He'd just come through Rustboro and was heading back to the pier south along Route 104 to venture back to Slateport rather than fly, when he decided to take another small break to capture some pokemon. Anything to stave off recurring boredom.

Standing at the water's edge Adrian pondered over the state of Thomas Benoit. If anyone understood his thoughts, perhaps it was him, but Adrian hardly even knew the man beyond his name. And yet...

Adrian was rattled out of his internal monologue when a stranger's footsteps began to pad against the earth nearby, and the sloshing of the pond's still surface clued him into sudden activity...

Adrian didn't much appreciate the snooping on his turf, especially if they were trying to ogle at what he was after. Luckily a Skrelp showed itself rather quickly, before the stranger could prepare a pokeball of their own, and he was able to lug it at the poor whelpling before it could flounder away from the shallows. "Haven't seen this one yet."

Somewhere overhead the flapping of wings can be overheard, although Adrian can't hear it for the splashing of his pokeball against the water.

"...Who're you, by the way?" He asked through a squint, nursing a healthy skepticism for strangers randomly striking up conversation without introductions. Felt awful strange if not rude...
