Rayne was humming to himself, he'd acquired such a beautiful quaint place for his café, and he was proud, not to mention that it was ridiculously spacious enough he could get away with using some space upstairs as a home. While he'd enjoyed travelling the globe before moving to Hoenn, feeling the waves gently swaying the floor beneath him had a relaxing homey feel to him, like he was at peace, even if it was rather minor in the harbour area.[break][break]

Though it'd take a while before he'd use most of the boat's space, after all, Sunshower Café had only opened recently, and while he may have advertised quite a bit, posters, banners, billboards, internet ads, and even fliers, he didn't expect a sudden booming business—hell, he resented the idea of working that hard on the first day—it was a small enough space allotted that Rayne and his three pokémon could handle the work. Chance, his Rotom working the register while also greeting by swapping between it and his phone, while Paua and Nocturne worked as wait staff and Rayne focused on the food.[break][break]

The dark-haired man had been keen, all dressed up in a white button up and black vest complete with a bowtie, black slacks and shoes and an apron to top it off, it felt nice wearing a uniform like this so casually. Chiming happily, "Let's hope for a good day's work, kids," he'd gotten off his seat to grab the chalkboard and place it outside with 'OPEN' written heartily on it, smiling.

“Well, shit.” Amaya walked into the establishment with arms crossed over her chest, a smirk spread across her lips that showed both tease and recognition for the man behind the counter. “You found your way to this shitty continent, eh Lucy?” She cherished the time she was able to get away from the base, finding freedom between routines and drills few and far between.

“I heard you got your own place here, congrats.” Lucien having his own establishment wasn’t a small accomplishment, but she couldn’t have her childhood friend gaining an inflated ego on her watch. “Quite a menu, too.” She glanced over the board behind his head for a moment before deciding. “I’ll have a Miltank Mix au Lait and an order of Clamperl Chowder.” Maya gave her friend a cheesy smile, rapping her fingers on the counter expectantly.

It hadn't been that long that Rayne had felt himself rather parched, grabbing himself a simple glass of water while playing a bit on his phone, mostly looking for music he might want to play—even though he usually would let Chance play something he'd found appropriate—it's not like he expected many people to come by all the way down at the harbour anyway. Yet it seemed, fate had decided to say 'fuck you' to a particular Lucien Rayne, in his brief spot of casual idling, in fact someone did come in as a customer, a certain someone he'd rather nonchalantly recognised.[break][break]

"Oh, it's the Primeape girl," he'd said after a quick cursory glance before looking down back at his phone. It had taken a moment, Rayne perusing through a couple songs; 'Freaking Out', 'Paralyzed', 'You're Dead', before his brain had caught up to his mouth. He'd nearly choked on the water he was drinking, coughing when it had gone down the wrong pipe in panic, "oh shit," he'd sputtered out, a mild fit of coughing was nothing compared to what he knew was coming up for him.

[attr="class","hanatext"]Unlike most people, being reminded of the past does not elicit any form of joy in Lilith's heart. In fact, it doesn't spark any emotions other than hatred and a strange sense of helplessness that plagues her in her day to day life.

And yet, why is she drawn to familiarity when it presents itself?

As Hex nudges her encouragingly, her hands hesitate to touch the door, gently pushing it open as she dares to enter a place that really shouldn't be visited. In an instant, nostalgia washes over her like a lulling lullaby, her head feeling so empty but her heart so full as she takes in the atmosphere with a soft inhale and a quiet sigh. Her attention then drifts to the person manning the counter, a bittersweet taste left upon her tongue as she places a name to those present.

"One Litwick Cocoa and a Bouncy Brionne Soda..." She hums, watching quietly as Hex slides some money over the counter. It's clear that she's ignoring the Primeape comment to the best of her ability, her expression remaining blank as ever as if it had never happened at all. But her eyes betray it all, a glint of amusement flickering through her gaze as she clears the way for the impending devastation of man for his hubris.

“You know I can legally carry a gun now, right?” Amaya gently tugged at her jacket and showed off the Mauser C96 attached at her hip, an unpleasant glare in her eyes as the nickname was mentioned. “Not that I need it.” She let the fabric fall to her side, covering up the handgun. “I’ve always been able to kick your ass with just my bare fists, you princess.”

She reached out and grabbed him by the collar, pulling the barista across the counter before wrapping arms around him in a firm hug. “I can crush you with my thighs.” Maya whispered in his ears before letting go, offering a warm smile to her friend. “So about my order?”

"I'm sorry! I'm sorry! Slip of the tongue, I promise!" Rayne cried out, hands up, as he'd been dragged over the counter by Amaya—though secretly thinking to himself 'This is exactly why I think of the name when I see you'—Nocturne moving to try and help his trainer before Paua had stopped him, the now-Raichu shaking her head, reminiscing all the other humiliating beatdowns Rayne had received at Maya's hands back when Paua was just a Pichu.[break][break]

When Rayne had been set down, he'd elected to ignore the last comment—he'd rather not die in such a humiliating fashion, nor dare even risk the precious thinking power he had on the comment, far too afraid of Maya to try. It'd been at that point that he'd seen another familiar face, "Oh, it's been a while, Lilith!" he'd chirped happily.

Though despite his moment of idle stupor that had led him into the situation where he'd been manhandled in such a fashion, his impeccable memory had shone through.[break][break]

"Alright, so, Miltank Mix au Lait and Clamperl Chowder for the Pri-- Maya! Maya, I said Maya, and a Litwick Cocoa & Bouncy Brionne Soda for Lilith, you sure you don't wanna grab a bite to eat with those drinks?" he'd asked, managing to catch himself before another fumble just barely, Chance, who'd been laughing to itself in the background had piped up suddenly, "THAT'LL BE [SOME CHEAP AMOUNT OF POKÉ DOLLARS] and [ANOTHER CHEAP AMOUNT], THANK YOU, BZZZZZT" it had declared, some strange gadgetry from the cash register pulling in the money received from Lilith's Mimikyu, "THANK YOU, YOUR ORDER WILL BE READY SHORTLY, BZZZZZT."[break][break]

"Take a seat anywhere you'd like, I'm gonna be a moment," Rayne said, tying his hair in a ponytail, he'd focused on the soda before working the two milk-drinks, a fairly simple matter considering the ingredients. Before long he'd promptly prepared the two milk-drinks in a rather expert fashion while Paua had gotten a couple extra things ready, it hadn't taken very long before he'd finished them both, topping up the hot cocoa with the sugar cube boat.[break][break]

The Raichu used its psychic abilities to bring the drinks to the two girls & Mimikyu. The finishing touch for the hot cocoa a bar trick more than anything else, having brought a match & shaker full of cinnamon, Paua had struck the match & lit the sugar cubes before dashing cinnamon over it, a small puff of flame bursting as the fire engulfed parts of the cinnamon.[break][break]

"You can blow it out or let it burn itself out if you want!" Rayne called out, poking his head out from the main kitchen a little further in where he was working on the Clamperl Chowder, seeming to have found himself a moment to do so.[break][break]

"And yeah, it's a nice place, huh? Figured I should settle somewhere but back home didn't feel right." he'd answered Maya's earlier chimings, before pulling himself back into the kitchen.

[attr="class","hanatext"]Even as winds shift and time goes by, some things in this world just don't seem to change. Rowdiness is a rather common occurrence when it comes to Maya and Luce, so the threat of opening fire and kicking his ass doesn't draw any real panic from her. Instead, she snickers, hiding her face in her sleeves as Hex goads them on.

Been a while wouldn't even begin to describe the time she'd spent missing - 11 whole years without a single peep or sign of her existence. She's pretty sure that her family had pulled out all the stops when it came to searching for her in the first few weeks of her disappearance, even plastering her details over the underground networks whilst she'd simply escaped as a stowaway on a passing ship.

Having left without a single goodbye, she's a little afraid to ask if they're mad at her. Or even worse, want her to contact her parents as soon as she possibly can...

"No, that's fine. Hex would probably eat you right out of business if given the chance to." Lilith catches her thoughts as soon as they begin to take off, giving him an awkward smile as she picks said gremlin right off the counter and places him onto a random table. Taking a seat right after, she watches Rayne with a mild interest - From the way he handles each order to the presentation of the drinks, he's immaculate and clean when compared to his loose tongue.

"Minor arson tendencies... I can respect it." A rare tease of her own, she allows the flames to flicker and fade before taking a sip. So settling in Alola hadn't felt right... In a sense, she can relate to that feeling, having harboured one far more twisted and desperate than his.

But she digresses.

"So, how long have either of you been here?"

“Lilith!” She soon released @rayne , finding him rather uninteresting in the grand scheme of things, especially since a relative happened to show up at the same time she did. “Cousin!” Arms wrapped around the white-haired girl with a smile, holding her close and not allowing her to leave with the help of her superior military strength. “I didn’t know you were here in Hoenn, I thought you’d still be running around Alola.” What were the chances they’d meet here again?

“We should go bowling some time!” Maya offered as she sat down next to her estranged cousin, awaiting the meal that would eventually be brought by the owner of the establishment. “How have you been? What are you doing here? Are you dating anyone? Please Arceus don’t say its Lucien.”

[attr="class","hanatext"]If she ever forgot why she avoids hugs like the plague, she is reminded almost immediately by the tight grip Maya has on her. With a rather soft laugh, Lilith gives her an awkward hug back, listening to the strange offer with a raise of her brow as she carefully grasps the mug within her palms.

"Bowling sounds nice..." Humming, she watches as Hex takes a long swig of his own drink. "I've never really done bowling before though." Surprising, considering how the family estate had space for every sport imaginable but not too out of the ordinary for a bookworm such as Lilith. "I'm just... exploring the region, learning about the flora and fauna present."

When it comes to dating though, she nearly chokes, closing her eyes as she takes a deep breath to calm herself. The cup is placed back onto the table, carefully tipped on the edges as she watches the mixture swirl within.

"The day I date anyone is the day Lucien gets away scotfree for calling you names."
