after the ultra beast war, hoenn begins to heal. the megalopolan invasion may have failed; however, it is clear there is much more at stake. a prophecy revolving around a cyclical meteoroid, the appearance of necrozma and a dangerous and viral alien threaten the safety of the region once more.
with rocket's new boss, the resurgence and reappearance of the crime syndicate's presence is imminent. the league has done its best to repair its reputation, and with the victory of a war under their belt, perhaps it is enough. but the seeds of distrust have already been sown in the ravaged land of this region, causing many to wonder what will grow?
The sun shined overhead, even as thick, dark clouds rolled overhead. A summer storm, no doubt. Rains would pour down harshly, utterly soaking the land if only to pass after ten minutes. It was annoying, honestly. Casting a weary glance upwards to the teetering weather, Circe continued on her way through the winding path and to the town next over.
There was an almost silent flutter of wings as a venomoth neared by. Its pattern was erratic, almost distraught, especially as a rough wind passed by that promised of coming showers. Likely, the pokemon was trying to escape being utterly drenched and caught within the bad weather. Relating to the feeling, Circe merely watched it move and disappear into the thick overgrowth of lingering trees before she herself continued on.
The sound of thunder booming overhead grew louder as the thick, saturated clouds grew heavier and darker. A gulpin shuffled about nearby, its plump body desperately trying to seek out shelter. Circe herself had to hold back a grimace at the less than sightly pokemon as it left behind a trail of goo that dripped from its mouth.
In the distance, a faint and glowing light catches the head scientist's eyes. For a moment, she's fascinated by it, following the light until she comes across its source. A morelull rooted to a tree, likely anticipating the rain and eager to soak it up. She's always had a fondness for the mushroom pokemon - however, that fondness easily rots into distaste as she remembers her own once-morellul. The annoying, needy, touchy creature, her shiinotic.
"It used to be so cute too." The sight is full of regret as she glances down at the simple mushroom pokemon, whose dark, beady eyes stare up at her, likely unable to fathom what was going on within its simple mind. The desire to catch it and start anew was a thought that crossed her mind, but even the sheer possibility of ending up with a second shiinotic was enough to disgust her from wasting a pokeball on it. And so, Circe merely leaves it be.
