"We're lost," Skyler somberly declared as she looked about her, trying to find any sort of familiarity in the jagged cut of the closest stalagmites - for the umpteenth time. Unfortunately, she really couldn't tell one rock from another no matter how much she tried.

It had started to go downhill once they'd come upon their second crossroads. And then their third, and their fourth, and before Skyler knew it, they'd gotten turned around. She was pretty sure they'd been in this place before, but - truth be told - Skyler was hopeless at orienting herself. Except when she was out at sea, of course.

Might as well keep going forward and not worry too much.

"We'll find the exit eventually, right?"

The Kabutops didn't dignify that statement with any kind of response.

Was it her, or were they actually walking in circles? Skyler was pretty sure she'd seen that particular Delibird-shaped rock for the 5th time now. And she was pretty bad at recognizing rocks, but - for the 5th time? She might start to see some patterns.

Which was pretty weird, given that there was no other exit, except for the original tunnel they'd gotten out of. "Libra," she declares, shaking her head. "We might have been deceived by the layout of the place. I think we have to go back to where we started."

If the Kabutops could, she would've been sporting a 'no shit' expression.

They managed to find their way back to the chamber with the waterfall and the lake, Skyler choosing to climb down to the other side of the lake, where she originally had planned on going. Her pants were still miserably wet, but she was getting used to it. Or, most likely, she simply has lost all feeling in both appendages.

Turned out there was a tunnel here too, and Skyler sent Libra ahead to scout while she followed behind, catching from the corners of her eyes several shapes in the dark. Most likely wild pokémon too shy to approach.

"Are you okay, Libra?" It was strange that the Kabutops hadn't made her way over to Skyler by now. Maybe she'd found something? "Libra?"

The sailor almost face-palmed when she nearly stumbled upon Libra doting on another one of those creatures, like the one she'd capture. A Snom, if she remembered correctly. "Libra, what are you doing?"

The look sent her way was almost innocent-looking; Skyler didn't trust it at all. "Libra, we are not taking another one of those with us." Her voice was steely, commanding, the same one she used when she was back in her ship and meant business.

There was a small hint of hesitation before the Kabutops gently placed the Snom back on top of an icy rock under the sharp supervision of her trainer. The little guy seemed to wave its weird mouth appendages at them as they left. Huh. Cute.

The next chamber they found themselves in actually stopped Skyler on her tracks, silver eyes widening at the glittering ice covering every surface of the room, stalagmites rising up like icy spears, some of them forming massive columns that dwarfed both the human and the Kabutops.

The haunting beauty was somewhat marred when Skyler found out exactly how slippery ice could be. She slipped when she attempted to take a step into the room, flailing her arms in search of some erstwhile balance. She managed to find a nearby stalagmite at the last second, holding onto it for dear life.

"Help?" Libra just stared at her. "Please?"

Skyler huffed in frustration as her bottom skid over the ice, the blonde using a small piece of rock as a makeshift oar of sorts as she pushed herself from one side of the chamber to the other, sliding over icy ground.

Next to the exit, Libra was doing a strange wheezing sound that sounded suspiciously close to a laughter.

Silver eyes narrowed at the Kabutops, even as the human lost control of her motion and nearly slammed against a stalagmite, swerving wildly at the last second and sliding all the way back to the entrance.

"I hate this." Her bottom was frozen numb.

When she finally got to the other side of the icy death trap, Skyler was panting with effort and her backside had long grown numb from sliding across the frozen surface. "Remind me to never go to Snowpoint," she spoke drily, quickly breathing warm puffs of air over her frozen fingers. "Ice is just frozen water. I like water. This, though..." She sent a glare at the icy chamber behind her as if it had offended her.

She knew she would have to come back this way and the thought almost made her want to go all the way back to the entrance.
