She comes prepared dressed in a sports bra, leggings, and sneakers. She’s here to train, after all.

“Beckett,” she greets with a small smile as she lets the leather jacket slip off her shoulders and fall onto a nearby bench.

he's dressed in compression wear that both supports and also compliments his build. he's also here to train.

"before we start. how fit are you?"

“Almost,” she retorts with a grin as she finishes by pulling her hair into a tight, low bun. The shorter pieces frame her face as she gives the Admin the once over.

“Probably more than most,” Lex keeps herself in good shape. She’s fast, flexible, strong, with a set of almost gymnastic-like skills that aid in infiltration. She needs to be physically prepared in her line of work. That’s what made her so good at running, not fighting.

THEO BECKETT

he rolls his shoulders, stretching as he steps over to the ring. he stops just beside it, not yet entering.

"anything in particular you'd like to focus on?"

She sinks into a low squat, stretching her legs and shifting rhythmically between them as they build with heat. After taking a moment to consider the question, she looks up towards Theo, “I guess defending myself, maybe?” in all honesty she wasn’t quite sure. Why is she even here with Beckett, of all people? Lex doesn’t start fights or care to let it escalate to that point.

THEO BECKETT

simple enough, he slips into the ring and beckons for her to follow.

"i'm going to attack you. try and avoid being hit."

The weight of how bad of an idea this is paralyzes her for only a moment. There’s hesitation before she follows, but she follows, nonetheless.

Lex nods, her eyes tracing over his body carefully, waiting for a subtle movement that may give away his strategy. She’s uncomfortably aware of the nervous knot in her stomach.

[attr="class","beck"]there's nothing subtle about how he lunges a leg forward to kick her knee in, hoping to offset her balance enough to throw a left jab at her face.

He’s faster than she expects for a tall man with a good number of years on her. As always, Lex lets instinct guide her. In stark contrast to her fight with the man on the sub, she's more calm which make her movements fluid and graceful, like a dance. The leg he’s aiming for sweeps behind, shifting her body to the side, her while she dips into a low lunge, letting the left jab sail above her. The lunge Is easy enough to shift back in and stand up. The step back puts more space between them, “Hmph,” she grunts with a smile, readjusting her position to see what he had in store for her next.

[attr="class","beck"]to her credit, she avoids being hit with ease. he pulls his punch, returns it, and then turns just as she takes a step away.

his head dips slightly, approving.

he shifts stance, steps into southpaw, then throws a kick with his lead leg before swinging his left leg for a heavy roundhouse kick.

Lex is able to dodge the first kick in a similar manner as before. She’s expecting another punch. Stupid. Why would he do the same thing two time in a row? Make sure the first wasn’t dumb luck?

The roundhouse kick was a surprise. Instinctively she raised her arms to protect her head. Theo’s leg is parried by her forearms but the force sends her staggering back, “Shit,” she grumbles as she catches herself from falling onto the mat, putting her in a vulnerable, off balance position before she is able to stand up straight again.

[attr="class","beck"]his shin's conditioned enough to sustain the impact of her forearms. the leg lowers, places, and he's shooting forward with a teep kick to her gut.

Theo wastes no time striking again. Lex is barely able to find her footing before she’s forced to stagger backwards further to avoid getting nailed in the gut. The steps are sloppy and desperate, not the way Lex likes to do things. She finds herself nearly at the edge so she’s quick to dance back towards the center of the mat to give herself more room to move without feeling trapped.
