Another migraine was blooming in the back of his mind. The hallways were being paced. It wasn't so much confrontation, Chu-e did not give a fuck about confrontation, but this migraine was killing him. It made him want to tear his hair out. It felt like- something in the back of mind was just and- he couldn't put his finger on why it felt like-

Frustration boils in his veins and he's tired of waiting, so he let's himself in with more force than intended, marches inside as he tries to breathe and reel in the pressure in the back of his skull.

"I apologize." It's quick and clipped, a quick nod to Cillian Quinn as he sits down at his seat, one hand resting on top of the other on the table. A deep breath in, let out slow, and his face is blank but polite, drained of the manic energy he was feeling just a moment ago. It bubbles under the surface.

The bomb misfired. 'It just so happened...', Katherine can hear it already. Some poor excuse of a scientist telling her that this is actually a lot more common than she'd think it is and that it's a miracle Rocket haven't had to deal with more faulty bombs like the last one.

As if.

She does not believe that. Not even a little.

Her head turns when Chu-e Choi makes his arrival, narrowed eyes gracing him with a deadly stare. It's similar, although not identical, to the one she shot him the day of Excursion. Before she crushed him with her powers, that is.

"You look well."

Seriously. He did, and it surprised her. Kat was quite certain that he'd be forced to spend at least a few weeks in the medical bay.

"He can stay. There isn't anything I am scared of saying in front of Chu-e, Gavin."

Gavin allows his frustrations to settle, drawing a deep breath to steady himself against a rising tide. An immense pressure overtakes the room as Lugia's relaxed state shifts into something more present, imposing.

Unable to feel his patron's influence as the others would, Gavin continues.

"As I was saying: technology malfunctions, but that's not to say it did."

He'd worked in the labs, in Kanto days. There had been more than one incident of the scientists being punished for a poorly built explosive. It's never been Gavin's area of study, weapons; he'd focused more on Pokémon, on biology over tech. But he's seen the consequences.

"If there's a culprit, we'll find them, and they'll be dealt with."

Something dark settles in his eyes.
