Eyes remained on the Mightyena as they followed the same path they took every time they traveled by the route. There did not seem to be much of a difference in behavior though. With nothing much happening, Kyle gave in to a yawn, losing his attention on his Pokemon while a wild one gains it. He couldn't help keep his mouth shut afterwards when he saw the most incredible thing that happened in his day though.

"Dog!"

The Growlithe was noticed by the trainer even before the Mightyena could. Surprised with the sudden action from his trainer, the Dark-type would take a step back, staring at Kyle for a while, before turning his attention to the Fire-type. The eyes of both canines met, a low rumble on their throats releasing a growl in an attempt to intimidate each other into inaction. Kyle was indifferent about it though, and initiated the encounter with a command.

"Go with Crunch, Delta." He had almost forgotten the main objective of taking his Mightyena for a walk. His hand quickly moved in his pocket, readying the Pokeball in anticipation of the attack.

The Dark-type moved in for the bite as Kyle had commanded him to. Flames would meet the canine midway, as the other, more robust pup would protect itself with fire. Maneuvering around it, the Mightyena easily closed the distance between them and went to sink his fangs onto the Growlithe's throat. It yelped in pain as soon as the sharp teeth met its flesh. The cry was immediately silenced when Kyle chucked his Pokeball at it, dematerializing the Pokemon into light and containing it within the capturing device.
