"I don't have any business like that, sorry." Adrian was musically inclined, a stage performer and contest announcer. And on top of that, his apartment was filled with drugs and his pursuits were largely hedonist by nature; so absolutely no room for this kid in his life.

At least not for any business ventures.

"I'm more of a solo artist than anything."

He didn't mean to be curt, but it was best to kill the idea in its crib; his emphasis on the solo is sharp. Adrian takes a moment to consider their needs while Klefki dozes off clinging to his wrist, jostling when he shifts intermittently.

"You're pretty proactive about work for someone your age," he remarks insightfully. Maybe Adrian was just a privileged, even lazy child, but he'd never known someone to be looking for work so vehemently unless they were in dire straits. In that case, he'd have the highest sympathy for them, although he can't be too certain.

"Have you considered mowing lawns?"

Back in Sinnoh they'd always offered to shovel snow for neighbors and gotten treats in return, but there was hardly any snow in Hoenn naturally, but that meant the grass grew year round. All he needed was a lawnmower.

"I write rock and indie music. Nothing glamorous that you'd have heard of me." Though that wasn't always the case, it felt more natural to downplay one's alleged stardom; ran less of a risk of being shot down. But for all his blathering, it'd been quite some time since he took up the pen. It was an itch he needed to scratch.

"You're probably right. Easier to let a pokemon do the work," he admitted after a rather shortsighted suggestion. It wasn't uncommon at all for Hoennians to leave their gardens in the care of a trusted pokemon for months at a time; this was no different. "It was just a thought."

What other options were available to them?

"Have you been sending your pokemon out on PokeJobs when you can spare 'em? That's a decent way to earn some cash..." Granted it would be poor etiquette not to amply reward the pokemon actually completing the specifies tasks, but the residual income could add up alongside everything else they were likely already doing.

Guess he really can't be helped. Not by him.

Adrian contemplates things for a moment, stroking his chin ponderously while mulling over the details. There was a lot for them to get around; he couldn't imagine having to ask himself all these questions while he was growing up. He'd been more preoccupied with schooling and training than anything else. "So you're a fire-type specialist?"

That would likely hold him back, too.

"Well, if you manage to get it all figured out, I guess you would be like one of those child prodigies." While they continue their exchange the bell inevitably rings, and Adrian recognizes he has little to offer them, and departs.

"Take care out there. I hope ya make it work."
