Why she ever chose this place to put down roots was beyond even her. It was always bustling with life, much to much for Lottie's liking. Why couldn't she find a nice piece of land on the outskirts of some other town and live as a costume-making-hermit?! Why did she have to pick Lilycove? A place where she set up shop as a tailor and made worse by the fact she somehow deemed it a good idea to make house calls when people needed. [break][break]

But suppose there was some comfort in that. She was human after all, and having people come and go from her shop, plus the house calls? It only meant she wasn't going to go mad and starved from the constant day to day interactions she’s forced to endure... right?[break][break]

These thoughts always flit though her head on these deathly boring slow days. No one had come to the shop for a few days, not even to get some pants hemmed or even to take a look at what little stock of clothes she had in display... Then again, it was nice. This quiet and it'll give her time to take stock of her supplies and see what she may need more of. Yes, that'll keep her mind from wandering. Armed with a pen and a notepad, Lottie got her small task started. Fabrics, threads, sewing needles, the list grew before she knew it. [break][break]

cait's ability to handle a needle could be judged as 'abysmally mediocre' - which meant that while she could mend she had a difficult time making it look pretty. anything that suffered from her personal touch came out looking like a patchwork monstrosity. Sénon Game 's various work attire was often rendered ugly, misshapen and shoddily put together in the wake of her various attempts.

she had arrived here for the sole purpose of seeing if her kimono could be attended to. in the wake of the disaster that was the previously held festival, her precious garment had come out damage and torn in several places. fortree lacked anyone who was experienced enough to handle the garb, so she traveled one city over.

with the item neatly folded into her bag and a young pokemon in tow, she made her way into lottie's shop. the reviews for this place were solid enough, which encouraged cait to approach this shop first among other things.

both the young woman and her pink companion eyed the interior, noting the sights and scents and various costumes put on display.

"i wanted to ask if you handle kimono and yukata repairs here?"

There was a soft long and drawn-out sigh when she heard the shops little door bell jingle, signaling that someone came in. Dread and slight irritation crept over her as she had paused what she was doing and put down the pen and notepad she was making a list from and stepped out from the small back room of supplies and stared for a moment at the young lady who entered with her Pokémon partner. It wasn't very cute, but to each their own.[break][break]

"What can I do to help," Not a returned greeting, but got right down to business. "I do repairs on any garb. So long as its fabric and I have the supplies for it. Lay it on the counter here," she made a gesture to said counter space as she walked to the other side of it. "Let’s see how bad the damages are." Another thing she dreaded, because she was in short supply on some material and Lottie is hoping that she had the right fabric textiles for something as fine as a kimono. Yukata would be easier due to the materials not being so fine.[break][break]

"Well...? What are you waiting for..."

the avatar's gaze immediately went to the woman's hair, the blue-hued locks arranged in a simplistic yet appealing style. hair possessing such a color was a rare enough sight to be eye catching, but it wasn't entirely unheard of.

"hm? oh!"

she regained her focus, realizing that she had delayed in presenting her damaged attire. cait hastily removed her pack and placed the garb upon the counter. and with practiced hands, she unfolded the precious silk, displaying the washed garment. a quick examination would reveal several tears present upon the sleeve, waist section and collar.

the damage was easily noticed despite the messy rips being relatively minor.

"there was a stampede at a festival," she informed. "unfortunately i couldn't get away without a scratch."

patiently awaiting a verdict, she'd shoot her drowzee a glance; the pokemon appearing curiously eyeing a costume put on display.

"you have a lot of interesting outfits," she remarked, eyeing the products. "are these contest outfits?"

Finally, that prompt spurred this lady into action and the garb was taken out of its bag and laid out on display for Lottie to look over. Already the seamstress cringed visibly at the obvious damage to this kimono! Such a pretty outfit ruined by a careless customer. Though suppose they both can count themselves lucky that this outfit wasn't one Lottie had made a while back other wise this girl with her drowzee would have gotten far more of a sour attitude! [break][break]

Another sigh was given as she leaned over the counter with a pair of small scissors and already, she was snipping away at the frayed edges of one ripped hole in the sleeve. Sparing the girl, a glance then blinked at the curious Pokémon eyeing the costumes on display. "Duh." was the blunt reply before giving a proper answer. "I make costumes for contests; I make clothes for parties and even everyday wear. I’m good at what I do and if you want to buy something then pick it out and buy it.... you can also try it on for size if you want too." Such a hassle. Maybe she should make a few signs to place around her store that answer the stupidly obvious questions such as what the woman just inquired about.[break][break]

"I also do repairs on just about anything. By the way," Lottie stopped trimming the torn edges and fixed this girl with a bland stare. "The repairs on this will not be flawless. Silk is harder to make invisible repairs on when you have tears like this. So if you're not pleased with that then you can scrap this and buy an entirely new kimono. I have a couple in store, but you'll have to be fitted properly for one too. That'll cost a lot more than simple repairs."

cait's eyelids lowered slightly, her expression transitioning from outwardly friendly to guarded. it was rare to be treated thusly, especially since she served as a customer who had yet to pay.

'duh?'

she resisted the urge to snort, reminded of her elementary and middle school years when such a word was common place. it was uncommon to hear it among the adult populace, which caused cait to eye the woman. she didn't look to be high-school aged in the least, which caused the avatar to arch a brow and tilt her head lightly.

'the reviews for this place mentioned her products were well-worth the price...'

after a moment of weighing her options as well as minding her budget, she decided to invest in the first option.

"i'll pay for the repair. but i'd also be interested in buying something for my little pearl here. do you make any accessories thgat are fitted for pokemon at all? like scarves, collars or ribbons?"

pearl moved closer to the counter, craning her neck up slightly and squinting her eyes.

Why do people have to give their Pokémon stupid little pet names like that? It just sounds stupid and Lottie didn't hide the way her eyes rolled after hearing that and what followed was a tired sounding sigh from the seamstress as she resumed the repairs she started; those small scissors started cutting away frayed edges once more. "I have some stuff. But anything else will have to be custom made. They're over there in that corner." [break][break]

Where exactly? Which corner? The woman and her Pokémon will have to figure that out themselves because the shop owner was already busying herself with the outfit in front of her, Planning out silently the steps she'd need to make to make a good repair of this kimono that wouldn't end up looking like some ugly patchwork rush job!!![break][break]

"Look around. The repairs shouldn't take no longer than thirty minutes if you leave me alone. The pay will be discussed afterwards."

'well isn't she just lovely.'

cait resisted the urge to give a smirk, merely moving away to have a more thorough look at the shop's colorful product.

"let's get you something, pearl. come along."

her pokemon paused, peering curiously up at lottie as she glimpsed the woman's blue mane. it reminded the psychic of the water-types she'd seen, its coloration eye-catching and vibrant.

"pearl?"

the verbal prodding spurred the round creature into movement, pearl joining cait in browsing the selection. they'd eventually settle upon a collar, the leather colored a darker shade of pink with rose-gold metallic components.

"it's perfect," she said. "and it's your size, too."

it was roughly a half-hour and a handful of minutes before she returned to the counter with her desired purchase, the woman's eyes expectant.

Time must have flown by, but it's expected when you dive into something you generally enjoy. Time flies. And before Lottie knew it, the woman and her Pokémon were back at the counter and inquiring about the state of repairs with just a look. That’s all it took and there was even a slight smile on the seamstress' lips. "It's finished. Not perfect, not invisible, but it is a fine job and easily looked over if you're not paying attention to the fact there were tears." [break][break]

It might have been finished by Lottie's very own words, but that seemed to be a bit of a innocent lie as there was some finishing touches left such as pression the steam iron to a few spots and snipping a stray thread or two before the seamstress deemed it now complete. And without another word, he pulled it off the counter and out of reach to give it a shake out and one last inspection of the repaired spots. It was good enough, work to be proud of. Lottie even took great care into folding the garment in a way that wouldn't wrinkle.[break][break]

It was left on the counter where it was laid out as Lottie tallied up the total for repairs on the kimono, the time and supplies put into it along with the collar for that Pokémon. [break][break]

"For repairs on your kimono and the collar you will buy... total comes to one sixty-eight dollars."

her gaze had wandered, the woman's attention momentarily shifting toward a costume.

"sixty-eight," she parroted, distractedly.

cait dipped into her pocket, fishing out a faux leather wallet and pulling out three twenties, a single five and three dollars. she was thankful she didn't have to fish for coins, counting and recounting the amount before handing over the bills to be checked over by the grumpy shop keep.

"hm..."

she ran her finger along the seam, the damage barely visible. if one were to fixate upon it, they'd likely notice the flaw. but it appeared passable - the damage easily ignored.

"it's decent."

the woman's praise was purposefully kept mild, the jab a small one as she finally responded to the tailor's poor attitude.

"i may even come back."

Waiting quietly, watching with what would seem like a bland expression of boredom. Lottie soon got the payment in hand and despite being counted twice, she counted it a third time. It wasn't as if she didn't trust her customer to not give her the right amount, its because she was being dutiful when it came to cash handling. [break][break]

Satisfied that with the amount that was needed, Lottie rang it up in the register and wrote a recite by hand. A personal touch she had grown accustom too. [break][break]

Though that hum did not sound too promising. Icy eyes lifted from the counter to narrow at the woman who stated that the repair on the garb was just decent. "Decent...?" The seamstress repeated as if she almost misheard. This woman even had the guts to mention that she might come back?! [break][break]

"Whether you do or you don’t. I am the best in Hoenn. You'll be back whether you like it or not."
