The move had just finished. Billi’s belongings were still being shipped to Petalburg, but the gym had met his standards, and the league wasn’t playing. The gym spanned nearly maybe…..the size of a football field, or train station. Nature wove around pieces of metal while maintaining a human feature inside of it all as life flourished. Each of the pokemon he owned, enjoyed the open air keeping everything calm and natural.[break][break]



It didn’t take long for the word to reach the public that Petalburg’s new gym leader was opening shop for the day. Heck the line was...surprisingly long. And he got to meet so many people who thought a simple battle would award them a badge, but it didn’t. The FUN was missing in their battles. Even worse Billi felt the sting of their rejection when he turned them out to their shock. After all rumours were rumours. Billi didn’t like battling and yet everyone came for a battle, that a simple mega evolution solved.[break][break]



A gentle breath excited his mouth as he returned from his break, the bells tied to his wrist. “Oh! Hello!” the blonde chirped up as someone walked up to his gym, finding him. “Did you come for a visit or a challenge?” he asked in his little…..scout uniform….which was just the choice for today. It was made from his leavanny stitching and sewing their firm nurturing leaves into strong fibres.

The ambassador had heard tell of the grand opening of a new gym in Petalburg, just south of his home in Rustboro past the Petalburg Woods. Finding time to spare these days was a difficult matter, but he put his mind to it particularly well when something caught his interest enough. The gym leader in question was somebody he had never met, though he had heard (or rather, read) his name before: it traced back to House O’Dyna.[break][break]

And this caught Remiel's interest plenty.

The seaside drive from Rustboro to Petalburg had been pleasant and scenic. The day was mild and fair when his luxury black car pulled up to the gym's entrance, and the prince stepped out wearing a finely woven black cardigan and beige khaki pants. Tagging along with him, just above his shoulder, was a pink Sinistea that acted as his personal attendant. It opened the doors to the gym with its ghostly telekinesis, allowing the dark-haired young man to enter seamlessly and without pause.[break][break]

His apathetic, cobalt-colored eyes scanned the interior of the building as he advanced. It was clear that the gym had only just finished its primary construction efforts. Surely, in a month or two, it would look far more polished than it did now.[break][break]

Turning his attention to the man that soon stood before him, Remiel placed a hand to his chest and slightly bowed. "Good day. My name is Remiel Calcifet." He spoke, rising from his bow shortly thereafter and hooking his hand against his pocket. "I suppose I've come for both," The Galarian then answered, briefly acknowledging the man's... uniform. Then the bells tied to his wrist. His eyes flick back upwards to look at Billi before he continues. "If you can spare the time, of course. I apologize for coming unannounced."[break]

“oh?” Billi turned his head to the side as blue eyes stared down the floating teacup! It was so cute and funny looking that it made Billi smirked. “oh that's no problem! Ramiel!” Billi nodded, not really thinking too much on the topic of arriving unannounced. Not like he wasn’t modernizing things. He had an app telling when he was at the gym, his days off or a way to register for a set time for your challenge. Lately he has been doing challenges capable of giving the common person a chance at a badge, making even the most sad stay at home parent could feel good about winning a gym challenge.[break][break]

“Well how about you take these bells from me, and then we can talk! It’ll be fun, you get to challenge the gym, and get a one on one talk with me! Double WHAMMY” he gave a thumbs up

The man's exuberance was almost unendurable. Like sunlight that burned just a little too hot, Remiel almost cared to take a step back from it. But instead he remained, his eyes fixed on the bells Billi held up. It all seemed like a rather childish exercise, in all honesty. But if this was what the gym leader entailed...[break][break]

"Very well," The young royal answered, shooing his pink Sinistea off to the sidelines as he reached for a luxury ball clipped to his belt. "Are there any rules for this challenge that I should be aware of? My team and I will not hold back." Bells jingled at Billi’s waist signifying the game was about to begin as he slowly walked away. The broad back facing the man as the pokemon was freed from its confines. Truly...he didn’t think this man thought it was that easy to take the bells from the bug master. Blue eyes glanced back, “Not really many besides that you have to get the bells by sundown,” he grinned as he walked into a small train, “Oh…..any there’s no limits to pokemon you can use...just be aware the same applies to me,.” he paused peeking his head out of the window.[break][break]

“ALMOST forgot!” his voice quickly echoed as his face disappeared into the foliage. “You have to grab the bells with your own hand. All your pokemon can do is help you achieve your goal,” he waved from the other side of the tracks, which seemed to be a rather quick move.[break][break]

What route do you take? Just remember there are insects in unlikely places. Above glistens leaves webs stuck within the missing roofing. “Let the game BEGIN!” Billi’s Rotom Buzzed at the speakers with the loud horn echoing that the challenge has begun.

So there were, indeed, rules to this challenge.[break][break]

Remiel doubted they would reach sundown before either of them succumbed to exhaustion, but he supposed the man's unusual gym was full of tricks and secrets he would use at his disposal. So that meant sooner they went into the offensive, the better. Still... the fact that Remy had to grab the bells by his own hand certainly complicated things. They would have to get up close and personal.[break][break]

"Very well," The ambassador responded as he calmly rolled up his sleeves. "Good luck to you, Mr. Marsh."[break][break]

The first thing on his agenda was to somehow impede or incapacitate the train the man rode through his gym like a mall attraction. But, for now, he sent his Noibat forward with a sharp gesture. "Supersonic." He ordered, hoping to daze and confuse the gym leader after the bat flew forward with its echoing cry. It would chase and keep up with the train as Remiel slowly caught up from behind.[break][break]

The clearest route here were the train tracks, after all.[break][break]

Supersonic spun the noises around Billi’s head. Direct became subjective as each began to spin and twist, contort and move. Though…. He could notice the sounds of the tracks moving, it meant he was close enough to a spot where he would receive the assistance of his pokemon. “You’re gonna have to try more than that!” he yelled out, closing his eyes so he could guide himself with his hands.[break][break]

Finally he heard it, the familiar CLANK of his Durants routine, making it’s way to move pieces of metal, and other things that didn’t belong in her work path, as she kept all insects working hard for the colony. “Come, here,” he mentioned to the insect who moved to stare up at him, “lemme me just crawl on top of you,” he climbed on top of the durant, “get going, northern crates,” he ordered the pokemon as she began to run with him on her back, luckily she was made of steel.[break][break]

The northern edge lined with abandoned warehouse crates and train-cars, each housing pokemon from the sunlight! Perhaps you should cut off his escape? Or let him go to his dead end, and deal with what happens?

Whether or not Guavafang's SUPERSONIC had been the reason for Billi's disembarking of the train, it was clear a new obstacle had presented itself in the form of the colony of Durant and their kingdom of warehouse crates and train cars. Remiel bid Noibat to return to him with a short whistle, prompting the bat to perch itself upon his shoulder as they cautiously advanced. Before long, however, the black-haired royal reached towards his belt for the second luxury ball in his arsenal. With a toss and a golden flash, a Centiskorch was summoned.[break][break]

Had he come prepared, with knowledge of the Durant that lived within this large gym, Remiel would have brought one of their natural predators: Heatmor. As things were, he'd been training Chantico the Centiskorch to fight with the same intensity and fervor as his dragons. And, quite frankly, it was the next best thing after the Heatmor he'd left in his draciary back home. After all, it, too, was a bug. And to understand one's opponent helped greatly in defeating them. Rather than preemptively jump ahead without thought, however, Remiel would allow the gym leader to lead them towards the dead end.[break][break]

Chantico scouted ahead, its body coiling (COIL) when it reached what appeared to be the end of this maze-like territory. Guavafang, in the meantime, kept her large ears open for any sign of an impending ambush or trap. Of which Remiel was sure to expect. "Tell me... why Bug-type pokémon?" The prince asks, no sign of superiority or disdain in his voice. He's generally interested. Though that doesn't mean he's distracted off the task at hand, either.[break][break]

The moment the man's Durant stopped to turn around, Chantico LUNGED at the pair! But the gesture did little more than frighten the Durant into submission, it seemed. The man himself had been dragged upwards by a Crobat and tossed into a spider's web. All of Remiel's pokemon, including Remiel himself, tilted their head confusedly at the man.[break][break]

Why would he cast himself into a spider's web so freely? Surely, the ambassador thought, there was an Ariados or Galvantula waiting in the dark somewhere. Perhaps they thought they could somehow trap him within it as well, before the gym leader himself was freed from it.[break][break]

Regardless of the motive, Chantico did not fear the web. The flaming centipede crawled up the adjacent tree towards it quickly, his predatory instincts enhanced by his previous COIL, as he moved to wrap up the man that evaded his master.[break][break]

Guavafang, in the meantime, attempts to cut the web down from both sides with an AIR SLASH after Remiel gestures for it to do so. "On the contrary," Remiel responds. Durant was taken off guard, and to be honest being slapped by a lunge made her over this, so she skittered into her den to lick her wounds angierly. “Wellll!” Billi said as he laid in the webs. Which were sticky, but it was nothing new for him. Heck the clothes he wore were made from spider silk, and that was made from spider threads. “Well….” he paused as he felt the air slash cut the webs, “Ohhhhhh I wasn’t expecting that,” he grinned.[break][break]

Just like Ramiel assumed, a spider came to Billi’s rescue. The Araquanid showed up, slapping away the centiskorch with a quick guard. Billi had landed with a thud, and rubbed the back of his head, “Ouch…” as the man would step forward to take the bells, leaves swarmed around Billi and his leavany appeared, creating the distraction for him to run, towards the largest tree.[break][break]

“They are….it’s like a community! Everyone can learn something from bugs! Like working together!”

They seemed to have caught the young man off guard, so it appeared their endeavors were actually paying off. Though he hadn't specifically guessed an Araquanid would come to the lad's rescue, the ambassador wasn't surprised either.[break][break]

Chantico was slapped away from his attempt to seize Billi and, preoccupied with the water bug, was unable to assist its master in seizing the bells. Instead, it focused on leaping past the Araquanid in the flurry of a FLAME WHEEL and continuing to chase Billi down. If it had to push its way past the spider and burn the surrounding web, it would do exactly that![break][break]

Remiel, in the meantime, stepped forward to end their little game. Though swift and decisive, however, a Leavanny swooped in to sweep the man away in a flurry of leaves just before the Galarian could snatch away his prize. "Follow him," He immediately ordered his petite bat afterwards, who flapped its wings overhead and had a clear line of sight towards the gym leader. "Slow him down with a Tailwind!"[break][break]

With little more than an affirmative chirp, the bat swiftly flew off to do just that, placing itself in Billi's path before unleashing a TAILWIND in his direction, effectively slowing him down and bolstering the Noibat's own agility.[break][break]

Should everything go according to plan, Remiel would run past the leaves after his Centiskorch came down to burn them all way, hoping that would be enough to fend off the Leavanny, too, if it tried anything else.[break][break]

"You've proven that well so far, Mr. Marsh. But you're not the only one here who has discovered the importance of teamwork." He replies, wondering what other tricks the man had up his sleeve... and hoping his own would prove victorious.[break]

Well it was fun fighting a tailwind, and he honestly couldn’t truely fight such a strong wind. “Welp!” Billi looked around and then turned to face Oslo, smirking and ran DIRECTLY at the human, jumping towards him, almost if he wanted to land on the man. “get ready to catch me buddy!” if he wanted to catch Billi that bad it’d be fun to see how he lifts the yellow hulk.

In all honesty, Remiel froze.[break][break]

Seeing a man that was twice his size leap straight at him with such fervor was rather... shocking. And, while his mind begged him to turn around and use the blowing TAILWIND to swiftly back away, his body instead braced itself. His extensive training in martial arts was to thank for raising his arms defensively and digging the soles of his feet onto the ground as he settled into a sturdy posture.[break][break]

As things turned out, however, he wouldn't have to endure being jumped on. Instead, Chantico the Centiskorch tore his way against the blowing wind with his FLAME WHEEL, having blazed past the other pokémon, and seamlessly transitioned into a leap towards . Its tail would shove Remiel out of the way prior to it leaping off the ground and, in its attempt, it would try to capture the gym leader in a tight WRAP.[break][break]

Snapped out of his stupor by the shove, the ambassador quickly scrambled onto both feet and turned towards his Noibat flying overhead. "Guavafang! Cover our flanks with Air Slash!" He ordered, quickly rushing over to try and snatch Billi's bells from his wrist if he'd been captured in Chantico's bind.[break][break]

The Noibat, in the meantime, would do as it was told. The tunnel of wind that encompassed them all soon howled with a ripping wind at its outer layers. This meant the three of them (Billi, Centiskorch, and Remiel) would remain unharmed. But any pokémon that tried to enter the tunnel of wind they found themselves in would likely be blown back or damaged by the AIR SLASHING that protected it![break][break]

Wide eyes meant this was a good move, to take someone off guard with, but sadly it didn’t mean much if you were trapped like a fox against bloodhounds. Even worse, Billi found himself constricted by the fire bug, and smiled. “Ohhh shoot… my idea didn’t work,” he mused as the bells jingled against his compressed body. Granted his pokemon really didn’t try to interfere at this point.
