Having spotted the Archen engaging in combat from afar, a Ledian presents itself as the next challenger. Not one to back down from much, Scaramouche accepts and within moments the two leap into the air to spar, a flurry of claws and punches clashing. When the Archen is struck on its beak, however, it huffs and blows the ladybug away with its fiery DRAGON BREATH.[break][break]

Remiel watches as the bug crashes at his feet, then calmly pulls out an empty ball and captures it. He sighs. Not for the bug, but for the Archen, who doesn't seem to understand yet that the downfall of his species was likely due to their tenacity for combat.[break]

"...At my own pace." It honestly hardly crossed his mind anymore, though he'd have you believing it was his life's purpose the way he raved about wanting to become a champion as a kid. Reflecting on that made him feel exasperated, though he remained stoic as he spaced out.

When he came to, realizing Remiel was confronting yet another pokemon, he saw a Primeape escaping into the brush. He might've been able to capture it if he'd been paying attention... Ah well.

"And you? Are you taking the challenge?"

While Remiel's response was forthcoming, Adrian found himself distracted by the appearance of a Galarian Farfetch'd. It distinguished itself by carrying a larger leek than the Kanto variant, which served it well as a weapon. Throwing a pokeball without wearing it down first would get him struck out by a foul ball, he anticipated, so Adrian tossed out his Beheeyem to battle. "Use Psychic Terrain, and then Expanding Force..."

What he hadn't accounted for was the Farfetch'd being able to neutralize the terrain; no sooner had the ground been illuminated by Beheeyem's psychic prowess had the domain been quelled by Farfetch'd's defog. I still have type advantage.

Figuring the Farfetch'd a scrappy one, he took the opportunity to prepare a pokeball, hoping to make his move while it was reeling from the blow of Beheeyem's expanding force. And it'd seemingly worked...

Remiel nodded, watching as Adrian went off to deal with a Galarian Farfetch'd, then as his Archen courted the challenge of a Sawk that had been meditating under the Cycling Road's bridge nearby. "I'm about three badges in." The ambassador informs the lad. "Though I can only adhere to a casual pace compared to other challengers."[break][break]

The Sawk, in the meantime, is shocked to sudden find a prehistoric bird descending upon him with a frantic clawing (ACROBATICS). Though it bravely attempts to counter the slashing of its talons (REVERSAL), the act only serves to anger Scaramouche even further. Before long, the Sawk lies crumpled in a heap on the ground, and Remiel tosses an empty ball at it.[break][break]

As he bends down to pick up the ball, his phone rings. He pulls it out to regard a text, then quickly swaps out the ball in hand with another, summoning a Garchomp before long. "I'm afraid I must cut our meeting short, Adrian Malcolm. Urgent business at the embassy. Until next time." He waves, mounting the Garchomp then blasting away.[break][break]
