Razz seemed to have a pointed question about what became of him when he left the team. "I do what I left to do." He crossed his arms having nothing on his person to corroborate his story. "I cook."

Uncharacteristically, he turned his back to the pair of pokémon scampering past, opting not to move to capture either of the two. "I'm damned good at it too."

While razz listens to the other he watches as once more his ditto starts to morph as another pair of pokemon cross by, this time turning into a Cherrim. At first the ranger wasn't expecting it to do anything but the ditto turns to him seeming to be determined about something as it actually turned to battle with a few spins to copy the dance Prism uses PETAL DANCE at its opponent releasing pink petals to fly out at it's target. While not very effective against the other grass type it was caught off guard enough for Razz to throw a pokeball at the other Cherrim.[break][break]

"Nice work," he complimented with a smile which seemed to make the ditto happy. "So, if you left to cook then why not that as a job rather than this?"

"-because this keeps me informed and sharp; testing my skills in a different way than a kitchen can." it was true enough he did missed the days were he hung up his chef's coat and went home with little more responsibilities but he'd been a pokémon trainer long before he cooked his first meal.

Some callings were harder to ignore than others. "Plus, in this job I can still find time to cook on the side or on the road. The other way around as a Chef? I wouldn't have time to range the region or defend it from aliens."

With his two fire types alert they cornered a fleeing pokémon too small for Sénon to identify in the tall grass, "Repeat!" not wanting to lose it he let loose the fire/dragon move his pokémon were getting better at with each attempt.

Fennekin used HEAT WAVE!
Flint used DRAGON BREATH!

"I really like you two using that combination." He pondered the best way to train them to their two moves to make that specific combination on command. Giving the combo a new name would likely just confuse the younger Charmander.

Coming over to what he now saw was a Helioptile he noted it had been heat stroked into unconsciousness, making it helpless against a pokéball.

Not far from it a cactus-like pokémon he wasn't familiar with lay unconscious as well.

Turning his thoughts back to the HEAT WAVE AND DRAGON BREATH combination he concluded, sensibly, gestures might have to be the fix unless extensive training was done with the two of them constantly working together to remember the name of their combination attack.

The younger Ranger listens as he considers what he says. Guess there was free times at times within the rangers, not that Razz favored it as he always made sure to ask for new jobs. Though maybe he should try to start looking into a new hobby? Not that he really knew what kind of hobby he could even try. At the order for the other's pokemon Razz unconsciously stepped back wanting to be as far away from them as he possibly could be without seeming rude. He's been able to keep himself calm for now but it was eating at his nerves some. Taking out a pokeball he hands it to Salem to take a look at the damage right before the mention of aliens came up. [break][break]

"Oh? Where were you when the Aliens made their strike?" Razz ask curious to hear on what the others went through. He knew that most of the Rangers were either at Lillycove or Meteor Falls when they hit, and he's heard rumors. But Razz would definitely like to hear from someone actually there. [break][break]

As he ask his question Salem floats over to where the downed pokemon were. The psychic cat giving the two younger fire types a 'good job' as he uses the pokeball his trainer gave him to capture the catus looking pokemon as it was clear it would need medical attention.

After capturing the last batch of pokémon the redheaded ranger turned his attention back to Razz and his question that brought back waves of crashing memories. "The frontlines of Lilycove." Unlike his Rocket days when he was MiA or unreachable for most assignments he was front and center to defend Lilycove.

He did his share of killing and his share of watching others die.

He couldn't bring himself to feel bad about what transpired but some of the ripples of the battle still tasted sour. The Death of Alexander Stone being a particular bad apple, slowly spoiling even the tasty memories. "I wasn't sure what I expected being there, but what I got were images and moments I'll never be rid of."

The Fennekin and Charizard danced from the Meowstic praises they got, acknowledgement from other trained pokémon was a very new concept for them.

It was the scrapes with death that allowed him to pick up a crawling Toxel boy by its tail. Having recently two in two seperate trades after looking for one for so long he quickly learned how helpless they were in terms of their ability to learn dangerous moves.

They were completely helpless but there were a appropriate gap between rendering them battle-inert and harming them enough to make them fight back. If you could deal with the tingle from their slightly poisonous skin and/or chemically produced electricity.

Proving his point the Toxel began to cry as he held it upside down and suspended in the air, a pokéball giving it a safe place to rest until it time for training.

Crimsen attempted to capture Toxel!

As they continued their sweep of the area everything seemed to be fine. Razz decided to ignore the pokemon that were passing by as he listened to the other Ranger talk about where they had went. Not to surprised on the vague details there as he was sure talking about a fight of survival where death was most likely present. He had heard that is where Dev Corp's CEO had died as a notable one but outside that he didn't know much of what had happened there. [break][break]

"Well war isn't suppose to be easy right? Though if you participated in the war on Kanto I guess this wouldn't have been your first right?" the young man ask. Not knowing the other enough to know if he participated in that or not. Since he did Razz didn't feel like this war was too different in terms of the stress it caused. Though unlike Kanto he felt it was easier to demonize the enemy. Part of him worried if others would find it weird on how little of a problem he had in needing to fight or kill. "Would you mind me asking what happened there? I can see if I can try to describe what went down in Mauville in exchange if that helps," he offers since that's where he was at, the young man having been taught that if he could get information from the source he should.

Razz inquiring about the events of Lilycove but him at odds.

It wasn't so dramatic that he couldn't think about the events but whatever it was the other ranger wanted to know, he could have read it in the papers or the reports. "People fought, people died." It wasn't until he began to recount it that he realized just how much he didn't want to talk about it. Still, because it was little "Razz" asking, he offered up the major takeaways. "Leviathans rose from the sea, some fought for the Megalopolans, some didn't."

He sat down as he spoke, a Snowver walking pass him slowly.

He could still remember the look on DAPHNE STONE's face when they found Alexander on the shores. "Cait came home alive. That's all I needed to know about Mauville." He kept his answers short and didn't emote as if it bothered him but clearly even thinking about the Three-Day War took a lot of fight out of him.

The man could have just said no, honestly it probably would've been much more informative than the few words he did talk about it. Guess all he'll learn from it is just what was reported on, though he will always ponder about how encountering the Kyoger was like. Though he'll take the vagueness as a sign of the man found the event traumatizing. So he would leave that alone, even as the other didn't seem interested in what happened on his front either but he did tilt his head in some confusion, "Who is Cait?" [break][break]

Talking about it seemed to take a lot out of the other ranger as he decide to take a seat. Maybe they were taking a break out? He probably shouldn't question it and just followed suit as he sat down as well, as he sat Prism once again took shape of a pokemon near by. As he did he did bring out a couple of pokeBlock treats from his bag for each of his pokemon, "Sorry if asking made you uncomfortable," he does add in the end, honestly he'd always figured any Rocket has seen enough shit that even things like this wouldn't be as much of a bother, but clearly he was wrong. Or he was just emotionally stunted from his upbringing, that was always an option.

He exhaled deep enough that his shoulders slumped and then perked up again afterwards, as if he'd shed some weight from his very soul. "It's not the asking that uncomforts me." He let his face rest in his hands for moment eclipsing his eyes for a time before he stood again letting the day light back in. "It's the remembering."

He looked over to Razz and remembered just who he was talking to, how much the kid had suffered and lost just to become his own man.

It put things back in perspective and allowed Sénon the focus to answer the questions in a way that gave the other former Rocket some indulgence. With hand gestures he sent Fennekin after the Tsareena he saw kicking down the tall grass as she went by.

Fennekin used FLAME CHARGE; its super effective!

"It's true what the reports wrote about Kyogre." Pitching a pokéball at the fallen grass-type he remembered how his focus on the task at hand and not freaking out was pure insanity consider the scale Kyogre had grown to after the Megaloploans influence. Crimsen attempted to capture Tsareena!
