Rowan's family was slightly different, he was adopted by two men. Though Rowan didn't really think much about it, he greatly appreciated the two loving fathers. His life was simple, easy. They were a financially stable and loving home, and Rowan overall was a very happy go getter child. As a student Rowan would excel in his studies, and his fathers were very proud of him. They wanted Rowan to achieve great things but they were always careful in not pushing him to hard. His classmates did not bully Rowan for having two fathers, instead everyone in his class got along great with them since Rowans fathers were heavily involved with the school. Life was sweet, he enjoyed it, he loved everyone in his life.

However things would gradually change as Rowan began to develop health issues. The first one to come were some small heart complications, but Rowan really didn't see any problem being worried. He lived out his life normally but displayed caution to not worry his fathers. Over the years things were relatively peaceful, sure he'd get sicker then most kids his age but he didn't think much of it - neither did his fathers. Since getting the flu was a common occurrence, they rode it off without ever really looking into it.

Entering his final years of high school, Rowan's health began to deteriorate. Diagnosed with an auto immune disease called Crohn's. Rowan underestimated it, thinking it wasn't a big deal. For the most part he would feel very normal, but that was thanks to the drugs that the doctors would prescribe him. The disease turned Rowan's life upside down - the once happy family was a mere fragment of what it once was. His fathers pretended things were okay and that was only for Rowan's sake, but they struggled. Rowans medicine was costly, but without it Rowan suffered heavily from the disease. They formed a plan, Rowan was to leave Unova - the prices of medicine were higher then most. He left with one of his fathers to Hoenn since they had cheaper medicine and better technology.

Once in Hoenn, things did get better for Rowan. A doctor prescribed him a new medicine, that wasn't so extreme and a lot more affordable then his previous prescription. His life was starting to become stable, but it could never go back to what he once had. Rowan had a lot of time stolen from him because of the disease, as well as opportunities. Thanks to him not suffering so heavily from side effects Rowan has once again decided to chase after his dreams of becoming a successful author.
