iffy was the only word to explain his thought process at the moment.

iffy on if this was a good idea, iffy on if he should have said it in the first place, iffy on if this is morally the right thing to do, and iffy on whether it would work or not.

luckily persephone was quick to shoot down the idea, a wave of relief washing over him as she did.

“i don’t think i would have been able to go through with it either honestly… and as for the pancham thing… that would be kind of weird.”

do ages even matter with pokemon? because if so, then it would be like a grown man dating a baby. this teddiursa wasn’t as infantile as it’s appearance led it to look.

“i guess it would be kind of rude to bother them now anyways. they look so… peaceful. i guess we succeeded in some way, even if not the way we planned to.”

a few taps of his pokeballs returned the released pokemon to their capsules, all except the teddiursa that now clung to his back.

“lets call it here, i don’t want to be around when they come to their senses.”

with that he’d take his leave, waving back with one last word.

“if you need anything don’t be afraid to call me. maybe next time we can do something not related to pangoro fucking.”


shitty bear pun alternate route

this turn of events was impawausible to understand. their attempts at breeding yielding a grizzy outcome.

this did not diskoalafy the end result of their actions.

though it was by accident the koality of their work paid off in a honey sweeter than cubs.

the once restless pangowo’s were now sleeping peacefully, a beary good outcome if you asked kim.

though they were tasked with such a teddyious mission, one they did not exactly have the koalifications to handle, they did their beary best.

they didn’t turn tail and not hide or hair of them way missing, so kudos to them for bearing with it as long as they did.

grief began to fade slightly, alexanders words quelling a few drifting thoughts he had in an instant. while he was hesitant to admit it, he had a way with words. or maybe it was just the fact that he was the first to appeal to his untampered senses.

whatever it was, kim was relieved to have him around, if only for this moment.

“you have my support as your city’s leader and heir to you families business, alexander. i’d like to get to know you a little better, preferably at a time where we aren’t both under such pressures as we are.”

a hand rubbed his neck, soothing an ache as it set in.

“for now i think we should both get back to work.”

one last look around and he’d mutter to himself.

“we’ve sure as hell got our hands full.”

“same to you kay.”

he’d pick the teddiursa up, finishing his tea and setting the now empty cup onto its platter gently as he wandered out of the shop.

“try and keep a straight face until i leave next time.”

he’d whisper in passing, his smile knowing as he continued forward.

she should know just as well as him that any favor, especially one as big as this, would not go without a favor being given back. she was in his debt until he freed her of it.

though it’s a shame she couldn’t be trusted, it was cute the way she tried to deceive him.

was this pity? was he pitying him? oh god, he was. did kim cole really fall far enough for alexander stone to pity him?

gods was this embarrassing, his face almost flushing in embarrassment if not for sheer willpower forcing the embarrassment to disseminate.

“thank you for the kind words, alexander. i won’t be here for long, rustboro is one of the many irons i have on the fire, so i was just popping in the help where i can.”

one last berry was placed into the crate, the councilman sending the recruit on their way before looking at the sheltered, a pained expression once more taking hold on his face.

“i just… wanted to try and help a little more. i feel a bit guilty for not being able to prevent this from happening… it makes me a little depressed when i realize how affected everyone is by what happened.”

a soft smile would form on his face, chuckling following soon after, her words catching him off guard yet doing minor to perturb him.

“i don’t think stealing the spotlight from you would be too hard.”

he thought to himself, speaking aloud promptly after.

“what's wrong with wanting to see you again? you seem like a delightful person to be around.”

it was hard to pinpoint whether his words were backhanded or not, the cadence in his voice both patronizing yet genuine.

“and if i’m not enough of a referral for her to give me the same treatment as you, why don’t you help me out with that?”

it was far from his intent to make any new acquaintances today but with someone this- sharp tongued- before him, how could he resist.

her words of thanks were quickly pushed off, a waving hand dismissing any further praise of his actions.

“kay, this is my job, if you need anything for your city i’m more than happy to oblige; the only thing you need to do as thanks is take care of your people where i cannot. you’re in your position for a reason.”

a finger would trace the rim of his cup, head tilting idly as he pressed for further request.

“anything else you need? i’m sure to have a lot of backed up request on my plate after this and i want to take care of them before anything gets out of hand.”

she looks away, and he loses interest, her words heard but not thought upon for very long.

the first step taken when negotiating is eye contact, and if she couldn’t do something as simple as that then she was too weak for consideration.

“mauville has my support and as with any other city or settlement in this region, if funding is needed, i’ll do my best to pull some strings to make it so the people are safe, sound, and above all else, happy.”

his words sounded almost scripted, as if he had said them once before if not countless other times.

“if need be, i’ll supply you with my own funds as fernando has, and as long as you continue doing what is right for your city, and show that you are doing so without any underhanded objectives, i will continue to support you in your leadership.”

a few taps of the spoon onto the glass and he’d pull to mixture up to his lips, setting it down with a slight lick where the cup had made contact.

“i respect you for coming to me personally for these matters, and for that i promise i’ll get you the funds you need.”

he tilted his head, a slight sense of confusion forming on his face as she turned away.

while he would usually take this as an end to the conversation, her body language interested him.

it was something he couldn’t exactly pin down, even with as much practice in the field as he had gotten.

was it embarrassment? annoyance? anxiousness? whatever it was, he felt the need to push a little further, examining her body with a watchful eye. (:smirk:)

“what stylist? i’d love to give them a try. it's obvious they know what they’re doing with how alluring your hair is.”

a chuckle escaped, his features turning jovial as she tripped over her words.

“relax kay, i was only joking, no need to stress over something so trivial.”

of course, he did prefer kim over councilman, so the prodding in his part did its work for the better.

“i understand what you mean: times changing for the worse and people thinking murder as a problem solver, blah, blah, blah. but riddle me this. what would an alliance do exactly?”

he’d begin emptying sugar into his cup with one hand while the other sturred.

“i’ve seen what you’ve done with mauville, its defenses are astounding, the people seem happy, and you’ve proven yourself to be a good leader in their eyes, but how can i trust you to stick by my side?”

a rhythmic pattern formed as the grains dropped into the tea, the spoon stirring gently as it hit the sides of the cup. his eyes kept on hers, its contact uncut as he pushed further.

“by all means, i consider you a friend, kay, but that does not mean i trust you any further than i know you. so tell me, why should i consider you as anything more than a friend? why should i consider you a confidant?”

he would halt the sugar, setting it down into the platter as he continued stirring, he refused to look away from her for even a moment.
