[attr="class","lars"] pokemon tag @tag words 404 notes a doppelganger. | Okay so he wasn’t expecting to be slammed from out of nowhere with a sudden Wood Hammer attack.
That was definitely one way to catch him off-guard! Lucky his peripheral vision picked up on the gigantic appendage racing towards him and he’d bent over backward—like he was playing a game of limbo—and almost fell over as the ‘fist’ swung over his head. Once it had retracted back, he then felt his legs give way before actually landing on the grassy ground.
“Ugh,” he grumbled, plucking a shrunken-down marble at random and chucking it forward. He was taking a gamble here, he didn’t know which of the five he’d sent forward—he was hoping it wasn’t Zeis, as he knew the Scyther wasn’t ready for this kind of brutality. Once he’d pulled himself up, he let out a sigh of relief—it was his Marshtomp, Suijin.
And in came another Wood Hammer attack, the gigantic fist-like appendage aimed at the Marshtomp. Letting out a surprised cry, the Marshtomp quickly curled in on himself, using Protect at the very last second before the attack pummeled him shitless.
“Thank hell,” he muttered as the attacked bounced off harmlessly, but then it wasn’t over. A loud scraping of claws came from the small…thing’s direction as it Honed its Claws and prepared for another attack—but this time the dual-type was ready. “Sui, Rock Slide!” he called out, and a sudden avalanche of boulders came raining down at the Mimikyu’s direction.
For some weird reason… the attack didn’t work! “What the hell?!” he hissed, watching as the little head-thing suddenly tilted over to one side, before it backed away. “Earthquake!” he followed up, before realizing that he was still on the—wait, whoops!
Quickly rolling away as the Mimikyu then came in close for an attempt to Play Rough, the ground trembled violently in retaliation; the grassy ground shaking—hell, even the trees standing on the edges of the route shed their leaves as the Earthquake shook the area. “Hydro Pump, now!” he added a few moments later, and before the Mimikyu could whack it again with yet another Wood Hammer, a powerful blast of water erupted from the Marshtomp’s maw and sent it back against a boulder, where it let out a yelp of surprise before passing out.
“Shit, that’s scary,” he said, blinking before quickly tossing an empty Pokéball at it, hoping for the best.
Catching this Pikachu lookalike.
