There was nary a greater clash between earth and water in Hoenn than this treacherous stretch of open sea. Massive spires of rock stuck out from the roiling waves like jagged teeth. Intermittently, tiny islands of sand, rock, and shrubbery provided some degree of respite to anyone foolish enough to enter this tumultous area.

But even some of these islands held the remains of the shipwrecked...

As things were, Alevander had brought his modest rowboat ashore at one of these islands. With a thirst for adventure (and sweet treasure), the one-eyed astrologist began to search the area thoroughly with a machete in hand. His Minior, Phobos, followed close behind him in the air. It, too, sensed eyes in the shrubbery— watching every move they made.

Bursting out from the sand it had washed ashore upon, the Starmie flooded the area with a BUBBLEBEAM as Lev leapt over the carcass of an old canoe and took cover. Phobos, in the meantime, took the brunt of the attack as bubbles exploded upon its outer shell. Eventually, this served in exposing its core.

With its energy unstable after the barrage, the blue energy-based lifeform took it upon itself to kamikaze the Starmie before it with an EXPLOSION. The radius of the blast nearly blew away the cover Lev hid behind but, thankfully, he emerged unscathed when everything was said and done. The first thing he did was rush to his Minior's aid, withdrawing it into its moon ball so that it could spend some time recovering.

Next, however, he sauntered over to the unconscious Starmie as he unclipped an empty ball from his belt. The fluctuating glow that had once been present in its gem was now faded and nearly nonexistent. Catching it would be no problem.
