"Be brave, Njor. There's no danger." Kaida spoke softly to the jerky Carvanah, who looked at her nervously before plunging to join Corpus, the Huntail already confidently swimming in the deeps, gnashing her huge jaws at her opponent.

She looked her her opponent, shaking her feet off of water like a disgruntled feline, "A good day. Let's have a good fight." A semblance of a smile lingered on her face. Her smaller Pokemon appeared a little weaker, especially Njor, but she trusted the two to listen to her.

"Let us begin."

There was no avoiding the initial attacks, Kaida knew. All the Pokemon underwater were completely in their elements and full of energy. To that end, Kaida made no orders at the moment, knowing it was up to her Pikemon to counter these attacks.

Corpus coiled up as the Ice Fang approached, shimmering a steely light as Iron Defense activated. The fangs hurt, but far less so and turned slightly by the defense attack, the Huntail squirming free and bolting away, seemingly fleeing.

Njor's own strike was far less dignified. The young Carvanah chattered and swam to and fro, only managing to dodge a few bubbles in the the pelting Bubblebeam. The chattering suddenly evolved into a roar, Snarl booming across the accommodating water, aiming to rattle and harm.

"My family found him and brought him into the team while I was out." Kaida's voice sounded far away, solely focusing on the battle below, yet still finding herself answering. She gashes her teeth as the Bullet Seed came out in force, knowing Njor wasn't long for the battle, another attack would knock him out. "Snarl! Corpus! Hunt Mantine!"

With her defenses boosted, Corpus confidently charged the Manine, Feint Attack aimed to attack from the bottom as she struck and swam away. Njor listened well enough, Snarling again to scatter some of the seeds, but still suffering some grazing shots before being slammed away by the Aqua Tail.

With Pokemon weakened on both sides, Kaida only hoped Corpus could bring the victory home.

One of Corpus' staring eyes rolled to regard the approaching gator, but made no attempt to call off the hunt. Instead, she shot off a Hydro Pump towards the attempting to heal Mantine, not fast enough to catch up in time, but certainly good at aiming. The Iron Defense was starting to wear off, but gave enough durability to squirm away again...though Kaida doubted the Huntail could pull off an escape too many more times.

At the same moment, Kaida called to the Carvanha, "Don't let Corpus be hurt!" Her command came after the gator's attack and came with obvious intent. Distract him before he can attack again. Njor hovered in place momentarily, then hissed in frustration, suddenly launching forward at incredible speed. Aqua Jet, right at the gator's flank...that was sufficiently distracting, right?

To Njor's horror, the gator continued on its mission. The little fish could scarcely bare to look as it went straight for Corpus...who suddenly, split? A Substitute appeared in the deep sea creature's place, a mix of light and good ol' Pokemon power.

Kaida said nothing more, lest she give away where the Huntail was. Instead, she bade Njor on, "Bite it hard!" And that the Carvanha knew how to do, opening its jaws wide before trying to Crunch the Feraligatr's tail

The flinch seemed to seal the deal. Quickly, Kaida roared out, hoping they'd hear her in the chaos of battle, "Finish them, now!" Corpus reappeared, swimming serpent-like as she charged a Hydro Pump to blast the gator.

Still close to the intimidating beast, Njor clicked his jaws and Snarled at close range, before swimming away in a hurry, uncertain if they had won or not.

Kaida let out a breath she didn't know she was holding, looking up to see the outstretched hand of her opponent. Another quick look downwards to ascertain her Pokemon's safety (even injured, they celebrated like overexcited children, twirling and diving), and she paddled her platform a little closer.

"It was close, I'm glad they knew how to win." She passed off the victory to her Pokemon, knowing victory wasn't from her orders, half those attacks hadn't been her idea. An idea came to mind, that this trainer might be one to remember, "I'm Kaida, I am glad to have battled you."
