The sudden temperature change forced a shiver from Kaida, immediately replaced by the punishing heat, but in the moment, it was a relief. Turning to find another on the beach, she hurriedly bowed her head, "Thank you." She waited briefly for the conversation to continue, tilting her head as her helper continued onwards...not a word?

Not until she received a question, making her straighten up as she answered, "Yes, they don't like to move from home, so all of them leaving is strange...Od. Go help." She jerked her head towards the ocean, prompting the Inteleon to sigh through his nose and meander over. Two Pokemon, especially with an Inteleon's famed sight, would help more than one.

"I've only just arrived. Do you know when they left?" Some voice in the back of her mind questioned who this was, but she shook it off. Not necessary. She was on the job.

So they had left during the night? Even stranger. It was one thing for the Pokemon to leave because of the heat, that was normal, but it was another for them to vanish without outside cost. As far as Kaida knew, dragon type Pokemon were considered valuable, Aloha Pokemon even more so...it wasn't strange to think they'd been stolen away. "Pirates. Maybe?" Hervoice hissed under her breath. She didn't have good experiences with pirates, battling alongside illeana reyes had been a...thoroughly frightening experience (she wondered briefly about the woman, and pulled her mind back)

"I'm Kaida. Thank you for helping." She took the hand gently, nodding firmly and genuinely. "Let us begin. If anybody took them, I'll take them back." At her words, Nid broke away, wings extending from her head as the Dragonair spun into the air, giving an aerial view of the search.

"And by air." Kaida clarified, nodding to Nid as the Dragonair twirled in the air. They'd have to approach by ocean, though. A Dragonair flying towards the pirates would be too obvious.

She leaned forward to note the map, deciding in the moment that it was their best option. The pirates couldn't have gotten far, and they would likely seek a place with space, the Alohan Pokemon weren't exactly small, "It's our best bet. Let's go." The back of her mind told her she couldn't bring a civilian into battle, but she waved off the danger. She could protect her or send her away if the situation turned violent, having a partner was more important in the moment.

"We'll swim there...come on, Jotun." A Pokeball was tossed near the ocean, releasing a great water gator that Kaida leapt on. Waiting for Alice to either hop on or release her own water Pokemon, Kaida set off.

Kaida brightened as a ship came into view, beckoning the already low flying Nid into the water with the rest of the team. She was glad their intuition was correct, but now the situation begged the question...how were they supposed to actually free the Pokemon? Preferably without being caught themselves.

To start with, she signaled Nid to release Mist. The white smokescreen spreading out upon the waters. She could see the humans on the beach watching curiosily, the distracting effect wouldn't last for long, they'd catch on that it wasn't just a mist from the sea in just a second.

"I'm freeing them...help me." Kaida turned to her partner like a fellow Ranger, jerking her head at the chains surrounding the Pokemon. They were powerful, given proper motivation and with them on their side, surely they could drive away such pirates. Her hand signaled to Od, the Inteleon taking careful aim at on of the chains and firing a precise Snipe Shot at the same moment Kaida started to emerge from the Mist, Jotun already charging an Aqua Tail.

Fron the beach,one freed Exeggutor started to wave its head in fury.

The pirates were true cowards, Kaida reflected. They must have taken the Pokemon in their sleep. They must have, for the battle against the pirates was barely a battle once the imprisoned Pokemon were free.

She clung to her gator as he swung around again, launching away several pirates. Most slammed into the ground, unconscious, but a few started to flee...Kaida didn't give chase, her priority was getting the Pokemon back home, and they had a good enough haul of captured pirates.

She leapt off her Pokemon, looking upon the Alohan Pokemon, and smiled as they recognized her as an ally. Nary a scratch on them. "They're not hurt!" She nearly beamed at her partner for this mission, the smile lingering for a few moments before returning to her neutral face, "We just have to get them home." Now that would be a bit of an endeavor but truly, Jotun was up to the task, "Thank you...er, Alice."
