The media is abuzz with reports of SOOTOPOLIS CITY, the averted crisis on MT. CHIMNEY, and even still, reruns of THE HOENN STAR TOURNAMENT. Red, blue, white and yellow buntings dance in the summery breezes: remnants of Slateport's previous celebration. Even further above, Slateport's sun kisses the skin with gold. Beachgoers in bright, loose summer wear or Johtian inspired yukata stroll across sandy streets. For now, it is peaceful.[break][break]  Curiously, you notice two beachside pop-up eateries set across from each other in midst a myriad of colorful stalls. Several customers gather in front of each business. Some peer at the menu in frustration— while others oggle their adorable owners. On the lefthand side of the district, a CHEF MEOWTH refrains from licking its paws (food safety is a priority) as it is pampered by a small counter-side fan. On the right, a CHEF SLURPUFF pants to beat the heat, offering apologetic looks to those inquiring about a meal.[break][break]  There is no human owner to be found in either stall. Still, these Pokemon have adhered to their daily routine. They have opened shop. Prepped the kitchen. Positioned themselves on the countertop in order to attract customers— and now, help. Their BABY-DOLL EYES have inevitably lured you all in, for they need actual chefs to satisfy their increasing line of unruly customers.[break][break] And so, even though you're pawsitively exhausted, you end up running errands for a dog and cat out of the goodness of your god damn heart.  THOSE IN THE CAT'S CLOSING SHIFT will suddenly see their CHEF MEOWTH clawing at the back storage door. It slams outward and a blond man stumbles out. The door is closed and automatically locks. He clutches his shoulder, a deep lavender fog wafting from its joint.[break][break]
He appears to be the owner of this pop-up stall, for the Chef Pokemon (of both stalls) will dote on him. The man speaks curtly, in a clean mainland Hoennian accent, "thank you... for helping my partner in my stead. agh," A pain seems to wrack through his body, and he's quick to list a recipe. He explains it will help him with his "injury". "and make it cute!" [break][break]
After he eats the slice ravenously, the man ushers everyone out while the other stall works to clean. With curt gratitude, he closes shop.[break][break]
Eventually, heads to the BONE-APPETIT! stall. His Chef Meowth is recalled and the Chef Slurpuff recognizes the man too. As he thanks the workers of the dog-manned stall, a purplish wisp ignites from his shoulder again. He asks the workers to create his temporary cure as he did with the workers of BARISTACATS. Afterward, he thanks everyone, ushers them out and closes the stall...[break][break]

HOW TO PLAY THIS EVENT IS SIMILAR TO GAMES LIKE OVERCOOKED OR PAST EVENTS LIKE TOWERS OF STRENGTH/ADVENTOURS. By combining POKEMON MOVES AND ABILITIES, characters will be able to cook dishes for customers.[break][break] Only TWO OF YOUR CHARACTERS MAX can participate in this event. Furthermore, you may partner with THREE OTHER CHARACTERS to help you complete your dishes. You may choose to work solo, but orders may become increasingly difficult to complete.[break][break] When you sign up, you must choose whether you are assisting CATS (BARISTACATS) or DOGS (BONE APPETIT). Furthermore, you must decide whether you (and your group, should you have one) would like to work opening, lunch, dinner, or closing. Depending on the work shift you choose, you may be privy to additional story beats. This has also been done to prevent the IC ISSUE of having TOO MANY COOKS in the kitchen.[break][break] [break][break] - Sign-up for a shift using the template featured below.
- Create a thread in NIGHT MARKET board. Label it (CAT) or (DOG).
- Navigate to this thread to see the AVAILABLE ORDERS. Almost every day, this thread will be UPDATED with a new order. Older orders will not be retired; however, you must complete the orders IN ORDER.
- To complete an order, post in your thread as your character, using the MOVES or ABILITIES REQUIRED to create the dishes. If a group member does not have a move or ability needed, but everyone else has them, they simply need to post with their character and Pokemon assisting.
- Both cafes will have the same "menu" or "orders" OOCly for convenience.
- Each completed order will add to the total amount of COMPLETED ORDERS for cats or for dogs. Additionally, each order will reward your characters with prizes that you can immediately add to your PERSONAL COMPUTERS.
- Once you (and your group) have completed an order, post in this thread with the COMPLETED ORDER template. You do not need to complete the whole order to submit it, but once you do, you can not go back to complete it.
- The pop-up stall with the largest amount of completed dishes will win a SPECIAL PRIZE for its participants.
