As twilight paints the sky in shades both cold and warm, the Spectrier trots up the mountain. Getting it to accept him as its master had been no easy task for Mars, but prideful as the equine pokémon may be, in the end, his own pride had come victorious in this little tug-of-war of theirs. Which, of course, came as no surprise to the man of nearly endless pride.

Spectrier is said to have poor eyesight: a creature of the night that dwells in darkness. Yet, while this may be true, its every other sense is keener than most pokémon Mars has ever encountered, and that proves itself to be true when a neigh alerts him of the Claydol’s presence before it becomes evident.

Arion doesn’t even pause or slow down. A PSYBEAM is swiftly avoided, and a SHADOW BALL is sent the Claydol’s way as if to retaliate.

There’s an explosion, the wild pokémon falls back, and just like that, they continue up their path…

What’s with small pokémon and wandering right onto a path when they hear something approaching?

Well, not like the Wynaut can be blamed this time, because there’s no clip clopping of hooves as the Spectrier runs. In the beginning of this night, there’s only silence, although thankfully such is not the case for the horse of all too keen senses…

Arion does hear the Wynaut, and in response to its presence, he stops in his tracks in order to avoid hitting it, although his annoyance is clear.

That’s how the poor Wynaut ends up getting HEXED, and Mars sighs as he throws a Luxury Ball.
