the rocket hisses over his microphone as he scours through the tainted underwaters of the deep sea. poisoned waters has been blanketing the submarine for quite some time now in which members speculate something clinging into the vehicle's gears, soiling the seawater the submarine goes to. fortunately, the job needs a pair to work to eradicate the source of toxic. unfortunately, one has to be out into the waters while the other has to oversee the percentage of area covered from the inside.[break][break]

and it's as if his togepi is playing luck with him, valerio is the one that loses the bet of cleaning outside.[break][break]

“tell me we've covered enough space,” valerio can barely see the other from the blackened windows of the courtyard. he is complaining in his most child-like voice. “i've been inside this suit and this water reeks of poison!”[break][break]

he wonders if the rocket is so shorthanded for a job this strenuous. how many have died in the war in the first place?[break][break]

Valerio disappears from view once more, and Gavin's left to watch the colorful Grimer move across the glass like an oversized slug.[break][break]

"Hell if I know." It's not a helpful response, and he knows it. The veteran won't be able to see the shrug of his shoulders. "This isn't exactly our usual division."[break][break]

It was grunt work, but the grunts were all tied up in other things. The work was piling up and unlike run-of-the-mill missions that could be set aside for simpler times, submarine maintenance was crucial.[break][break]

there is a lot of hint of sarcasm in his tone as valerio stops momentarily to glare at gavin, realizing that the other cannot just see him roll his eyes.[break][break]

Unaffected by the sarcastic bite in Valerio Dachev's tone, Gavin continues to monitor the device in his hand as the executive swims around outside.

"Meter's going nuts, so you're definitely doing something right." Was it supposed to be this red? Good lord, they really needed to hire more grunts for this shit. He sighs. "Try clearing some of the gunk out of that area, I'll let you know if anything changes on this thing."

Gavin doesn't even have any Pokemon capable of assisting in the clean-up.

With his underboss's signal, Valerio begins ordering around his pokemons. They will not probably hear him from his underwater suit so he makes sure to train them doing basic moves with just the signal from his fingers.

He looks at the colorful grimer and makes his left hand chomp, signalling for it to eat. The other one, he looks at his inkay and raises two fingers, saying it should use it psychic to lift up the poison for its companion to consume.

“Any updates?” Valerio wants to confirm because he thinks he is seeing something inside the propeller. It seems the creature can't escape because it will be dead if it passes through the rapidly spinning wheels.

AN UNKNOWN CREATURE scuttles through the submarine too fast for anyone to catch sight of it. Only the constant echo of vibrating pipes leave any clue that it even existed in the first place. [break][break]

From outside, Valerio Dachev is barely able to acknowledge that the purple haze passed by one of the clouded windows. When he blinks, doubt begins to settle in. The murky waters serve as a succinct deterrent into reading too deeply into what he 'thinks' he saw. [break][break]

Any pretense of cleaning the submarine is quickly abandoned in favour of a tension that ripples through the space. The rattling pipes echo in the breadth of silence that follows, Gavin spinning around on the spot and looking for something that is no longer there.

"I just heard something in the sub... finish up quick and get inside, just in case..."

He strides over to the airlock and prepares to operate it so that Valerio Dachev can get back inside.

The creature fall back deep into the pipes, plunging into the deep unknown as the water around the area starts to clear some more. Perhaps it is something that he's not used to seeing; but he remembers the shape of the creature that rests in the Rocket Submarine. Anyhow, he realizes it will be impossible to escape, knowing that the beast is only a relic of some kind of technology that he is yet to see operating.

Gavin meets Valerio on the other side of the airlock, his previously bored expression replaced something intense, focused.

"I didn't see anything," he confesses, "but I think it might've been coming from the vents."

Suspecting it might be an infestation of some kind of rodent, Gavin is concerned less with the Pokémon and more with potential damages to the submarine. The water vessel made him anxious enough when it was in perfect working order, and this was the second problem they were having in the span of a day. His jaw clenches, frustration evident.

"I'll get one of the grunts to check it out." Another glance at the meter does, at least, provide some good news. "Looks like the water levels outside the sub are improving."
