If there was one fucking thing Wren Haykov knew, it was that he wasn't an actor. Sure, they were maybe pretty enough, but that was certainly stretching things, and certainly not enough to land him this job. Honestly, he was tempted to just half ass it and get the hell out of there as soon as possible. The less time they spent stumbling around on some fucking stage, the better.

But, okay, having the makeup put on was nice. It meant he didn't have to do it himself for once, and it was almost a welcome relief from the consistent temptation to commit murder on the director. Bastard. Wren wondered, briefly, if they could get away with punching him once this whole shit storm was over.

Once they finally, finally, got done dressing him in some tacky-ass superhero costume and makeup, they let him up. Stretching like they weren't just 5'4 and scrawny as hell, he hoped that whoever he was working with would be someone he could get along with.

Or, at the very least, they weren't a complete asshole. That was all they asked for.

An absolute beauty of a woman walked in. Long dark hair. Big titties. Fat ass.

Except it was not actually a woman, it was Chu-e dressed up as one. A crisp reporters uniform was the costume he had been placed in, the love interest for this particular little film. After having a very hectic last few weeks this was the kind of thing he needed. To fuck with some people.

The director shooed him over towards @hayvok, so Chu-e offered his hand. For one he was taller than someone... which made this whole thing more funny. Smirking, he offered his hand. "Kitty. Nice to meet you."

If this was some romance bullshit, Wren was screwed. He could barely say nice things to people he actually cared about; there was no fucking way he was going to be able to do this for some movie. They absolutely hated the idea of this, and for a moment they were focused on the idea of calling the director a bitch and getting the fuck out of there while they could. It was a good plan- except for the fact that he would have to deal with the aftermath when he went to get his stuff.

So, the only option was to grin and fucking bear it- and the homicidal rage that came with dealing with this.

Wait. His...coworker- whatever the word was in the acting world- was probably still waiting for a response. "Wren. Haykov."

Reaching to shake Kitty's hand, he hesitated for a moment, and then, without thinking; "wait. We're not already getting into character, are we?" And then, a second later, when they realized of course they weren't, dumbass- "Shit. Wait. Sorry."

A small puff of laughter left Chu-e at @haykov's awkwardness.

A sliver of recognition was there, in the back of his mind, and a cat-like grin slid into place. He took Wren's hand, shook it, then tried to tangle their fingers together and keep a grip on the other- Chu-e wasn't strong anymore but his grip would be as iron as he could make it.

"We have a little bit to talk before the shoot starts? Come back to my dressing room?" And he started to walk, tugging Wren lightly as if he didn't really have much of a choice, since in Chu-e's mind he didn't.

Chu-e wasn't really here for the movie. He had been here to speak with a Rocket plant. Then, he had found something much more interesting.

Oh, if Wren wasn't in his usual state of rage, that grin would be setting off so many alarms. But he's still sulking,still half hoping the director comes into his line of vision so that he can shoot him a glare that would kill lesser men.

Kitty must have taken his anger at this whole situation as an invitation to fucking- hold his hand or some shit, because that's exactly what she was doing. And maybe it kind of hurt- just a little. Nothing that Wren would complain about, of course, because he needed to pick a fucking struggle. "Okay...?"

They're not left with much of a choice, obviously, and as much as he wants to protest, something tells him that it won't do much good. He just hopes he isn't about to fucking die, because that would really suck.

Chu-e would enter quickly, door closed and locked with one hand, the other pulling out a hidden gun to point at Wren's back. The safety was clicked off. "So," Was said almost casually. Chu-e had dropped his 'Kitty' pretense, his voice deepening as he spoke in his normal tone. "Rocket, right? I think I remember someone like you from Kanto...."

He trailed off, smirked, tilted his head so that, if Wren still had his back to him, the other could see the grin on his face in the mirror.

A strangled, half yelp as Wren is pushed into the dressing room- he's clumsy in this stupid costume, and just barely manages to right himself, cursing at the suddenness of it.

Anything else is cut off with an almost shaky breath as he hears the safety click off, and his thoughts dissolve into a sort of holy fuck he is going to die here- and maybe a bit of trying to figure out if he's done anything recently that warrants this.

And then Chu-e speaks; if Wren hadn't already been tense as fuck, that would certainly do it. He doesn't answer at first, because it honestly takes everything in him to not start fucking bawling right then and there, but he finally does. His voice is shaky as hell, and he hates that the panic there is so clear.

"Not anymore." And then, because he apparently hasn't dug himself a deep enough hole; "obviously."

They're much too sassy for someone with a gun to his back; and for someone who is struggling to keep his vision from getting too blurry with unshed tears.

Chu-e pulls his wig off, cause he can at least let @haykov have that much dignity.

"I don't suppose you remember me.... Chu-e Choi?" Chu-e did look a lot different, after all. The gun digs into Wren's back. "Go have a seat. If you tell me what I want to know, I might not even shoot you." And he says it so pleasantly, as if they're both just discussing the weather or a sale at a local clothing store. Benign. Mundane. Not at all what's happening. "Just don't scream." Is all the warning that Wren gets as Chu-e moves to sit on another chair, gun aimed at him the entire time.

"So, why did you join Rocket? Originally. Why did you decide to leave when Blackwell died? Easy peasy."

If Wren hadn't already been cursing his fucking luck, the mention of Chu-e's name would have encouraged it.

"I remember you." He's quiet enough about it, and he so desperately wishes he could go back to being a smartass about this- but Chu-e's involvement in Kanto was honestly fucking terrifying, even if he is a twink now. Apparently. Wren isn't about to question it; especially not with a gun pressed to his back.

They sink, a bit awkwardly, into the opposite chair, plucking at the sleeve of his costume like it's going to stop him from crying right here. It's not; he knows it's not, but it gives him some sort of distraction. Something to look at other than Chu-e and the gun still pointed directly at him. "I doubt I have whatever answers you want, but-" He cuts himself off with a half-choked laugh, one that gives away just how close he is to crying.

It's not anything too pressing; if not for everything going on, maybe Wren would have relaxed at the questions being something he could answer. "I hope you're not expecting some sob story or anything like that." He hesitates, because admitting why he joined Team Rocket is almost embarrassing, considering his luck. "I joined because I was bored, honestly. And I thought it wouldn't last that long. Which...we see how that turned out, huh?" Another shaky little laugh, worse than the first- Wren takes a moment to wipe his eyes, like even with everything going on he can't stand to let Chu-e see him cry.

"After Blackwell died, I just...decided I wasn't sticking around, I guess? I knew some asshole would try to bring Rocket back, and I didn't want to be there for it. So."

For a moment, he debates begging for his fucking life, because that's probably not what Chu-e wanted to hear. But the thought of that scares him more, so he sighs after a moment instead. "That's it. Please don't shoot me?"

Chu-e left @haykov's question hanging in the air for a long time, face blank but cheery as he took in what Wren had said. Assessing. Judging. Rolling them around to see if he could detect any lies.

"Okay." The gun was lowered and Chu-e stood up from his seat.

"Rocket's not like that any more. Not like it was when Blackwell was in charge." The safety was clicked off and the gun vanished into whatever secret pocket it had been hiding to start. Leaning over, Chu-e picked up his wig and started to affix it back into place.

"If you ever want to be let back in, you're more than welcome, Haykov. Or, if you don't, just keep your nose clean and Rocket out of your mouth, kay?" Looking very much like a woman again, Chu-e did one final adjustment to his fake boobs before stepping back. "If someone asks, I got sick. Break a leg with the shoot."

Then he slipped out of the door, closing it behind him.
