Gavin is uneasy this far beneath the ocean, even with his Arctovish looming nearby for protection. It's a relief, then, when he finally spots the entrance to the Seafloor Cavern and emerges onto not-quite-dry land. The vacant eyes of his Arctovish watch on as he orients himself, taking pause to let his racing heart still.

Were it not for the potential of certain Pokemon appearing more reliably at these depths, he'd never have set foot here.

Gavin's voice echoes in the quiet, his gaze trained on a Bonsly pottering about. It seems disinterested in engaging with him, turning at the sound of his voice only to wander away. He huffs a tired laugh and stretches out his tired limbs.

Time to head deeper into the cave.

Gavin opts to leave his Arctovish by the entrance; it enjoys being at these depths, and so rarely does Gavin brave the ocean waters. His Rotom is soon his only company in the cavern, the beam of his phone's flashlight dancing along damp rock walls. A flash of white appears in its path and Gavin stiffens, expecting a threat. It turns out to be a Seel.

They're not found in Galar, and he's rarely in areas of Hoenn cold enough for them.

"Rotom, Pokedex."

After it reads out the relevant entries and assures Gavin that it's not about to steal his soul, or drown him, or something else equally alarming, they pass by it in the tunnel and move on.

He finds nothing of interest.

As if to add insult to injury, a wild Seaking accosts him at the entrance as he waits for his Arctovish to return. Thankfully, the abomination had not been far; the offending fish is freeze-dried in a chunk of ice that floats up toward the surface. Gavin can hardly wait to follow it.

Donning his breathing apparatus once more, he climbs aboard his Arctovish and leaves the Seafloor Cavern behind.
