She felt like she could melt right then and there, in his strong arms. Niko had a claim on her that no one else could ever take away.

And she was thoroughly screwed. She knew that much.

Did she care? Not one bit.

Jessie was unable to help but smile back as he kissed her, tangling her fingers into his hair. Allowing herself to float away in the moment.

His solid warmth only disappeared for a moment as he toppled onto the snow beside her. Jessie couldn't help her laugh as she rolled onto her side to look at him, shivering.

That smile could kill her a million times, and she would welcome it.

Her body grew warm after he spoke, and she only reached out to touch his hand with hers. A shy smile grew on her lips.

"Me too."

Jessie's smile was all genuine as she peered over at him, grasping his hand tightly. She loved the feeling of his larger hand holding hers.

"Absolutely. It's freeing. I feel like I can do anything. I could fly if I wanted to."

Of course, she missed frequently seeing Uriah. But, she didn't feel bogged down by her father here.

Laughter spilled from her lips. He had a point. Verdanturf was much cleaner than Slateport had ever been.

She rolled closer toward him, grinning.
