergone succession. our grunts are quite happy with what they've obtained." though he did wish it could be a little more easir, but alas, "one cannot obtain without sacrifice. i do hope you'll discover a way for us to shadowfy our pokemon without loss. i'm counting on you, eva."
