One would say Quinn's life was as close as perfect could get; born to two prosperous entrepreneur who owned a luxury spa and hotel respectively first originating in Lavaridge, she thrived on the finer things from the moment she left her mother's womb. Things only prospered as the power couple, Erin and Collin Michaels, expanded their chain outside of Hoenn with their motto stating that they only use water drawn from Lavaridge Hot Springs, and oh, let's not forget to their "special spa masks" claiming to be mixed with the healing ashes of Mt. Chimney and the magical sand of Lavaridge Hot Springs. Oh - how business had boomed and it was a happy time for Quinnzel who enjoyed traveling the world with her parents as they expanded their empire. [break][break]

Behind the smoke and mirrors, nothing was as it seemed. When she was twelve, her parents divorced unforeseen. They had always seemed cordial in front of Quinn, but for years, Collin had been cheating with one of his female business partner. Erin had known, but looked passed it due to all she had invested into her marriage. All that changed when he impregnated her; that was where she drew the line. Packing up Quinnzel from their Lilycove oceanside home, Erin relocated them back to their home in Lavaridge where Quinn was born and raised up until she was seven.[break][break]

Quinn grew resentful; at first her anger was towards Erin for uprooting her from the city she had grown to love and the friends she had made, but then it was redirected towards her father when the truth finally came to light on why their marriage had disintegrated. She had a little brother and he was everything Collin had ever wanted. Quinn hated the little brat; her father had grown ever more distant the more time he spent with his new little family. Even had gotten married to the women when Quinn was fourteenth. Of course she refused to attend. While Collin was content and happy, it Erin never seemed to recover from the heartbreak. Instead she threw herself into work, leaving Quinn home along with her caretakers for weeks, sometimes months at a time as she continued to try to expand her empire throughout the world. Quinn was lonely and found herself filling the void in all the wrong places. It wasn't until her mother had brought her her first pokemon companion, a Growlithe bred from a long line of protection hounds. Quinn had always been around pokemon all her life, but never truly bonded with one until she was given the pup on her seventeenth birthday. She began to pay more attention to pokemon now - even taking a clear interest in watching the gym challengers every Saturday at the Lavaridge gym. She would notice when she watched a battle, she didn't feel that aching, gaping hole in her heart that her father left behind. Was this to be her passion? Her destiny? After graduating high school, Quinnzel left Lavaridge behind to figure that out. [break][break]
